[Mini Mafia] The Social Experiment

Based on that, I'll Vote:GeneralOlaf and Vote:Verarde. Olaf because he's participating, and Verarde because he questions the authenticity of such a broad clue; to me it sounds like you're trying to direct attention away from it.

I'll place my votes on Vote: BigTin, and Vote: SouthernKing. No vote for vote, landlubber.

Vote:Big Tin and Vote:General Olaf are both very active in the thread.

I'm a little confused.
Somebody please tell me the logic of the votes on me?

I'm not sure.... maybe a possible bandwagon started by the mafia??

General Olaf because of a clue?

I will vote, based on a clue, but also on their votes/comments:
vote: Red Spy (bandwagon?)
vote: Verarde (as Landlubber pointed out, this clue is so broad it probably is authentic)

(OOC: Point on clue games- if a mafioso is a no show, we should receive a 'true' clue for them from the host)

I thought there was going to be 3 mafia?

Anyway, nice clue in a way, because it tells us exactly nothing. Being a true clue would be a risk, because it would provide more info at the end of the game when there are less players alive (the mafia would have to try and keep the possibilities alive). So I'm guessing it's a false clue trying to look like a true clue (or the mafia didn't think it through enough).

There are a few options for inactives (and the active mafia wouldn't implicate their partner anymore than they'd implicate themselves, assuming it's a false clue), so I'll go for civplayah. Kennigit for the other vote, because it's a pretty smart clue.

Guys the odds are that the clue is false. Any intelligent mafia would make broad clues like that which are false yo put suspicion else where. But just in case it is true I vote Red Spy. If it isn't I vote Kennigit as he(?) Sounds pretty smart.
Vote: Red Spy
Vote: Kennigit

Why would they make broad clues that are false as opposed to narrow clues that are false? Observe:
Mafia: Vanilla Ice Cream with Sprinkles.
The first day of this game saw these two clues emerge:
A shadowy figure walks into the room of Winston Hughes, and a frenzy of stabbing all that was left a was a pile of meat and blood. The killer looked away, he couldn't stand the sight of bloody meat.
Takhisis was killed with a knife in his pink heart.
They're both very obvious: civplayah's very user title is "Ethical Vegetarian," so it fits that he's the one who can't stand the sight of bloody meat. LightFang has an avatar with a pink heart in it. Again, a very obvious frame. Both of these clues ended up being false. From my (admittedly limited) experience with clue games, the mafia prefer frames that force the town to bandwagon one player as opposed to broad clues that just confuse the town.

Yeah, that's true. But they don't like true clues that are easy to interpret either (if it is a true clue, then it's a mistake, because it directly and clearly narrows the options). They might like false clues that look like true clues, though.

so, in the end it al comes down to two questions:

1) How far did the Mafia think this clue through?

2) how far are we going to think it through?

#Camikaze:

I think this clue is less of concern for mafia, because there are 2 (or 3? I am not sure) of them. And even if this clue is true, it gives us info like "1 of the mafia members is among this half of players" - it is not much. Especially because they can, of course, choose whom they would kill...

skwink, you are very lucky that I came on this site today; before now i had completely forgotten about this game! Anyway, I'm here now and ready to play, and since I have no idea about the clue I'll go with the popular choices and say Kennigit and Red Spy

I'll abstain and abstain

Olaf and Jarrema

I dunno.

Update coming soon, if you're waiting to vote do so now.

Red Spy and Jarrema will do. Not much more than RNG votes really.

Vote: Kennigit[/B]

oooooh I'm flattered! However, I am absolutely aweful at clue games.

and my votes shall be bigtin and general olaf, if it's not too late. That's quite the cop-out by bigtin there.

and yeah, I thought if mafia didn't show up it was a true clue?
