Perhaps the book resource could also be supplied by libraries, universities etc. One coming from each associated building. Possibilities for trade there, add happiness and a tiny research bonus? But im thinking if you are a civ that produces a lot of books and disperses them through trade, the receiving civs come to look more favourably upon your civilisation. So diplomacy bonus. Perhaps an increased chance of introducing your state religion into the cities of the civs you trade books with?

I can just see Mao sending his red books to all corners of the globe. :lol:
Or a theocracy using the book trade to assist its religious conversion of other civs.

Yes for books, in cities whith 20 on prince i got no unhapinnes. Since u got Colosseum, Theatre and Library u need to start a long term war to have unhappiness

I understand your point, and I agree that this conflict has spiraled enough out of control, and will not resolve itself anytime soon. I do have compassion for the innocents caught in the cross-fire, but after seeing the same sort of pictures in the hundreds, and thousands... I guess I developed an immunity to them.

Hmmm this is weird. Are you saying the game freezes and nothing happens? Or does it just take that long? If it takes that long it is because the game is indexing the XMl files in the Cache folder. Once this is done the next time the game will be started much much faster. However if you play between the sessions a different mod, the cache will be overridden and the TR Cache needs to be indexed again. :( I hope that helps. What is your system Spec?

I'm not quite sure how to access my system Specs I'm afraid... I'm kind of a computer dummy... If you could tell me how to on a PC, I'd appreciate it.

What happens is I click on the link that comes with the download that gets you straight to the mod (so you don't have to open up the program and load up the mod; very clever, thank you) and the "loading" screen immediately comes up, but it takes another 5 minutes for the second screen with the bar that says stuff like "loading XML", or "Loading XML (cached)" and things like that.

Other than that, it works fine.

Any suggestions?

I think we need to reanalyse the book idea. If we provide it with library later in game too many books are floating around. Let see...

Man, I was really hoping to hold off buying warlords until it was cheaper, but if you guys convert looks like I'll have no choice. It's amazing how this mod just keeps getting better and better within a short timeframe.

I think your links in your signature are very interesting. Especially the first one. The biggest problem of Islam is that majority if not 95% think that Koran is written by god through Mohammed’s hand. It needs only a little bit serious research of the Hadiths (Authentic Koran Commentary) to see that even though Koran was being written during the life time of Mohammed by his writers, it was not collected as a book. Rather it was written on palm leafs, stones and furs. After Mohammed died and even his 2 successors Abu Bakr and Omar died, it was the third Caliph Uthman who ordered to collect the remaining of Koran and make a book of it. Uthman decided what is real and what is not, what belongs in the official Koran and what doesn't. All other versions of Koran have been eliminated. e.g an Armenian source from those times mentions a part of Koran that doesn't exist in the today’s Koran anymore (which is the official Uthman Koran).

Even though this is a fact and proved by Islamic scholars’ world wide, the majority of Muslims does not know it or do not want to know about it. A similar story with Bible, when King Constantine manipulated the original Bible and gave Jesus wonder-abilities such as making wine to water to walking over water to make Christianity stronger and more mythical - so it could be better accepted by Romans. Other Bible versions were also destroyed by him. It was just pure luck that a piece of original bible - or also called the Dead Sea scrolls - could be found in 60 years ago in Turkey. However only parts of it has been translated so far. And what has been translated doesn't match with the Bible from the shop next corner. There is for example a Judas Gospel in the Dead Sea scrolls. :D

Before the Christian and Muslim fundamentalists start flaming to me I better shut up and let them believe. :D but back to Islam, since everything is taken as Gods words, the Medina Sures (the last 10 years of Mohammed’s visions) are taken as Gods word too. Not by everyone but obviously by those you show in your first link. The Medina Sures are contradicting those from Mecca (the first 13 years of Mohammed’s preaching). While the first 13 years were very nice and human without need for any force, the latter 10 years are more like the things you read in your link. From my point of view, Islam just needs a period of Entlightment like Christianity had in Europe. (Ok you guys on the other side of the pond never had it, since you are descendents of the Puritarians who fled to USA :D, and that the reason why in some states Evolution theory is being replaced by Neo-Creationists and your President is a new born Christian who sees himself in the Crusades ;) ) Once Islam goes through a period of humanism and set the level of a human being on highest level a new era can begin.

Your second link is not very convincing, some of the footage might be true, but the lack of blood can easily be explained that Israelis do not shoot with sharp ammunition but with plastic bullets that are meant to be used in such situations. In overall the footage is not very convincing since there were enough neutral investigations in these areas.

So I better go now and hide... ;)

Besides don't worry about Warlords, the XML files are just about 95% finished. There is still the Python stuff and SDK that needs to be converted as well. I still think 3 weeks from now is more realistic.

You are so right. As religion has been perversed and manipulated to control humankind throughout the ages, and yet right now we are suffering a throwback to the dark ages and the crusades. We have been indoctrinated enough like little lambs led to slaughter. No one wants to keep an open mind as they are more comfortable in staying with their ethnocentric beliefs, happily following the other lambs and being spoonfed. (Wonder why TV and sports is such a big thing here? Hmmmm....)

