Minor Suggestions Thread

The thing is Red and Gold at least represent a part of Russian history and they were Russia colours during most of the 20th century. While Germany never used grey and black as it's colours, Prussia used black and white. While Gold and Black were used by the Holy Roman Empire and modern day Germany, making them the best choie for Germany.
Wikipedia isn't the best source, but it seems to have been Russia's color since the 16th century.

I interpret Germany's grey as a stand-in for Prussia's white. And white-black were the major colors of the German Empire until 1918.

Grey is a good compromise, because black and white are already taken: Barbarians and Japan.

It's just too much alike Byzantine and Independents colors.

What about pink, to make the mod more appealing to women and gay men? ;)

Only if all occupied horse ressources turn to unicorns and tanks are camouflaged in the colours of the rainbow :p

...And the wolves and bears turn into chihuahua's and teddy's.

Of course the lion's would become 'Hello Kitty's' and the spies (male and female) would carry Prada-bags.

Oh, and of course the spear- and pikemen would carry giant dildo's... :p

I think it would be nice if Rhye changed Germany's colour and flag. In my opinion the Germans should have the BtS HRE yellow and an eagle as a flag and not grey and the Iron Cross as it is right now. It's sometimes hard to differentiate between a German or an independent city on the world map.

it ain't gonna happen.
Actually, Germany was made grey in civ4 after my request. Otherwise it would have been orange

Then they would've made the Dutch color something else than orange and that would be of course blasfemy.
Now you know how it feels when someone steps in and suggests an inappropriate color for your home country :p

Wow. Then we have to thank you SO MUCH :)

I take back everything I said about the grey? I really wonder how they got the idea of making Germany orange? :crazyeye:

I am going with: It wasn't in use and was different from the other colours. Or the designer just happened to like the colour.

Oh, I see you're from Oldenburg. Isn't that in the Netherlands already? :hide:

 NOOOO ;)

Oldenzaal is, Oldenburg isn't AFAIK. Seems that you know our geography pretty well though since it isn't the most worldwide known city in the Netherlands.:p

there are two Oldenburg´s in Germany, one is 70 km northwest of Bremen, the other one is north of Hamburg. I think he just wanted to make a joke with it.

Well, most Europeans also don't know where Wisconsin, Oklahoma and South Dakota are, so I think that's only fair.

Now I'm wondering if Americans know :p
