[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

A note on razing AV cities and the AC:
Don't believe that the counter doesn't decrease when razing a city. Remember that there are other things going on during a turn and you only get to see the net change.

(At least I'm pretty sure that the counter only updates during two turns... if not sorry ;) )

Ok, as several people now mentioned: it's a problem now, that no one wants to found the Ashen Veil. Only the Sheaim MAY do it from time to time, and often they are not even in the game. It's my third game now (two with Valledia, one with Alexis) with 2021, I am near techtree-end and still nothing happens. I'm surprised. I thought the KI would give everything to get any religion!? And I am getting paranoid: does the KI know, what happens if the Ashen Veil is founded!?

Btw: does the AC really work? It does slowly rise to 10-20 during the whole game, didn't rise, when Octopus' Necronomicon was build or the Prophecy of Ragnarök etc... near end now it doesn't even rise, when I mercilessly raze barbarian cities en masse... something glitched?

the position where shoulded be the icon of gold is actually the icon of alumium. And many other icon are in wrong position .Why?And how can i solve the problem?

Sounds like you didn't install the mod in the right folder or messed something else up during installation.
I recommend that you delete the old folder and do a fresh, clean install of the current version.

Well in my games after razing AV cities as Kilmorph Khazad, A counter was maintained. My opinion is that AV religion in city gives +1AC, so when you razed tha city, AC was not boosted by AV in city. So AC got -1, but fat of razing was +1. So ofset was 0 = no change to counter.
At least in my b patch game. Anyway i never razed more than 3 cities in ANY of my games.

Regarding the AC I noticed this.

1) if you razed an av city of 1 pop the AC will decrase immediatly by 1.

2) if you conquest an av city of 2 or more pop the AC remains the same

3) if you conquest and raze an av city of 2 or more pop the AC remains the same.

In my game I could decrase the AC only by conquesting av cities of 1 pop.. but in no other ways. Perhaps it should be nice to introduce other ways to decrase the AC (for example, every 10 evil units killed -1, every av city razed -2 ...). Playing the goods, in my opinion, it's a bit frustrating cannot do anything against the raise of the AC..

Ave, :salute:

Try conquereing AV city and use high priest of order to build Temple and bring state of Order in the city. (disciple unit must be higher tier than thane/savant/priest). This lowers AC by -1 for "killing" AV state in city and not razing it. Thats how LAWFULL GOOD would do. Chaotic Good is more to raze "evil".

Besides i told you of a cheay ;) make pollution, and clear it with cleansing spell. -1 AC and can be done unlimeted amount of times :D.

So, correct me if I'm wrong here, but if one of our spells is about to cause a declaration of war, then we are supposed to get a warning pop-up before it goes off, yeah?

Doesn't seem to be the case with all spells, whichever the case. I had a Liche whammy off a Contagion on a city without noticing a third civ, neutral in the conflict but with Open Borders to my enemy, having units in the city, and sure as sugar I'm at war with them too before I know it.

Ac works. In some games faster, in others slower. Remeber, than there is whole turn going on, so if you do something to rise AC, AI can do something to lower it.

Prophecy of Rangarok, doesnt increace AC just by it self, but units built in that city have the mark. Each mark promotion = +1AC point. But if that unit is disbanded, or dies, AC looses the point.

AV state is +1AC counter. The more Ashan Veil in cities, the higher AC (good if you have Stigmat on the unborn, +57% is my best :) )

Thank you very much for the trick about the pollution, good to know, but i prefer to use a more challenging solution like the second way you mentioned.

I'm going to try it...

I have to agree to what some others already mentioned: the new research path for the Ashen Veil basically means that no one creates Hyborean anymore and I also have not seen all that many Ashen Veil civs recently :)

Don't get me wrong: that Hyborean doesn't automatically spawn in his summoners lands anymore is a good idea. I more or less stopped using the Ashen Veil because it always led to trouble with Hyborean.

But the situation now seems to be that if the human player doesn't summon him no one will. A side effect of this is, that the AC almost never rises above somehting like 10 or so in my games (but that could be because of my setting, I play on Huge maps with 10 other civs).

Anyway, FfH ist the best mod out there! I'd just like to see more of the Horrible Forces of Evil :D

The idea to summon Hyborems with the discovery of Infernal pact is very good. I think it improves the gameplay in the middle of the match adding one other civ (above all for the human that plays a good civ) and making the ffh2 scenario more dynamic and deep.

But actually it doesn't seem to work.. it's a pity because the Hyborem has a very impressive UU such as Hyborem itself, a piece of graphic art!!

ave,

:salute:

Ah, yes, you are right of course. It's not that I don't like the idea of splitting Hyborean from the founding of the Ashen Veil or that I don't think that a new civ enhances the mid-game.

It's just that the AI doesn't seem to grasp the concept or is unwilling to summon the Destroyer of Worlds (which is actually quite understandable)...

Hi - quick question about Acheron. I apologize - I know this must have been answered in this thread before.

Does Acheron spawn every game or is it random? When he does appear, is it in a specific turn or a range of turns?

Oops, that was two questions :-) Thanks for any answers!

Acheron is built by the barbarians and shoulld appear in almost all games that have barbarians. When he appears depends upon many things including level of difficulty and whether there is barbarian city that has been in existance long enough to build him. I have no idea how long it takes to do that.

Ah actually the Ai should summon Hyborem, but it is currently bugged. ironically the bug is because we programmed an Ai "rush" to summon him. it should be fixed in the next version.

That's good news if spawns likes Archy. As it is, he is a terrible neighbor for the summoner.

I didn't see this posted by anyone as a bug.

Since the C patch, the Cauldron of Mokka seems bugged. Every time I kill one of the undead units in the city spawned by the Cauldron, the game crashes as soon as it is the computer's turn. It basically created an unconquorable city.

Rounding errors... when 100% just won't cut it ;)

And while I have this up, note the AC. Just as it hit 100 i got a CTD. Does that always happen?
