Huh, and my suggestion seems to be ignored at all...

In all fairness it was 2 pages ago. :)

Honestly, the reason I haven't responded to any of the reward for killing heroes posts is that I just don't know. Origionally my thought was that killing one of your opponents heroes was enough of a reward, but I see where you guys are coming from and I liked several of the ideas. But Im not sure where to go with it.

Right now the heroes are all new and everyone is playing them. I will probably hold the ideas until next week and then see what everyoens opinions are of them and changes. Right now you tend to see the heroes alone instead of the heroes as part of the larger game.

As we get ready to close phase 1 my focus on 0.90 and 1.00 will be balance and cosmetic changes. In fact my normal routine is to add all the new features in the first week of a new rev, then send it to Woodelf to begin testing while I spend the 2nd week on cosmetic stuff. For 1.00 both weeks will probably be cosmetic.

Meaning that this week is my last week for new features in Phase 1. I will be going through all of the features that have been delayed for technical reasons to see if I can do them now that I am a little better with Python. If I can they will be added otherwise they are out of Phase 1.

So my plan is to give you guys this week to play, then put together a list of questions about the mod. Requesting specific feedback on different aspects to make all the final decisions on how this stuff will play out. Then after 0.90 releases we will do one more round to fine tune everything. I will make sure to add a question about what the reward should be for killing a hero.

Finally got to actually play this mod. :)

Is Genesis supposed to do anything else than the listed +1 health to all cities? The description said something about upgrading the terrain around the city, but as far as I could tell nothing happened when I built it. There were a couple of desert plots in the city radius that I thought might change, but they remained as deserted as always.

I haven't played 0.8 yet, a comment on 0.7 :
About the wonder that gives bless, I think it costs too much & being a world wonder is a bit big for something that gives bless up to one battle (that what priests should do).
I think one of the following will balance the cost/benefits:
1- It could stay the same but as national wonder & cost a bit less.
2- It can stay the same & give permenent bless (if can be done).
3- It could give bless to a unit that stayed in the city @least 1 turn, regardless were it was built.

this was my two cents.

edit:
Oh, another thing, Could you give your wonders great people bonus?

Yeah, it should upgrade all of your tiles. As you said you shouldn't have any desert tiles within your cultural borders after Genesis is built. If you have a save from right before it is built I would love to take a look at it. I will PM you my email address.

When I built Gensis in my desert city, not only did it upgrade every tile in the city (and did not destroy my improvements), but random forests grew on grassland tiles in different cities all over the map. Forests grew over mines, cottages and workshops. Is this intended?

I boosted the effect of Bless in 0.80 to give it +15% str and +15% vs demons because I agree it was weak before. I think you are right and I should lower the cost of the Altar as well. I don't want to make the bless permanent because that is was what makes bless "bless". I don't want to have a bunch of effects that all do the same thing but are called different names.

And yeap, I will look at all the great people creation stuff for 0.90, they have been laregly ignored up to this point.

Ummm.... sure...... :mischief:

Hi! I was playing my first game with 0.80 version and after upgraded my scout to ranger I gave him order to build a camp on Ivory but to work this tiles ranger need about 1 milliard of turns, it look too long for a single resource :-)
What happened? Probably you have to adjust some values, bye

Finally managed to get some playtime in and just tried 0.8. Must say that it looks great, haven't had a chance to try the heroes though.

One little detail that could use some attention is that the Tracking tech and the Bronze Working tech have the same quote.

The rest so far is :goodjob:

A while back Kael let us brainstorm tech names. Maybe it's time for us to brainstorm tech quotes that have a more FfH feel?

Most of the Tech quotes in the game are from Corlindale. He ahs done an amazing job on them, but their are still some missing. Im hoping to have them all updated by 1.00. But yes, like Loki said, Im always open to ideas for new ones.

Good catch, I will fix it in 0.90.

Anyone have a list of which quotes still need updating? I'll start writing them down when I come across them. Also, anyone specifically working on civlopedia entries?

Wilboman has been doing the Unit Pedia entries. We could defintily use some work on building and tech pedia entires. Some flavorful building pedia entries would be awesome.

We appreciate the mod, is there anything we can do to reimburse you for this work?[/B]

Just make sure you are actually paying for your copy of Civilization 4. The folks at Firaxis have created an amazing game that makes all this possible (and so much more, we are just at the tip of the iceberg). Make sure they get paid for their work so they can continue to make more awesome games like this.

i am downloading the new version of your fantastic mod and my eyes falls on the sentences quoted, i realy enjoy what you wrote, and i complitly agrre.
we never said enought that piracy kill creativity !

(excuse my poor english)