The second link is more moving than the first link. Did you watch the whole thing? What about the part when they are setting up to shoot into an empty building? This shows their motives and are just looking for some exposure to the European media. This footage was taken by Palastinian cameramen hired by French news stations so they can get war footage, which is displayed on news everywhere in Europe and US and automatically assumed to be real, when in fact it was all fake. Go back and listen to the narrator explain, I'm not saying the narrator is neutral, but no one really is anymore. Everyone has an agenda.
 
Very interesting links therapist. The shooting through the hole was my favourite pallywood scene. I had heard Palestinians were waging a propaganda war. The street demonstation in the first link shows some very intolerant people (assuming the photos haven't been edited).

1) Fishing Club founded by Jesus Crist :p, as i do not belive that god, whom ever he is, made human so he can be praised... its a sin witch name i cant name thou english is not my nation lang. Doubt that god made a sin. And what i wish is to be judged by life not prayers, or luck in witch religion family i was born. + Christianity was funded in ??ad, so every one who did not belive in Jezus Crist becouse was bern and died before his birth is condemed ?

2) Christian Church and Popacy, now Watykan or atleast in my country thats the name. It "crated" Satan and hell to threten pple and make tham obey lord, and pray to all his thing. More, priests, bishops, and pope have named them self as servants of lord choosen by him self. I hope u remember when king/cesar/emperror of germany grow tired of pope and declared him war. He send all his army, and at the gates of Rome, pope said that the god no longer wishes the german emperor to be a rules, and thus took his power. German army left emperor alone, and went back home...

3) Crussades. Crussades were meant to convert muslims. How they ended ? 1 was quite sucsessful, i mean Crusaders killed only muslims. 2 Crusade was devastating, pillaging, plundering, murdering and stealing money, slaves and wealth from, Jewls, Muslim, Cristians(both catholics and orthox) that lived in foreign religion state nations/cities. And 3rd crusade... ended at Constantinopole, the Orthox capital... So Crussades were made for money not religion. And i belive that muslims are making their own "Crusade" and it surelly is not their Holy-war.

4) modern age, Germany, Hitler. Used "pure race" and "true religion" to gain and maintain power. He hated Jewl, as most germans hated them.

5) Japan before WW1 or WW2(not sure witch one) used Shintoism as state-religion i order to adopt Fascism and therefore create mility, but at cost of economy. Japan created very strong army and attacked Chaina. Now Japan is ashamed of that fact.

And i do not belive in what philosophist that say "if u belive and die u gain all, if u do not belive and die u loose all" or scientist that are trying to find prooves of a religion, so we can get easy access to heaven...



And to dont be completly off topic:

1) can we(you TR team) remove Crossbowman from Japan as they didnt have one ? And its TR after all.
2) i think Mujahids are a bit too weak, like 1 strength is missing, for Islam is "resarched" later than crustianity witch has stronger Crusaders(but weaker than mace mans, or teautonic knights as i compared them)
3) as for Teutonic knights... well Teutonic order was actually a Cristian Crusades called by Polish king i 1360ad i belive and given a certain land. Yes many of them had Garman names, but also Netherlandish ones. So Teutonic knight should be a Unique Crusader for Germany :p or should at least requitre Judaism or Cristianity
4) Can You give Castle and Fort II ability to stop colectival damage(or what ever its name is, damaging multipple units). And give Catapults bombard Advanced Colectival damage, witch is same, but ignores that CAstles and forts II defance. As How a Knight can run in castle and damage ,multiple enemies... When most guard gate...

Hehehe, yeah, I've travelled around through Europe and US, and although I'd like to travel and socialise a bit through Asia, ME and Sth America to find out what the people are like, but at the risk of generalising, I find I still prefer either German or Australian women. Probably because I grew up in Australia, and I'm still punch-drunk after my rapid and debauched introduction to German culture. Hope ya had fun. :)

I think maybe its better to leave the religious beliefs of others for another topic and just focus on your terrific mod :)

Everyones opinion on their religious beliefs is very very personal, and by critisizing other peoples religious beliefs you are only going to upset people, not convince them of anything. I need to stress though that not everyone who aspires to be truly religious is a fundamentalist.

Anyways, a little while ago on this thread I suggested possibly replacing the axeman with the Phalanx, rather than the spearman. Another issue despite the melee bonus now given with the Phalanx is that they are still disadvantaged against the axeman. Now this may have been done yourself intentionally to balance the unit, but seeing as we're aiming for extra realism, I argued that the Phalanx represents Heavy infantry in ancient greek city states and not just a spearman, so having the Phalanx going up against other heavy infantry(ie axemen) would mean them performing poorly against units they were traditionally superior to. It was only with Roman Legionaries coming onto the scene that the well trained Phalanx(Hoplite) finally met its match, and bettered for that matter.

Making the Phalanx a replacement of the axeman would overcome this deficiency. Kopis warrior (in name at least) could replace the Hyapist if necessary. Comments?
