[MOD] Fall from Heaven

That flaming UNIT seems a little bit over powered!

IDEA:

Remember the DUDE WITH THE SUPER AXE? Yes, when we talked about equipment. You should put, some WONDERES, call them.. ANCIENT WALKERS.. very powerful units, that roamns the earth, I would need like 10 pike man to kill it... And if that happend, I would get a special power. Like FLAMING FISTS or something. For 1 unit of course...

Im wondering are all those IDEAS that I´ve posted worth anything? I really need to focus my creativity. So if its not working fine with me, just let me know.
 
I've been playing 0.70 for 14 hours now and it's getting really good. The AI is using caravels, galleons, chariots... pretty well. I'm using Haarbal civs and that makes the mod truly enjoyable. Like some of you out there I think it would be nice if the normal civs could be taken out.
Back to the game!!!
 
I have an idea for the heros.
Instead of automatically gaining 1 XP each turn, they only gain it if they are in a city with a training yard (for non-magical units) or a library (for magical units).
Then they get an additional plus 1 XP if that city has the basic building of their type. ie: barrack, stable, archery range, tower.
Then they get an additional plus 1 XP if that city has any of the most advanced (tier four) buildings of their type. ie:archery taarget, castle, druid ring.

Meshabber is an Avatar. In other words he is WAY overpowered. It takes an Armageddon spell to create him. The other 2 avatars are the Mithril Golem and the Avatar of Wrath (who was in 0.70).

And keep coming with the ideas, Im always glad to hear them. I swear Loki alone added about a years worth of stuff for me to do for this mod. :)

I don't picture the heroes as people who need to spend time training. Instead they are characters with enourmous potential, and they will grow into that potential if they are holed up in a city, or out traveling the lands.

Also it would be near impossible to teach the computer how to use correctly. It wouldn't leave the units in the towns so the AI heroes wouldn't be nearly as effective as the player heroes.

Good idea. I went ahead and put the change log behind a spoiler tag. The code tag is hard for text because it doesn't wrap, so the entire paragraph goes in one long line.

Yeah i see the problem.

I was thinking about the problem of knowing which units has orthus' axe. Maybe the unit with the the "axe" would be slightly renamed to something like: Horseman with Orthus' Axe...

You can see promotions on units by placing your cursor over the stack. You will see a picture of an axe on the one with the Axe.
 
It occurs to me: in one of the very first screenshots you had black samurai with pentagrams on their shoulders as demons. I personally thought they looked suitably menacing, but they don't seem to be making an appearance in the game - why'd you give the idea up?

Because I can't make them burn like I can the current demons. If I could use that model with the flames it would be awesome, but I can only have one or the other.
 
OK Kael, thanks for your replies. A few more questions:

Some of the wonders did not have any information about them ... like Typhoid Mary's Birthplace ... I'm not sure exactly what it does... can you help me out here?

It should be there in the strategy tag. Typhoid Marys birthplace spawns Typhoid Mary. Typhoid Mary is a unique creature who carries the plague. She spreads it just like the Diseased Corpses spread disease, but the Plague is much worse. Unlike disease Typhoid Mary is the only creature that can spread the plague, those that are infected by it don't spread it.

Yeap, just like disease. If your unit can get to a Priest fast enough, it adds a negative heal rate that will kill units on its own in a few turns.
 
For the first time I played a game as the Fellowship and i noticed a way to abuse the forest planting ability.
I have a forest, and in the same turn tell my apprentice to start chopping it down, and my elven archer to start planting a new forest. The total time is only 24 turns, which seems too powerful.

Also, what does Gaurdian of Nature do?
The strategy text seems totally incomplete.
