Remembers guys, we MUST KEEP BIG SWINGING ALIVE until we can build the Epic. If we lose him we have to start over getting a guy past 10. So bring him home, put him up in the palace, whatever.
Really? I did not know that.
Turn 165 (1050 AD)
Methos: Globe Theater will be done in one, and a granary will be done in two. Since the granary doesn't work until after growth I turn 'Avoid Growth' back on until it is finished. I'm not sure if this a good idea or not.
Methos: I decide to hook up the spices. They won't benefit us but we could always use them in trade.
Berlin finishes: Globe Theatre
Turn 166 (1060 AD)
Berlin begins: Granary
Methos: Big Swinging heads back to Berlin.
Archimedes (Great Engineer) born in Berlin
Turn 167 (1070 AD)
Velvet Kisses (Swordsman) promoted: City Raider I
Velvet Kisses (Swordsman) promoted: City Raider II
Damaged Roses (Swordsman) promoted: City Raider I
Methos: We have a Great Engineer. I merge him in as a super specialist.
Berlin grows: 10
Berlin finishes: Granary
Turn 168 (1080 AD)
Berlin begins: Forge
Methos: Crap! I was positive production was done before growth. Oh well.
Tech learned: Liberalism
Christianity has spread: Berlin
Turn 169 (1090 AD)
Tech learned: Printing Press
Research begun: Guilds
Methos: I forgot to mention the Chinese had a Christian missionary in Berlin.
Methos: I chose Printing Press as our free tech for the extra commerce from villages and towns.
Turn 170 (1100 AD)
Methos: Big Swinging makes it back to Berlin.
Berlin finishes: Forge
Turn 171 (1110 AD)
Berlin begins: Heroic Epic
Methos: Interesting. The Spanish city of Toledo is only 39% Spanish. Looks like someone is about to flip.
Turn 172 (1120 AD)
Methos: Cyrus's cities are poorly defended. So far two of his cities have had two longbowmen and a spear each.
Turn 173 (1130 AD)
Methos: Cyrus comes calling. Wants to give us his Compass and 10 gold for Paper. I decline.
Turn 174 (1140 AD)
Methos: Izzy demands Music, I say no.
Methos: Capac wants to trade us Guilds for Paper. Unfortunately we are 1 turn shy of researching it so I decline. I hate to say no to him.
Tech learned: Guilds
Turn 175 (1150 AD)
Research begun: Banking
Berlin finishes: Heroic Epic
Turn 176 (1160 AD)
Berlin begins: University
Turn 177 (1170 AD)
Tech learned: Banking
Turn 178 (1180 AD)
Research begun: Economics
Johannes Kepler (Great Scientist) born in Berlin
Turn 179 (1190 AD)
Methos: Wow! To great people in my turnset! We have a great scientist who I merge.
Methos: I drop research to 90%. We're down to 21 gold and thus puts us at +3 gpt.
Turn 180 (1200 AD)
Methos: Saladin demands we cancel our deals with the Persians. I don't recall anyone saying anything otherwise so I say no. I hope I didn't screw this up.
I left a worker with movement since I wasnt for sure where to send him.
After building the Heroic Epic I chose not to build military units due to our -5 gpt. Instead I went with a university. Banking will be done shortly.
At 100% research any banks, grocers, markets, etc. wont be used. So we may want to seriously consider leaving research at 90% once we get gold improving buildings up. Just a thought.
Unfortunately I dont have the time to post more thoughts. I seriously didnt have time to play this turnset but figured it wouldnt take too long.
Heres the
1200 AD save.
