Minecraft

Well I'm going on a hiatus. I recently broke Minecraft trying to install the MineColony mod into the .jar. Now it doesn't load, and I've had enough Minecraft headaches for a few days.

What scamp said, but when you install the mod use TCF's(TomFromCollege)modloader.

Amerasteras is also a very cool seed, including this really epic spot to build at:

Z:-68

I dont know if macs use the new launcher or not, but undr options it points to the minecraft directory. If not, if macs are anything like linux the minecraft folder is ~/.minecraft. Just delete the bin folder

This game makes for some odd neighbors. My SMP server has a giant cobblestone pyramid and a semi-eiffel tower look alike right next to a star destroyer with a mario decal.

And now, a tour of my place on the CFC server.

The entrance to my home, in the cliffsides of Port Geoff.

mc1.png

Just inside the doorway is reception.

mc2.png

That big glass box in the cliffside has its entrance from reception. From here I can look out and watch the peasants toiling in the fields my fellow citizens building.

mc3.png

At the end of the reception hallway, is my zoo. (Don't feed the skeletons)

mc4.png

Down those stairs along the skeleton enclosure is the grand foyer. From here it branches out in three different directions.

mc5.png

To the right
Spoiler :

To the right is my farm. The glass ceiling looks out into a little valley sort of thing on the outside of Port Geoff. That wood along the wall is from Kan's place. Its on the other side of the wall.

Straight
Spoiler :

Down the hall immediately across is my workshop. Its an overhanging room overlooking my cavern. Out the glass windows you can see the beginnings of my library. That bridge you see connects my library to the farm. There is also a staircase immediately to my left that goes from my workshop to the library.

mc8.png

And the library itself.

mc12.png

What is underneath that bridge. Still very much a work in progress down here. Directly behind me leads to The Gnome's Arm Tavern and Inn. In fact, I'm standing on the wooden staircase to it in this screenshot. I'm not sure exactly who built The Gnome's Arm.

mc13.png

To the left
Spoiler :

To the left is this hallway. You can see the edge of my library behind the glass there.

mc9.png

If you go up that staircase along the lefthand side of the hallway you reach here, the docks. Here you can see Captain2's ship.

mc10.png

And the view from the docks looking in. Again, the library there. All three directions from the grand foyer connect with each other at the library.

mc11.png

If you look down from the waterfall at the end the hallway, you see this. A staircase down, wrapping around the waterfall.

mc14.png

This staircase goes all the way down to the bottom. And here, you will find the future home of the Ministry of Silly Walks' U-Boat pen. You may notice there is no U-Boat. Or pen really. Unfortunately, sponges aren't quite working properly, so this project is on hold.

I believe you, but what's the source?

Edit: NVM found it. The source is jeb's twitter if anyone cares.

Guess what is coming in the next minecraft patch!

Chucki Husky!?

I wonder if sheep/pigs/cows/chickens will be 'tamable' (if they haven't been already - never did buy the game) in that you can keep them in a pen (or some other arrangement) permenantly without having them vanish/respawn like their wild mob cousins. They should bring back the eating grass thing, though. Too small of a pen size, and your sheep might get hungry from lack of grass (and/or mobfeed). Mobfeed might be wheat and fish. I wonder if the wolves will go after your sheep/pigs/chickens.

BTW, there's a youtube user, mmillss who has sort of a "Block Tourist" podcast (he's doing the 404 challenge). Maybe you can tell him about the CFC minecraft server.

I want monkeys and parrots for tropical forest biomes and frogs for the swamps.

I also think it would be awesome if the parrots made speech bubbles occasionally - just random stuff along the same lines as the yellow text on the main menu.
