[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I can't seem to get Shrine of the Champion built. I have killed my hero (it has to be the Civs. particular hero right?) but I don't get to see the building option.

Also I am not having all the Armageddon announcements occur. One game I got none at all, the last one I got the 11 point warning but nothing after that. (only got counter up to 32, but that should have still been the next level).

Which Hero did you kill?

If you were the Luchuirp, Barnaxus isn't really dead, just disassembled, so you can never build it.

If you were the Lanun, Guybrush has to die, not the Black Wind.

If you were the Doviello, The War Machine has to die, not Lucian.

If you were the Grigori, you'll get another Adventurer shortly, nobody is that concerned over any particular one of them being dead, so you can never build it.

I think that covers all the odd cases, but I may have missed one.

Ah, thanks it was Barnaxus.

It would help if that information was in the wonder desripction.

Also why not let there be a way for these to build it, say lose either your Civs. hero or 2-3 other heroes (doesn't seem fair that some just can't get it)

Are the labellings for the 'eras' on the custom game setup expected to work? I see only the standard ones and the ones after that say ( see attached ).
I've randomly chosen a couple of those with weired results. A game start once for example, in 0.32 and I have 4 Big Wearwolf World units, even though the world-unit limit is 1 for the that Lord BainWhateverHisNameIs werewolf.

So, in general, are the 'eras' in the customer game screen expected to be differant from what I see?

Those are responsiblefor the look of your cities. In normal civ its dependent from your area, but in ffh you have differnt looking cities depending on your religion.
For example the txt_key_erea_empy is emperyan.
And they are not supposed to get chosen in WB or customized games.

i'd just like to say thanks for this great mod. wasn't something i thought i'd like, but i was proven wrong. thanks guys

After installing patch e, I can't get a game started. I'm receiving an error:

"GFC Error: Failed to initialize the primary control theme."

Any ideas?

That means it cant find the resource files. Did you install the main 0.33 download too? This error would also occur if you renamed the "Fall from Heaven 2 033" directory.

I re-installed 0.33 and patch e. Seems to be working fine now. Not sure what it was, but I think I'm all set.

Thanks!

Awesome update, I havent been playing for a few months but im back on now :D I have to say this though, I have said it before but the Arquebus(or whatever) really needs new unit art, its a very common late game unit and it looks REALLY out of place with the whole setting, aside from that great job!

I can't believe how good this mod is, it's an obvious labour of love and you guys deserve massive props... and cake

When is .34 scheduled to be released? Or that hasn't been decided yet?

Question, the media pack adds longer movies to the game, but what is this exactly? Wonder movies, intro movies? What does the media pack do?
(not talking about the media pack for the vanilla version)

Where is metamagic explained? The Civipedia entry is still blank and I didn't see anything in one? of the wikis floating around...

Metamagic is accessed via Sorcery - for each level 5% additional damage is done, and the target has 5% less spell resistance. So Maelstrom would do an additional 15% damage if cast by an Archmage with Level III, whilst Charm Person would be 15% harder to resist

Spells that can be cast;
Level I Floating Eye -Summons Floating Eye: Recon unit, 4 range
Level II Dispel Magic -Destroys Mana Nodes, reverting them to raw nodes
Level III Summon Djinn - a 1 strength +1 affinity to any mana, 2 movement unit (so if you have 5 sources of *any* mana it will have 1+5 strength.

A release day hasn't been set. No time soon.

Hi Kael,

It seems that elves are overpowered. Any balance changes to expect ?

Nope, though definitly powerful compared to a normal Civ4 civ they are about right compared to other FfH civs. The only civ that is a significant balance problem right now (in my opinion) is the Balseraphs which need a little more balance around some of their new abilities.

It adds longer versions of many of the exisiting intro, wonder and religion movies.

Patch "f" is linked in the first post. It won't break save games and makes the following changes:

1. Fixed an error with isTrait in the wonder spell.
2. Fixed a crash in the Wonder spell from barb players casting.
3. Fixed an issue where there "Add to Freak Show" ability was always available even if the city already had that sort of cage.
4. No AI combat units (ie: everything except slaves and workers) is allowed to adopt the UNITAI_WORKER UnitAI.
5. Fixed an issue that could allow you to build civ heores in Tolerant taken cities.
6. Fixed some Somnium attitude settings (previously a lot of leaders didnt offer any +/- for games).

Elves have been more or less banned in our MP games due to the fact that the get a production boost, food boost, MASSIVE health and happiness boost (guardian of nature with forrests on every tile is massive), a defence advantage (chance of treeent spawning on every tile if all covered in forrest and guardian of nature civic running) and an economic advantage (you never have to build anything but cottages unless you have a resource underneath).

Disadvantages to playing the elves... a minor penalty if your opponent specialises his forces for killing elves... and the fact that AC will destroy your forrest (and thereby economy)... if it ever gets high enough to enter your lands... so in other words svartalfar has got alot more at risk than ljosalfar due to them beeing evil if they choose to run way of the forrest religion.

If not overpowered I would like to hear how you figure they are not?

Not complaining, just wondering... other than that I love the elves... just not for multiplayer due to the facts stated above.

You can burn forests with fireballs, so that could destroy the elves economic advantage.
Probably Scorch should turn forested plains into unforested deserts?
Plus elves can't chop even if they want to, which means chopping might be boosted a bit to balance that drawback.
I believe Guardian of Nature comes late enough not to be such a big problem.
