@Kael

Thanks :goodjob: - right German is the language I`m playing - can I change that to English very simple or did I have to install the whole game again?

You will probably need to reinstall the mod and make sure when you do that the location is correct (in the mods directory under where civ4 is installed).

@brautstudio
In case you need germanspeaking support, drop me a short message via PM.
I got it working with my german version as well ;)

Yeah FfH already has double the normal barbarian activity, I couldn't imagine playing with raging barbarians.

I haven't noticed any resource problem lately, they seem to be pretty well distributed. What does everyone else think?

I haven't seen any problem of lacking resources (at least compared to vanilla), and I'm actually quite surprised others did, since I started many games and never noticed this supposed lack... however I wouldn't exactly talk of good distribution of resources. Sometimes they seem to concentrate more in certain areas... but I'm not sure if it depends on FFH...

I attached the spreadsheet I use to modify resources.

Warning! If you run the macro it will write a new CIV4BonusInfos.xml file in your customassets file structure and overwrite anything there, so don't run the macro if you have another CIV4BonusInfos.xml file that you want to keep.

Never noticed a complete lack of a given resource, but the clumping is definitely there. I think on some map types this is intentional (ie. new world style maps), but on some it's just strange. On an Archepelago map playing FFH, I had what I called "sugar island"... 6 sugar plantations on a roughly 4 x 4 island.

Yeah, I think that is going to be the model for Undead in Phase 2. that used to be my "Undead" unit back before I combined them with demons since I didnt have enough of either to justify 2 different groups. (And the giants and birds continue to brag about their 1 unit groups).

That sounds awsome. Any other things you got planned for undead? Lich's Wraiths, Zombies, Bone Dragons, ect? :)

Definitly, but thats all up in the air right now. We are still working it out.

I have been playing CIV since its inception. I am always humbled by genious (and envious) but your mod is amazing. Thank you for providing access to what was clearly an immense amount of work. Fantastic. As your moniker claims - very accurate.

Small guess... Program Files vs. Programme ? :crazyeye: (the default installation of the FFH exe goes to program files but the german civ installes itself to the subdirectory Programme)

If not, nevermind :p

I don't know if that's your mom, but I'm your daddy. :p

Loving the mod so far Kael, thanks for mentioning it on OO. I just wish those barbarians weren't so frequent early on, but at least they're dumb enough to attack unit by unit. :D

Welcome Kelric, always happy to see a fellow Overlord about.

Do you have patch E applied (its linked in the first post)?

If you do and you still see the crash attach a zip of your save game (from right before the crash and I would love to check it out.

Thanks!

Yeah the patch is applied. I will zip up a game when it happens again. I just started over. I tried disabling the inqisition.mp3 to see if that was it, but it wasn't. That's about as much as I was willing to mess with!

Cool, yeah definitly let me know. I would love to get this isolated and fixed. I'll run a few tests here and see if I can reproduce it on my own.

Is there some way to tone down the barbarian activity with this mod? It looks really neat, but every time I start I get insane wave after wave of barbarians which completely ruin the game for me, I can't even send workers out of the cities, much less terrain improvements. I don't mind having the barbarians be a threat, but I'm seeing them at ridiculous levels which prevent me from doing anything other than huddling in my cities until they take them over.

What difficulty level are you playing at? I have just moved up from Prince and have noticed a significant increase in barbar activity, so what i have done is rush Axemen, they can generaly deal with warriors easily and gets lots of exp doing it :) Also try building cities where they have natural defences, and where they defend each other.

The barbarians are buffed up a bit from vanilla civ (3 times I've seen them initiate a golden age!). This means that you have to plan your strategy a bit differently. You should build a warrior first, then a worker or settler. The build workers and spam cottages strat will just get you killed here. Always built a military unit first, and try to keep near the top of the power chart. Post your early military units in easily defensible locations at the edge of your lands, and watch them rack in the xp.

Even if you plan on playing a peacefull game, it will keep the barbs away at first, and later on it'll keep the other civs away. Few civs will wage war on you if you're stronger than them, no matter how much they hate you.

Yo, silent lurker and DLer here. Great mod, but I do have a recurring problem, i.e. game crashing. There's a dark elf and a frostling save file in there. The dark elf one should crash as soon as the turn ends; the frostling one has one or two turns to go. If there's no problem for you, then I guess it's my machine, maybe the video settings. Anyhoo, keep up the good work, can't wait for phase I. Although I will miss abusing animal cages without carnivals.
