Some info:
-Neo Assyrian empire: 911 BC - 612 BC
-Achaemenid Empire : 550 BC - 330 BC
-Parthian empire: 247 BC – AD 224
-Sassanid empire: AD 224 -AD 651
-Khawrezmian Empire: AD 1077 -AD 1231
-Timurid Dynasty: AD 1370– AD1526

So, here is how I plan to use it:
- Sumer = starting unit
- Early Bronze age = early Assyrian
- Late bronze age = late Assyrian
- Early Iron age = Early Persia
- Late iron age = Late Persia
- Dark ages = Parthian
- Early middle ages = Sassanid
- High middle ages = Khwarezm
- Late middle ages = Timurid

It's a bit off. Parthian should be late Iron and Sassanid Dark ages, and Persia early iron age early according to the "dates" of my eras, but we have to do some compromises. It's not really possible to have a unique time line with era dates that match well every civilizations in the game!
