Military "Pictionary" Game II

Is it Müntzer and the farmers wars during the time of the reformation?

Yes indeed!:goodjob: Can you also give the exact battle and year?
Anyway, since somebody a while ago used this thread to a political statement (especially since I reckon there will be a long time until I will be able to get the opportunity again!), an old anarchist couldn't resist the opportunity to remind that an important function of the military is to protect the domestic ruling class.
Even if this very bloody conflict is nothing to romanticize, as the rebelling peasants were both brutal and without any real political program , Eric Hobsbawm has a point: if you treat people like beasts they will eventually behave accordingly. Besides the retaliation after these upheavals had been put down, was terrible. In my youth it cured me for any admiration for dr. Martin Luther...
So let this be my little tribute for people anywhere at any time who have been struggling for justice and a better life.
Over to you, Adler17.:)

It was the battle of Frankenhausen 1525, where Müntzer was captured and 12 days later executed (in Mühlhausen).
I identified Werner Tübke´s Bauernkriegspanorama (peasant war panorama), a munumental painting in Bad Frankenhausen. The painter died this year and so I knew the picture.
I will soon post a good question.

Józef Antoni Poniatowski (May 7, 1763 – October 19, 1813), Polish prince and marshal of France, died at Leipzig just after having been made Marshal by Napoleon

His picture

The flag of Poland

memorial to the battle of nation at Leipzig

Napoleon

Nice question and hint, but to easy

Yup, he is. I thought it was a bit more difficulty. Nevertheless it is Poniatowski. His family was a noble one with roots far back into history, but nevertheless not well known. Józefs father became the German nobility in 1765 and his uncle was the last Polish king making his brothers to Princes.
Poniatowski became a Polish nationalist in the service of Napoleon. He was a very competent and brave general. His last order was to secure the retreat of the French army after Leipzig. He replied only to have too weak forces to do so, but Napoleon replied he had to use what he has. So Poniatowski went back to his troops, only 2000 men left. He fought bravely but he retreated until he came with his men to a bridge full of guns and men. He couldn´t use it, so he gave the order to attack the enemy. In this last fight, the horse lost contact with the bottom in a river and both drowned. Several days later the dead body was found and buried with all military honours. After the war the remains were brought back to Poland.
Napoleon said on Elba if he was successful in Russia he made Poniatowski king of Poland.

So it is over to you, Steph.
