[MOD] Fall from Heaven

YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, is it just me or do others feel that, during a game, you build the same building more than once in a single city? I'm sure I have already built my market or training camp, only to have to build it again about 400-500 turns later? Anyone else getting that or is it just me? :crazyeye:

I have noticed this as well. I don't know what caused it, and I couldn't prove it.

I had a quick question. My friends and I have recently found saboteurs and we can't attack them. Not even with themselves. What units can see and attack these guys?

Marksmen are about it. Saboteurs are supposed to reveal enemy Saboteurs, but I think it only works if they actually try to do something nearby.

I played a monarch game with this version and won a religeous victory with octopus overlords which is the slowest spreading religeon in terms of its calculated spread rate. So I think they all have a chance.

that's because you are a human player. If it's not a human player to spread other religions, very, VERY hardly something that is not Fellowship or Runes will dominate.

i have played this MOd since the first avail release
and i must confess this is e very very well done job

thanks a lot to the creaters

:goodjob:

To TheZerg and Starsun:

Thanks for the feedback. Its always good to hear, especially now while we are working through the long process of developing phase 2. I think you will be surprised at how much better even the relativly minor tweaks in 1.0 make the mod.

Thank you for making such an excellent mod. This is incredibly rich and captivating.

One question that if someone can help me will make my playing much more fun. I can start a game without any problems, but if I try to load a save game the next day, Civ4 crashes to desktop with a "graphics error". I am running a pretty good machine, and have had no graphics problems in vanilla Civ and have no graphics problems while playing: just loading a save game.

Anyone have any ideas?

I havent heard of this. Could you attach your save game and I will load it here and see if it the problem is in the save or something about your system.

Also could you provide a screenshot of the error?

My game seems to crash after it is has been going for a few hours, or it crashes first turn after loading a saved game. I haven't figured it out yet, have some idea that perhaps running it on lower settings with a smaller world may improve matters - still experimenting. I have limited time to play so its important for me to save and come back to the game frequently when I get spare time.

Forrister

Let em know if you can dupe this.

I am in my next game and exactly the same thing happens. I even produced a new galleon and the Ranger does not want to board it. Similarities to the old game are, Goblin race, Kilmorph religion and the Ranger was upgraded from a beginning scout (i do not have new rangers yet but i bet they cannot board either). I saved, cleared the cache and restarted the mod but that did not do anything.

(edit) Just converted to the leaves for the sheer kicks of it, did not do anything. i try if my patches are not at the latest version...

(2nd edit) Nope patch was the latest and reinstalling it and clearing/restarting did not do anything. If noone else does have this bug (and noone posted yet) it must be something with my local settings though.

  • Open Civilization 4
  • Open the mod
  • Load save game

I found this. I rewrite th terrain impassable functions for 1.0 (so that terrain impassable truely allowed travel across all terrains, inlcuding water tiles). Rangers, Druids and Beastmasters used the impassable flag but i blocked their ability to travel over coast and ocean. Little did I think that this would keep them from boarding ships (who are of course sitting on ocean and coast tiles).

So to fix this in 1.0 i took away rangers, druids and beastmasters ability to cross peak tiles. I figure it better to have them boardable on ships than crossing peaks. I see if I can find a better solution in 2.0.

Thanks for the heads up Furin!

Thanks for the quick response. I hope to have a chance to get on my computer tonight and then I'll post my save-games. I am at work now, reading the forum and wishing I could be playing the mod. This kinda thing is really a sickness!

I've been thinking about some ideas for new wonders. I haven't really compiled a list worth posting yet but I did "borrow" one idea that I think would work well.

Based on the Sudocks wonder in the old warhammer mod it would be a port wonder that would do all or some combination of the following:

1. +50% trade income (on top of the harbor).
2. +2 trade routes for the city.
3. An extra hammer and gold piece on any worked water tile for the city.
4. +15% production time on naval units.
5. +2 or 3 exp for naval units produced in the city.
6. A free drydock for the city.
7. Would produce merchant great people points.

I personnaly think the first three would make for a worthwhile wonder for a coastal city, especially one with the seafaring trait.

I'm playing on a map without mithril (I checked trade advisor), and I can still build Knights, but not spartis or marksmen.

Also, please check the great plains maps, and have it have some reagents and mithril--basic civ has them not appear there apparently (well, spices and silver, anyway.) but in FFH, they are strategic. I don't mind them being rare, but as is it cuts mages out of a GP game.

awsome mod:goodjob:

the only problem i found is that near the end of the game there are just too many techs that u can reaserch at once, and i found it hard to decide what improvement to build in my cities, since there were soo many, but anyway sweet mod

can't wait for phase 2:D

Thanks again for your assistance with this. As I said, I don't get this in vanilla Civ4 (but I no longer want to play that!). I have reduced my video settings to medium without effect.

The error message that is as follows:
Your system has run out of video memmory. Please try reducing
your video settings.
File:\main\civilization4.bak\SDKs\Gamebyro2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9VBManager.cpp,Line:1018

The save file follows...
Not sure that uploaded. I can't see a verification here. If not, I'll try again...
