1789 being to early, we can safely guess 1673 is also to early.
And they are not Turkish, nor Polish.

As always, I read only some of the posts before mine, not all of them.

I give you an hint. As I'm sick of your lack of knowledge ;) I will give the answer next friday if nobody find it before that.
I won't be home for two days, so you have time to think a bit about it.
Friday is the deadline because after that I'm going for 12 days in the US for a business trip.

Have fun!

First Anglo-Sikh war. Battle of Sobraon? Don't know what the surprise was but the British got the Koh-I-Noor diamond from that war. Is that something to do with it?

Almost correct.

Chillianwalla, 13 January 1849
Ghorchurras collide with a squadron of the 3rd light dragoon.

The surprise for the British: they discovered that Sikh cavalrymen were much better equipped for close-combat (sharper and better-made swords, and effective protections in the form of shields, armour and wadded cloths)

Ok, lets see.

Which clandestine unit did the members of this color guard belong to and what famous operation did they take part in?

All these aircraft show a pictorial montage of this pilots career as he moved up the ranks.

Name the pilot.

thats not chuck yeagar is it?
oh oh oh... chuck horner?

ok wait no. I think I know.... i looked in a book, and double checked in a web site... but is it Major General Albert Boyd. He was in a highly modified Lockheed P-80R at Edwards, to set a land speed record I think. 620 mph? i cant remember. BUT i did do a report on him, he was the father of the modern test pilot school.

No, not Albert Boyd.
If you can tell me what the aircraft are and why they related to this man you get bonus points.
Here is a few basic clues...

He played a key role in the development of Aircraft 3

Aircraft 6 is his personal all time favourite aircraft.

well aircraft # 6 is being flown by Chuck Yeager, the man in pic # 3 is Chuck Yeager
