[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Given that a book is being planned already, I'd say it might be.

(The other major fantasy game- Elemental, also has a book planned)

Introducing the Orbis civs as Vanilla FFH civs would be a good mod though.

This is probably a stupid idea and perhaps it's already been done, but...

I LOVE the concept of FfH and all through my life I have been an aspiring writer. Would I be committing plagarism (i.e. could I get in trouble?) if I attempted to write a series of books based upon FfH and its various civilizations and heroes (if it's not already been done!)? Given my age I'd probably never finish it but, given all my spare time due to a health problem, it would give me something to do and a goal for myself.

I would attempt to incorporate all the scenarios that you have formed and I would also like to include new civs introduced by Further and Orbis. For me this is a massive undertaking, but my wife and I would love to work on a project such as this (as I've already mentioned, probably never done but still a LOT of fun!). My wife is great at maps and contributes many fine ideas. Me, by this time I'm getting to be an expert on the intricacies of the game -- even if I DO play at the chieftain level.

Anyway, a stupid idea but I did want to check to see if I'd get in trouble if anything ever did come out of it.

Thanks for listening and any feedback you might provide.

You are welcome to set your stories in Erebus. By only request's are:

1. Don't use the Fall from Heaven name. Your free to use the names of the rest, but calling it "Fall form Heaven" is how we separate our work from the excellent work of others who are creating things in Erebus.

2. Create your stories, don't retell ours. Im sure you wouldn't do this, but we would want stories put out that were just retellings or more detailed versions of the stories we have created. Make new stories.

Outside of that, have fun and if you do manage to finish something be sure to ping me so I can check it out.

"would" --> "wouldn't" Right?

Hey kael. Like the mod so far. Got Civ IV: The Complete Edition last saturday, so i decided to download Fall From Heaven 2 0.41. My only complaint is the Succubus unit. Now, I understand that this is supposed to be a dark fantasy mod, but i don't like the idea of the Succubus with visible breasts. Civ IV is supposed to be appropriate for kids at least ten year olds. I like the game, i just don't like having to tell my nieces and newphews that they can't play the mod with me. So could you fix this, like maybe have her hair go down covering them or maybe some sort of cloak, or armor, or some old-timey bra?

I very much doubt they would care / notice it :D

as you will soon discover, there's stuff way more morbid than boobs in this mod. let the kids watch disney channel if you want to make sure they don't get horribly traumatized and end up stabbing teddy bears.

Wait, breasts are traumatizing for children? Poor babies fed by mom's milk!

And what about people drowned to become better soldiers? Or vampires feeding upon poor citizens?

... :p

Cut the poor guy some slack. Maybe someone can be convinced to make a PG version of the Succubus and put in the same location where the "no blood splatter" option is available for download. 1st post of the Art Blog?

That's a good idea, I'm quite sure several people would download it, since it appears quite alot of people who play seem to have children of their own. Now just hope that the kids don't win the Radiant Guard by betraying Basium... :hide:

I told my 9-year sis bout the Ljo Splintered Court end.She also plays this mod on occasion as well.

Well, the Splintered Court endings aren't exactly on the same level of "darkness" as the betrayal ending to the Radiant Guard... It's the only ending that really made me feel bad for winning the way I did. I think it ranks as one of the worst way to die in the Worst Way to Die thread in the subforum.

I've been trying to fill up the trophy screen for FfH and have hit one that I can't seem to do. There is a 'Score Victory' and a 'Time Victory', which seem to me like more or less the same thing. I've got the Time Victory sorted, could anyone tell me how you get a Score Victory? Thanks in advance for any help.

Regarding the darkness of the mod that's being discussed: This doesn't feel like it's the kind of mod that's been made for children. People should bear in mind that just because something is fantasy and has elves and angels in doesn't mean it's going to suit young children. I'm 30 but there are still a few bits of writing in the scenarios that I've found slightly disturbing.

Yeah, the previously mentioned Radiant Guard's ending is... disturbing, to say the least. It's more like awfully sick.

Hey, guys, I have a question. I was thinking about making the luchiurp my main civ (even though the start is kinda slow) but then I looked through the civilopedia and found that they don't get any arcane units. This, in my opinion, is a major drawback. I'm just wondering what's out there to balance this.

They get them.

It's Khazad who are limited to adepts.

Oh I guess I just missed them...

SWEET! I just got a demonic hunter!

Why for the love of god are there so many barbarians???

ok i've calmed down a bit. I still don't get how everytime I play this, I get steamrolled
