In case someone hasn't noticed it yet, members of the development team are playing a public Succesion game as a sort of teaser to the release of Phase II:

Actually we're in last, but we have a plan if you read through our exploits. We got dealt a raw deal, especially with a psychopathic neighbor!

I just downloaded the Mod 2 days ago. I became a member today, just so I could tell you how great it is! Thank You for Making this, it is incredible!

Keep up the good work!:)

I am making a scenario for it, it should be out in a few weeks.

Welcome on CFC, Civ4Rules!

Yeah this mod is best thing that could happen to civ4, exept for FfH2. And after I saw latest pics from Phase 2 and Phase2 Succcesion game, I WANT TO PLAY IT!!! Well just 8 more days... Even if it is beta, it is still good.

I'm glad we could get some people sufficiently teased. :D

Another SG started, so we can have 2 teasers. :) This one is closer to the actual release of FfH2. Click here to check it out!

An idea I had for the vampire civilization was that could they become more powerful over time. Killing stuff to gain xp would be one way but how about if actual vampire units gained xp over time, maybe after a certain amount of years/turns. This would similiar to White Wolf's World of Darkness or other vampire fantasy stuff where new vampires are very weak and then become more powerful as they age.

That what you speak of is covered by the Hero Promotion (so it actually the Calabim Hero will combine bot ways to get XP). Both ways you ask? Yes the Vampire can not only gain XP by killing enemies but also by feeding on his own population and units (or one of both ... have not actually played a game that far without crashes ... )

It seemed alot of people wanted to see some sort of "space race victory," in 1.0.
Playing WarHammer on Civ 3 kind of gave me an idea of sorts; an artifact hunting kind of quest. The artifacts are 'produced' in a way - they divert resources from buildings in the search for the artifact.
There'd be a set number of artifacts to be produced for victory but they wouldn't, as such, be projects anymore.
The first idea is that they'd be wonders - only one of each artifact. They'd function in the game way as other wonders but, if you find (or, essentially, steal from your foes by taking an artifact-holding city) all of them, you win.
Alternatively, artifacts could be units of sorts. Once produced, a group of people can ferry it around from place to place, as per your needs. Whilst stationed somewhere, the artifact would create a temporary building which would promote culture and, potentially, add to Great People/production/defense/whatever as long as the unit is there. When the unit is away, those bonuses disappear again. The artifacts must all be stationed at cities (and, thus, making such buildings as they stand there) for victory to occur? There'd probably have to be a quite a few of these artifacts though to make it more variable/interesting/long and some would require different things (for instance, a Great Engineer would be required to craft one? A Prophet to dream of one?). If possible, for a sum of money, one could 'sell' an artifact in a city, potentially getting a good amount of gold but also perhaps causing irritance at its loss and a culture loss for selling out (said artifact could then be 'located' again by someone else - that is, rebuilt).

Just the deranged mutterings of a loopy CivFan here ^^;

Let me start out by congratulating you on creating the possibly best mod ever. I always knew this mod would draw me out of the shadows ;).

What actually compelled me to "de-lurk" is an idea I had: A unit that doesn't gain XP by killing enemies, but instead has a chance of receiving one of the promotions the defeated unit had. I suppose it could lead to some interesting scenarios (but it might need a lot of balancing...)

Kael... i just bought meself a music creator program as well as a music editor program... if u'd let me, i offer my sevices in hopes to add to this game the fantasy and magic of a well-time musical master-piece (ok... im still learning some things about the program but im getting there!)...

I can't play this version of Fall From Heaven because I keep getting XML errors when trying to load it. I have tried renameing CustomAssets to CustomAssets.old and it didn't work.

try reinstalling it...

Shoes off on my turf, mister!

Just kidding. What program are you running, and, do you have any schooling? I'm working on what I hope will be the FfH Theme, but I have trouble getting the right sound. Sibelius 3 with Kontakt Silver. Don't know if Digitized Piano will get me where I want.
