Metropolis 2: An Action Chatroom

Name: Mike Edgar Hoover.
Age: 17

Power: Mike has the unusual ability of energy manipulation. He can manipulate his 'ki' into the forum of an energy attack (like Dragon Ball Z). He also has the ability to fly using his ki (also like Dragon Ball Z). On top of that, Mike is really, really fast.
Bio: Mike had always hated his legacy of being related to THE J. Edgar Hoover (the first FBI director). His parents had always told him that he was to serve the community by being an FBI agent (even though he wanted to be in the Army or become a farmer). One day when he was in grade school -at a private school- he discovered a secret that his parents had kept from him since he was born: he could fly. He then made the mistake of showing that power to his friends and they left him, claiming him to be a 'weirdo.' when he came home, he asked his parents why they kept that secret from him (since he thought it was cool that he could fly). They said that would make him an outcast if he ever discovered it and shared it with people.

A few years later, during freshmen orientation, Mike learned another secret: he could control energy and make energy attacks (which, he also thought was cool since it was like being a Dragon Ball Z character -which was his favorite show-). But, his power got out of hand and killed 20 students (including his crush). So, he was expelled from school and forced to live out on the streets because his parents did not take him after that. Several months later, he got revenge on his parents and his school.

One day when he was walking in his neighborhood, he decided to visit his parents. When he got to his former house, he discovered that his parents had adopted a child (who was named Mike Edgar) and decided what he was going to do: he was going to kill the boy. He then was greeted by his parents with mean glares. He then said that he was going to have a 'talk' with the new Mike Edgar Hoover. He then took little Mike up to his room and then shot him in the heart with an energy beam. He then flew out the window and lit up the entire block, leaving no survivors. Now he looks around for anybody who might take him in. Even if it is a team of bad guys, since he knows that they would treat him like the family he's always wanted.

So you are wondering what happened to the school. I'll tell you: he simply blew it up when school was in session, then tracked down and killed the people who were absent that day (as well as their families). There were no survivors.

Mockingbird log, May 1st, [date blurred, as though with water stain].

Woke up this morning with an email from my League contact. He wanted me to come see him. Pity. I'd wanted to do a little selfbondage today but . . . duty calls. Reluctantly, I put away all my toys, donned my outfit and became the Mockingbird.

It's almost supernatural what happens when I put that costume on. Reva Thompson just vanishes. She's a girl - flesh and blood, mortal. She went to college, works part-time at the library and at Starbucks. She enjoys selfbondage, fantasy novels, and curling up on the couch with Mayhem in her lap, trying to prevent the little troublemaker from licking her. In many ways, it's almost like the subspace from a good bondage session - I'm not Reva anymore. Sure, instead of a slave or a prisoner I'm a superheroine, but it's the same principle. Anyway, enough rambling.

I showed up and was introduced to some man in a dark suit. He told me the previous team had been decimated - one member KIA, another captured, and the third now under constant watch. I must have impressed him - I said that I was prepared, unlike them. I asked about the guards and he told me something about the Gunslinger - doesn't sound that tough to me. The dommes at the club have more frightening nicknames. Plus, I'm fairly sure they've killed more people than the Gunslinger has.

I went in right at dawn. It was child's play to tightrope onto their roof using a grapple arrow, and even easier to pick the lock. I took out a pair of guards on the stairs, but one screamed and alerted the rest of them. I forced my way downstairs and fired a knockout gas arrow through a door, but apparently I missed and I was nearly shot with some sort of electrical weapon.

I threw the head of a KOG arrow into the room and took out a few more men, but slipped up when I tried to grapple the gun away from one of two men in power armor. I was hit in the arm and had to duck for cover. It was pretty bad. About that point I was able to use the grapple - which had missed and hit a cell door - to free the captive agent . . . "Mirage." He fired bolts of electricity from his hands - impressing me - that took out most of the guards.

Some man came running down the stairs and I played dead. He came up to me, started to say something - I could tell he was Legion. I was badly hurt and I could tell he was going to attack me, or rape me, or do SOMETHING to me. I didn't have a choice. I rolled over, raised my gun, and shot him in the neck. He never made a sound. He had two syringes and a knife on him with strange markings - I took it, then set his body on fire and rolled it into the doorway.

That must have freaked the enemy out. Two of them tried to run past the body, but one knocked himself out tripping and the other started pleading with me for his life. I told him to tell the power armored guys to take their armor off, saying I had a devise that would kill them, but they shot him and started for me. Mirage tried to help, but one got in close. I shoved him into the hall, then grabbed a fallen electric gun and shot his armor, electrocuting him. The last one surrendered as another League member came in.

He was possessed - firing forcefields at random. I knocked him out with gas, then me and Mirage got him to a helicopter. I put them aboard, then gave Mirage one of the syringes and told him to get it analyzed. I headed home after that.

I've attached my notes on the analysis process I ran of the syringe I kept. I've replicated its effects approximately, but I'll have to run some more tests to ensure it's nonlethal. I've also synthesized an antidote, but it isn't perfect and I need to ascertain what the unknown components are.

