Mehmed Immortal Cookbook

@kossin

well how we now will decide who provided best rex save? I had some high hopes for getting at least 1 point for a change ;-)

anyway I think I liked "slizskej_slimak" save. Too bad LG and dhoomstriker didn't arrive with their saves :-(.

You can still vote if you wish!

However I thought it'd be nice to move the round ahead a bit, the interest has been waning down a bit it seems and a fresh game might re-kindle it.

My votes here,

Abigcivfan 3pts
This was the best in my opinion because of the tech lead, taking Astro with Lib for Observatories and trade routes. Oxford almost done and can run over the AI with Jans.

Slizskej 2pt
Good tech, like the UoS/Versalis approach.

No number 3 because I think Abigcivfan's is the best.

abigcivfan's save is not form the round 2 so I will not vote for it

3pts would be slizsky_slimak - great tech rate, working on TM for GA. the only downside is somewhat dangerous diplo situation

2pts fierabras - reasonable tech rate, as a plus he settled the new cities to my liking. I am not a bit sure with the city in the middle as for me it's a bit too soon to settle it

1pt cripp - I like you got UoS and some monasteries around. I think you could have heavier hand on whips esp in cap. the uni should be whipped long ago, but you built there the UoS so you probably felt that you have not enough turns for it.

the saves of fierabras and cripp were for me really close in power, so I would say that splitting 1.5pts for each would be much more to my liking.

Have you finished ABCF? I'm looking forward to see which of our two gets the earlier time.

Grashopa

Spoiler :

I played on a bit. I won cirumv bonus easily. Seeing the AIs were so behind, I quickly switched to Theocracy, built an army of Cannons+CR2 Maces+a few Rifles/gren as stack defenders, and took over Gig's cities early 1200AD.

It was pretty one-sided with my superior fast navy; high production HE city, capital, globe whip and workshop cities pumping troops non-stop.

Also got Assembly Line in early 1200ADs. I could just shut down research, switch to Police State and finish conq/dom perhaps in the 1600ADs.

but... i lost all my saves to my wife again

Just to make sure everybody got this:

>>> There will be no voting round per-say <<<

Pick any save you want and finish the game! Then we can start the next one with an Industrious leader for a change ;)

I'm never quite sure when it's a good time to settle mediocre cities. I guess sooner than later is better. I was planning to take Nationalism as free tech the next turn and use the Great Engineer to build the Taj (Freddy already has Nationalism). In the Golden Age I'll switch to slavery to whip those courthouses and switch back to Caste at the end.

I think if you are in a mood you can start new one right away

hmm 1906 UN loss :-(

Spoiler :

Basically I left the main island "alone" and tried to reach SS.

Bad news was that KK was too strong and capped all hindus first and then all budhists. I got him to friendly so no danger there, but he after 10+ votes finally found out he can selfpromote himself to victory.
Oh I was something like 10 turns from launching SS, he probably too since he needed only last ship part.

I should have probably got involved more on main island :-(

Good effort!

Anyone else? .... or are you all just waiting for a Santa Claus start?

Trouble is in this game I think most of us went and played our own save. Unfortunatly I don't have the patience in this sort of game as the one more turn kicks in each and every time I play. :)

I like the earlier stages of games, kos. The later turns just seem to drag for me, and I rarely have the patience to run it out. It's like a basketball game, the last 30 seconds seems like it lasts forever!

Hi all, just wanted to sincerely apologise for not being able to follow through on this one – especially after noticing that I somehow managed to win an earlier round. Unfortunately, my old PC went to that great scrapheap in the sky a few days after I submitted my last save in this cookbook (perhaps it was the shock of winning a vote!), so I’ve been busy buying a new PC in the interim. If I can find the time, I’ll playthrough just to get some more practice on immortal.

@vranasm: thanks very much for your comments re: my save. Apologies for not being able to get back to you re: your query.

@Dhoomstriker. Once again, thanks for all your comments – your feedback is really appreciated. :)
