Hi Development Team,

I have been playing v1.00f and have noticed two minor things you might want to change in Phase 2. When your government is reestablished after a period of anarchy, the message is in red. Can it be changed to green, symbolizing a positive event? Second, when a new tech is researched, some of the quotes in the dialog box use "Gods" vs. "gods". I think it would be more correct to use "gods" instead, especially from a real life monotheist standpoint. Of course I can't remember which tech(s) are involved. If you want me to find them I will and report back. Meanwhile, can I tinker with v1.00f and make those changes myself for my own purposes?

Of course you can change those things themself. You should find the respective texts in XML/Texts/

About changing it for FfH II there might possibly be no need to do so as we plan to create an entire new technology tree, so most of those quotes will be reworked or skipped. - Although the first beta will contain mostly the old tech tree.

Good point about that reestablishing of the governmets. It is actually good news as you pointed out.

im running cool edit pro for music merging and editing and i have music creator over my dads and i wont beable to get it till sunday... :cry: ... ive played over 16 instruments in the last 5 years and i played them well... i was personally thinking a mix of classical/orchatraic and techno as our base theme for the game... what do u think?

piano might be nice but im more for the organ or the harp...

I tested your mod for the first time at the beginning of the week. Very fun. But a difficult to understand for a new player.:goodjob:

So. My idea is simple. You have orcs, minotaures, elfs, dwarfs,... Why don't you add a UU for each race? It could be the first unit you have, instead of the warrior. Just to add a small racial look. This UU could the same as a simple warrior or you can add a special promotion.

What other specialist of this mod think about that ?

Last thing. Is there any pre-made maps or scenarii ?

That does sound nice. Sounds like you've got a bit more experience than me as well. I'm working on my idea as we speak, and though I like my chords and melody lines, I don't quite like the overly mechanical feel of my digital piano. I'll try to get a version online as soon as possible though, I just want to get a quiet part done and perfect the loop a bit. It is a bit new for me to write outside of the simple triads, but I find it's necessarry to get that FfH-feel.

The various races we have now are basically just placeholders for the actual Fall from Heaven civs that will be released in the beta of FFH2. For those races, a lot of race-specific units have been created, so we have Elven Mages, Orcish Spearmen, etc... Some of them are just graphically distinct, others have certain abilities that comes with their race.

Jepp there are two maps and one senario for FfH at the moment. They are linked in the first post of this thread.

You might want to look at our Succesion Game. There we play as the Vampire Aristocracy Calabim.

cool... should i make a FfHMUSIC@gmail.com for us to post our music files for eachother? i can do that right now if yah want... its not there so dont send anything to it for now.... i gtg be back in an hr...
 
How will the fear or terror promotion work? Will there be a fearless promotion available to some units to go with it? Will some units be immune?
 
in the begining and end make the bass piano a chelo... and make the treble piano a violin... will add the mystique ur looking for...
 
I would, darkonion, but I don't have a Cello at my disposal. The song does, as is, pretty much use every instrument in my crappy Kontakt Silver library, except for the horrendous Church Organ and some choirs which sound like garbage. I will try to balance the arrangement a bit, spice up the melodic repeats and add more calm parts, plus fix the loop. Seems most FfH tracks go with fades as is, but I don't like fades.

Feel free to tell me if you want the midi, I would love to see what you could make of it, but beware: I write in a rather confusing manner. The song is, for instance, in a tuned down F minor, but is written with only sharps instead of any defalut key.
 
that song you made was great, it reminded me of a great game i used to play in the n64 called Quest 64. This song also remind me of other tunes i heard, I shall call this "exploring the Danger of the World" or "Dangerous Advanture". Sound like a Dungeon music too.

Try making some Church music for the religions, here is one of them that i like.

I cannot get FFH to start....
My problem is the 'XML error' outlined in your FAQ, however, I renamed my 'CustomAssets' folder and it still did not work.
Any help is appreciated

It became a bit longer, which might or might not be good. I didn't manage to make it even remotely loopable, but if I make the start fade-in, it should work.

darkedone02: Thanks. The clip you referred to was indeed pretty cool - quite different from most of what I've written, though, and I haven't got a that good organ sound, but I'll definitely think about making some music for the religions. One of the problems is, one religion should have one musical style, so it'll be quite a project.

Kroug: Are you sure you downloaded the full, ~100mB version and not the latest patch? Think some people got XML errors because of that. I think there are two files in the first post - one large core and one small patch. This information might be outdated, though.