Now, since I've fixed up my arm, I think it's time I head upstairs. That selfbondage session has been delayed for too long, and I can hear the cuffs and gags calling me. When I'm done, I'll probably stay in for the night and analyze the compounds some more, then try and get some sleep - I've got to work early tomorrow at Starbucks. I'll invent an excuse for my injury.

Name: Postmaster General (Secret identity: Bill Thomas Killman)

Power: Whenever Postmaster General says "Nothing stops the mail" all of his various injuries(including mental illnesses) heal and he springs up, ready to continue his mission. Unfortunately, he can only do this every so often, and Bill Thomas Killman cannot do it at all.

Bio: Bill was born in a log cabin in the woods near Philadelphia. His mother was a federal judge, his father a simple postman. Throughout his childhood, his sole hero was Benjamin Franklin, inventor of the mail. For some reason, he was always a disappointment to his mother.

Bill went to school at that prestigious school of mail deliver, Post U, located in the scenic Mojave desert. There, he learned the art of expert mail delivery from the greatest of postmen ever, Josephine the Indefatigable. She taught him many things, from how to recognize houses with dogs to how to drive really slowly.

Bill Thomas Killman graduated from Post U Summa Cum Laude, and eager to begin his lifelong career as those unstoppable deliverers of interpersonal correspondence. Unfortunately, it was not to be...

Upon the eave of his assignment to the prestigious district of Andale, VA, he was stricken with a cold. The cold ravaged his body with sniffles and blurry eyes, leaving a single freckle upon his nose. That freckle ruined his life, as he was deemed unfit to wear the uniform of a mailman with such a physical deformity.

Dejected and hopeless, Bill took up a career as an office b**** with Morrison's Investment Cooperative. His job was pointless and mind dulling, so he dreamed of what he wished to be instead.

One night, one of Bill's friends was kidnapped and a ransom demand was issued over the TV. Bill decided this wouldn't do, so he took up his old uniform, added some padding and a mask, and set off to rescue his friend as the Postmaster General!

Striking from the open, Bill's fervor overcame the bullets and stones of the kidnappers, and he saved his friend's life. She thanked the Postmaster General with a kiss, and was returned to her home.

Since then, Bill Thomas Killman, AKA the Postmaster General, has watched over Washington, D.C. for signs of trouble, reviving the ancient words:

"Not rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor the heat of summer, not the cold of winter, nor mere bullets, nor the might of all the armies of man shall stop this appointed carrier from performing his rounds."

:twitch: It's decided. I'm not reading LH's char's RP. First, cuz it's... "Lighthearty" if you know what I mean and second cuz... it doesn't really matter, but it's terribly biased and untrue. :p
 
I'm not limiting Legion since all it is doing is making is so individual League players get more attention in a mission than Legion players (sad but true).

Legion mission is six minutes.

Might as well post my character. Can't say I'll be able to join missions yet, but I might as well post him.

Name: Cervantes (Real name yet to be translated.)
Age: Unknown
Appearance: Around 9 feet tall. He has a dragon-like appearance with brownish-red scales (but no wings). He wears red and gray colored battle armor of unknown origin.
Allegiance: League
Bio: In an effort to improve response times to emergency calls, League scientists were working on creating a teleportation system to whisk heroes away to where they were needed. Due to a computing error, however, the destination veered off course by several thousand light-years. In an effort to save the test subject from being sent into deep space, the head scientist quickly reversed the polarity to make the teleport receive rather than send. While this would have summoned some Lovecraftian demon from the farthest reaches of the galaxy in some other story, the scientists instead found themselves facing a tall, scaly, armed, and very confused alien creature. After a brief firefight which promptly ended the teleportation project for good, the alien was subdued and whisked off to a research facility.

Eventually, the decision came down from high that it was worth it to keep the strange alien around. He was painstakingly taught English and how to behave among humans by a dedicated team of scientists. Since his name was deemed unpronounceable by even the most gifted linguists, the scientific team gave him the nickname Cervantes, suggested by a researcher with a minor in English. He seemed to like it, so the name stuck. Eventually, the League high command offered to let Cervantes do some work for them. Seeing as he was rather bored of the constant clan warfare on his own planet and had no strong desire to return, he accepted.

To make a long story short.

Powers:
He’s a walking tank. In addition to the sturdy armor he already wears, his scaled skin offers great protection against gunfire and blades. He could even dive on a grenade to save his friends and walk away with nothing more than a slight headache from the noise. On the other hand, the great protection inherent to his species means that he’ll have more than a little trouble doing acrobatics.

Can I get a Golden Gun as level up? As a special weapon, very powerful but takes 1 turn to recharge between shots, or something like that...

Otherwise, I'll pick "shockwaves" (sending small forcefields at high velocity towards an enemy, as to stun him)

Which admittedly never stopped ME from killing MY games, but who cares about that! We all love Metro 2 and you're much better at GMing it than you think!

CONTINUE METRO 2! I'll even start playing the game like I'm supposed to for once!

I'm desperate as well, but I've chosen to wallow in self-pity. :p

I'm entertaining the idea of starting my own AC with a similar theme if this doesn't arise from the grave.
