[MOD] Fall from Heaven

Crash to Desktop in patched .95, map is ring/standard/normal/warlord and I am playing Undead with state religion Veil, only civic other than basic is agriculture. It is turn 183, and I am not finishing up a research or anything, but it crashes reliably as soon as I hit enter.
 
In my game I went into world builder and deleted about half the cities on the map - none of my own and it didn't crash after that. It would be hard to narrow down exactly what the problem is though. One thing all of us have in common is that it always happens after we hit enter to end our turns.
 
I turned logging on and noticed I'm getting a bunch of warning messages in the LSystem log. Nothing else really stands out.

Here is a sample of my LSystem log messages:

Im wondering if the crashes are coming from applying the patch in the middle of existing games. Has anyone had a Crash to Desktop in either of the following situations:

1. 0.95 unpatched?

2. 0.95 with the patch, but a new game started after the patch was applied?

-1 food +2 gold for farms just never seems worth it when I compare vs a cottage.

Option 1:
grassland plot +2 food
+farm = +4 food
+aristocracy = +3 food +2 gold

Option 2:
Cottage
grassland plot = +2 food
+cottage = +2 food +1 gold
+hamlet (10 turns) = +2 food +2 gold
+village (20 turns) = +2 food +3 gold +1 hammer
+town (40 turns) = +2 food +4 gold +1 hammer

After 10 turns it's only 1 food difference and after 30 turns you're trading 1 food for 1 gold & 1 hammer. The quick benefit isn't large enough for me to turn down better civics like god king.

I think it would be more appealing to me if it was -1 food +2 gold and +1 hammer or -1 food +3 gold.

Aristocracy is one of the most powerful civics in the game as is, if anything it would have its power reduced.

My crashes have all been in 0.95 unpatched. They are not reliable; that is, if I reload the save from just before the crash, I can often keep playing beyond the point where it crashed. But it will always crash again eventually.

Anyone else? To the people in this thread that have reported crashes, did you start a new game after patching or did you continue an existing game?

Hmm.....first game was started before the patch, but crashed also before the patch. I installed the patch, and it still crashed. Version I attached was a few turns after installing patch and going back to a previous save and playing for a few more turns, but it ended up crashing on the same turn as before, consistantly for me. I tried going back and changing what I did (though I didn't try switching religions like Kopaladin did), and it always crashed for me on the same turn. I wrote over the save from the unpatched version that was crashing, though I have some saves still that are from maybe a dozen turns before the crash. I can upload those later if you want when I get access to my computer again.

Second game I've played under .95 was started after the patch, and is fine so far, though I've been playing very cautious, going for a cultural victory, not getting involved in wars, and i've not gone as many turns yet. I can't play right now, my fiance is playing WoW again, but I'll let you know how it goes once I can peel her away. (certain games are crack- never let those you live with 'try' them, unless you want to be like me and be unable to play games on the computer you built to play games. -Lesson learned:hammer2: )

My wife loves WoW, 2 computers are the only way to save the relationship.

Ive updated the patch. The only real difference is it won't let you continue a save with it.
 
Maybe add a few more animals from my mod? And maybe some more promotions from my other mod?
 
I am having crashes on the current patch. I started on 0.95 then loaded the patch. It crashes consistantly on the same turn.

Im sure that loading the patch on an existing is a very bad thing. It sounds like we may have another issue as well, but I think the bulk of the crashes we have seen are from this.
 
Hi Kael.
I want to congratulate you for your work and ask to you 2 things:

1.what does exactly the upgrade "animal handling" ? I guess you can control the animals and although I have not proven it there is no information about the upgrade in the civilopedia

2.Having "Fellowship of Leaves" as a religion I built the wonder "Form of Titan" which have the appearance of the Rhodas Colosus, however it doesn't appear in the normal view as a build (maybe is because I made it in a city of the interior without sea, but in the civilopedia it appears with grass on the ground as if you could build in the interior).

3.Are there new civilizations? because they appear me the normal civilizations: Egyptian, Chinese, French and so on. Maybe it's my fault because I've not read all the post, there are 180 pages :sad:

Anyway a great work, waiting for your answer and excuse my English plz.

None of the above (I've started the game before patch, then applied it and was going on with the same game), but maybe it will be of some use:

The only serious, stubborn, persistent crash I've had disappeared when I deleted 3 AI civ units preparing to attack barbarian city - I've tried many things with my own units, research etc. and none worked. So crash was apparently caused by these units/that situation. Units are near barb city just ne of Tor Yvrese.
 
While playing an unpactched version of the game I got a crash with the attached game. The crash did not involve civic changes or 0 population cities. Im playing with the Ashen Viel religion and the turn and is 164. I had just discovered currency the turn before the crash. When I start researching soul debt and hit enter to end the turn I get a crash.

I hope this file helps you further make this mod better.

I started one game after pacth 1 without crash so far (250 turns). But now that pacth 2 is available, I´ll start a new game.

Don't bother, the only real difference between the 2 is that patch 2 makes you start a new game (you can't continue saves from before the patch like you could with patch 1).

It sounds like you are running an older version of the mod. The 1st post in this thread has a link to version 0.95 which contains new fantasy civs.

And you are correct about the "Animal Handling" promotion. If a unit with it defeats an animal you gain control of the animal. The promotion has been renamed to "Subdue Animal" in 0.95.

Form of the Titan can be build in non-water connected cities. but you need a level 7 (I think 7?) or higher unit to be able to build it.

My game that crashed was started after applying the patch for .95, I played through a .95 game before the patch with no crashing.
