[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

It used to give crashes. It should be working in 0.15j. What version are you running?

Hm, I am using that version.. I'll reidownload and renstall it later, and see if it makes a difference.

Could we have Messages whenever a civ start's work on a ritual? That way i f i don't like what they're building i can go destroy that city? I think that rituals are big enough projects that they couldn't be hidden.

I wouldn't like this. It's only fun so long as the AI doesn't do it. And if the AI isn't able to do it, it's not fun either.

I would like to say that the assassin mod need to be implanted so that we can use the assassin more often to cause some panic around the cities.

In a world where the cities are being pummeled with exploding balls of fire, flying cows, demons and the animated corpse of your aunt millie, assassins aren't such a big deal.

There is a new version uploaded. It takes the load times down from 8-9 minutes to 45-90 seconds.

But I had to make huge changes to do that. Path "k" is different then most of our patches for the following reasons:

1. You have to download the full mod to get it.

2. It installs to a new directory (Fall from Heaven 2 015k) instead of the standard 'Fall from Heaven 2 015' directory. Do not change this and install it on top of your current 015 install or it will be just as slow or slower than it currently is.

3. It will break save games.

Sorry, that's not what I meant to say:blush:

It does contain a few other fixes so it may be worthwile for those. But if your time is that low I assume you either:

1. Have a very nice computer you need to send me so I can mod faster

or

2. Are running it out to the My Game directory

I dont recommend running it out of the My Games directory, it breaks some of the graphics and I dont do any testing on that config. Im probably just gunshy because early on hardly anything worked out of the My Games directory. But I think the load times will be very comparable, if not better, with this version installed normally rather than installing in My Games.

I agree.

If an evil civ is working on armageddon.

As the holy Order, I would put it upon myself to stop them.

It would help the game alot. :)

Do Kuriotate settlements still give OOC flashing messages in multi? Or was that in the 0.16 fix..

Are you ready to realease any more details on fire?

I'm running it out of install directory. Just loads fast I guess.

Cool, you will need to send me your computer for investigation. :mischief:

Kael, could it be possible to have a patch k "bis" that will not break save games (without faster load) ?
Or a way to convert save games from j to k ?

Since "k" installs into a seperate directory you will still have your "j" build to play your save game with. There is no easy way to convert save games from "j" to "k" (technically you could save it as a scenerio, edit it with notepad to change the mod name and then reload it in k, but you will loose all the production progress and probably other stuff as well).

I would gladly send it to you to help the cause but I don't think I can afford the postage to send it to Ohio from Virginia.

With patch k, Civ IV ---> FfH ---> saved game loads about as fast as I can move the mouse and click. Too bad there is no correlation between how well FfH loads and how well I play it. I'm not very good.

Also, I think my graphics card is not up to standards. I still haven problems with units like Basium, Orc Spearmen, etc. showing up in parts and pieces.

Finally, is there a place I can read up on strategies how to best use the different civics. God King? What am I to do with that? The Kuriotates?

God King is an ideal civic for young civilizations, when you have very few cities, and thus the bonuses for your capital make a huge difference. A good early game strategy is going straight for Mysticism (which allows god king) and then try to find a religion, since they all need mysticism.

This works a treat, especially if you get the runes then use the civic that allows 1 free specialist - it works a treat.

As far as the speed of launch is concerned mine always launches after about 90 seconds normally - is it worth me upgrading, or waiting till the next full update?

p.s. my pc is a 3800+ with 4 gb of ram
