MEIOU Roman Empire

I decided to give this a try.
I probably will take my time updating, and this is my second ever MEIOU game (the first went awfully wrong ).

I just signed peace with Serbia and Montenegro, taking four former serbian-controlled provinces. The Ottomans got into a long war with Venice and Aragon and Castille, which resulted in no gain for either side. However this allowed me to build my navy and so now the ottomans cannot land anything in Europe.
The next step will probably be a war to kick them out of the continent.

A few years later (and being conservative with war exhaustion since i am not familiar with MEIOU yet) i have doubled the size of the Empire, annexing Epirus and Achaia, and taking half of the Ottoman lands:

I also just allied myself with Naples, to protect against Hungary.

You look pretty much good-to-go there though, your next challenge will probably be Hungary instead of Anatolia.

MEIOU is a great mod, I played as England and then Divine Wind came out. I should install it again and play as Portugal.

Yes it looks like a great improvement on DW as well.

@T F: I will only attack Hungary if they destroy the Bulgarian nation. But i mostly allied with Naples to be safe in the case they attack me.

Does it start earlier or something? It does look like a good mod though, perhaps I should try it.

It starts at 1356 i think, and yes it is a great mod

Small update after i destroyed the ottomans and some minor turkish states in Lydia:

I wonder if they've added more events to other nations yet, when I last played the most complete focus was between England and France, so much fun to play.

They have several starting scenarios, but i did not know that when i begun my game. There is one for the Roman Empire as well, and i guess that one would have a lot more events about it.

It seems that the AI is building a lot of ships in this mod. I was thinking of attacking Aragon, since it owns half of Cappadocia along with Athens, and i thought my nice navy of 20 galleys and 8 transports would protect me against an invasion. Well Aragon had a navy of 70 galleys and 3 larger ships...

Anyway, the Aragonese question will have to be settled while they are in war with someone powerful it seems. Maybe it is time to attack the Knights though

Excellent progress, may the new Roman Empire conquor all of Europe and then turn Britain into a penal colony.

The fifteenth century has begun, and it is clear by now that the decisive war in the empire's history will be against Aragon... I am allied to Naples and Portugal, Hungary is the weak protector of the catholic faith, so after Portugal signs peace with the destroyed Mameluks i will probably commence the hostilities against the catalans.

As always, reclaim Rome. Rome isn't Rome without Rome.

In the end, if all goes reasonably well, the plan is to restore Justinian's empire at its greatest extent, so Rome will be incorporated in the empire

If all goes reasonably well, you should be able to accomplish quite a bit more than that.

The long anticipated war with Aragon finally came, but it was a stalemate until France declared war on the catalans. Then Aragon accepted to give me Athens and one Genoese province.

From then i moved on to annex Karaman. The next war will again be against Aragon though.

Not much changed apart from Morea being annexed (it was my vassal). In two years the truce with Aragon will expire. Lets hope in the next war they utterly collapse, and France declares again on them after a few years

I have a hard time understanding how you're able to take back so little from them. Do you not have the right CBs or something?

I only had one new Idea, and it was economic since at the time i was in dire need of a steady inflow of income. In around 2 years the next idea will come, which will be the one giving me a CB on all non orthodox christians.

Also, i do not know how familiar you are with MEIOU, but this mod gives the roman empire less cores. Half of my territory was annexed while not being cored, which is why i have such high infamy.

That said now, after five more years and a MASSIVE war with France, Naples, the Knights and Genoa, i took two of the three provinces of the knights and signed peace losing some ducats only. After the CB on non orthodox i will be in a vastly better position to expand, first against Aragon and then Syria
