Morning 6 in the Carnival House
As per usual, the housemates emerged and took their place at the breakfast table. The voice of Davina soon crackled into action and confirmed what they already knew to be true.
''Carnival House! This.. Is.. Davina! The result of last night's nomination was!:
''He was!:
''The nominations were!:
One item was found in his room. Votes for the Butterknife are in bold Yellow
The voice of Davina shortly returns to say, ''Housemates! This.. is.. Davina! By decree of the Good Lord Perpentach, the Ticket to Freedom now costs only 6 tokens! Praise his benevolence!''

You can't abstain. You loose one strength every time you do and if you do it too often you get replaced. An abstention also counts as an extra vote against you.
Oh and BTW, I think I've got a reasonably good theory, and no reason not to share it.
I inititally didn't think there were agents, but it was pointed out that this was impossible. However, I have thought on it, and discovered that there is another way for both the ruleset and my theory to be true.
The DEAD are the agents of the mad king. Every time somebody dies, the skeleton's one strength helps the mad king against us. The rest of us living are all good guys.
EDIT: And in order to stop this from happening, we REALLY need an Engine. So if somebody would just tell me where it is, that'd be great.

Look very carefully at the win conditions:
This is your victory condition. All contestants must first survive, if you do not survive then you cannot win, even if the rest of your team does. Innocents will need to escape through the Door to Freedom, Agents will need to overwhelm the Innocents before the Door opens by having a higher total strength. Every time a player is killed, Perpentach will reveal whether they were an Agent or an Innocent.
Nothing suggests that nominating the agents is effective. This is purely a strength based affair. Us against the dead.
Now what is very interesting is that the kill against the princess failed. Im betting you have two strength princess - am I right?

Lets assume then that the mechanism in the house starts off with one strength. Thats why it failed on you -- unless you have an ability I dont know about.
If you look carefully at the ruleset, youll see that there is an interesting difference between this NOTW and other NOTWs. If a killer has lower strength, there is still a chance they can kill their target. In my hypothetical scenario, this prevents the innocents from just bashing the house over and over at a high strength target.
