Meth02: OCC Cultural Victory

Do we want the Industrious trait for our civ? We probably won't be building that many wonders I wouldn't think. We don't want to take too many of them away from our ally. Granted, I'm wondering if our ally will primarily be earning culture from religious builds?

Any ideas?

As said in earlier posts: if it's up to me the only 2 wonders we're going to build are the oracle and GL... so imho industrious isn't the best choice.

Personally, I think industrious is not the optimal trait for this variant. Philosophical, financial, and expansive would be the traits that I think would serve us the best.

I agree on all the above. The question I have is mostly which two of those three we want.

Sorry guys, I had planned on starting something tonight, but couldn't sleep today. Slept two hours and woke up. Took a couple sleeping pills and had something to eat and tried again after an hour or so. I just woke up half an hour ago and have to go to work soon. This whole day consisted of me either sleeping or trying to sleep. I'm busy tomorrow so it'll be Thursday before I get the start up.

At least this way we can fine tune everything.

Financial is a definite. That's one of those traits that is a must have. Expansive is great for OCC but so is Philosophical.

I believe we all seem to agree on a Great Plains map, or at least the majority does. Opponents I'll probably toss in those that everyone has mentioned.

What about difficulty level? I don't have a clue with this variant so any suggestions?

Sorry guys, but this week has been extremely hectic for me. Have barely been able to keep up with discussions, let alone take part in them. Add to the hectic week is the fact I’ll be gone all weekend long. I’ve leaving Friday (April 7th) and getting back on Sunday (April 9th). Please skip me until than. Interesting variant.

I am wondering the following:
1. I bet your own city will be one of the high-culture cities?
2. Are you able to use your GP on your ally's cities? like great artist? If so, you should aim for generating a lot of GA's and use them to boost your ally's culture.

I think you should have Philosophical trait, and leave Industrial to your ally. Creative is not important, considering only 2cpt.

Are you permanent allies from the beginning or only after Communism?

I hate to do this, but I'm going to have to cancel this game before it even starts. RL has been extremely busy these past couple of months and only seem to be getting busier. I barely have time for myself, let alone Civ4. I believe I'm going to have to finish out my current games and take a break from SG's for a little while. Hopefully not too long though, as I really enjoy them.

Sorry everyone, but RL keeps rearing its ugly head. I believe its more due to being spring than anything. Too many projects and stuff.
