Hi all (Warkirky included),

No, of course. Warkirky don't like France and French....well, it's his problem. Problably some problems during his youth with a french girl, or a feeling of inferiority...

I never said I didn't like france. It wasn't me who made that racist comment. I only defended Britain against it's equally racist counterattack.

Or are you referring to my comment about France surrenduring. I was merely quoting history, the french government has surrendured to german invasion several times. It says nothing about my feelings for France.

By the way. I love France. It's a beautiful country with a rich history.:goodjob:

wow, i cant believe moderator leave theses word.... damn guys thats pure racism... i cant believe someone hate me only because i speak french.... you know there is tupid people who talk other languauge too.... but i dont hate them for this....

That is NOT racism...
Its like i CANT hate france/french. I have freedom of that. I kill some french kid - ill be judged for killing HUMAN not a french person.

So freedom is freedom, not tons of laws and right that forbids us to do anything, but freedom isnt also chaos, as in chaos nobody has any right, and the strongest determinetes the law and is "stealing" freedom from the weaker.

But i went of topic a bit.

Hi all (Warkirky included),

A real question: can somebody tell me if i'm right or not ? It seems that we can't sent "monks" (whatever their religion is) to convert others civs cities ?
Right or not right ?

The Frog

Send a cristian missionary to Mecca :P You will get an answear :P.

How ever it should be like this i say :
1) you must have open borders

2) each turn your "monk" as you called them, have a chance of being assasinated and lost. The chance depends on:
a) state religion, also non states - up to 10% of assassination chance
b) freedom of speach civic- lowers assassination chance by 5%
c) your war record whith foreign civ - +2% assassination chance for each 5 turns of war, and +3% if you declared war, +1 if he declared war
d) mutual protection pact - lowers by 5%
e) slavery civic it self brings barbarians they may kill your "monk"

3) chance of spreading lowered by city status:
a) -3% for each differant religion presance and non religion
b) -2% for each temple
c) -3% for each monastary
e) -5% for each cathedral
e) -20% for each shrine (1 city civ that founds all religions :P)

4) free religion might have some effect, but i dont know witch way.

5) also a "new" diplomatic option religion spread might increace chances of your "monk" survival, and his chance of spreading.

And Hian - it was me that started a "hate french/france" discoucion :P. And it seems that your the only one not over reacted by that. When sum1 is saying he hates my country or me, i just dont care. But when hes sayingn bad thing like it sux and so on - i ask why he thinks so. Mostly theres no reply, wonder why...

Anaztazioch,

Thanks for this answer. It's very interesting to understand what are the bonus/malus for assassin and monks.

About "hate france/french", what can i say i don't ever say ? It's your right to hate or love X or Y... For my own, i had worked with Italians, Germans, Americans, Britishes,.... They had their own opinions about what happened in the world, about religion, about politics, about political leaders in such a country,... As you can imagine, we don't agree most of the time. Americans don't understand the way of thinking of Europeans, they thought we are decadent and peace love countries. Europeans replied that USA is an aggressive country full a warmonger "cow-boys". And between Europeans, Britishes still looked at French as THE dominant and most dangerous country of Europe. Many, in France, still think that Great Britain and its prime minister is the "pet-dog" of USA.
So, tell me, who is right ? who is wrong ?
The only point i agree with you is when you say: try to send a "monk" to Mecca.... Even if i don't like saying that, as an old military who usually went in Middle East, i can tell you that the main problem of democraties (in Europe and North America) is Islam. Most of them (not all, some try to "modernize" their coutries) hate us and our freedom of religion, of speach, our equality between males and females,....

What more ? You can think what you want... As i already say, i chose my friends and foes for their feelings, their tought, their acts not for their skin color, religion,...

PS: in French Monks = missionary, sorry don't remember the right word in english when i wrote yesterday.

I cant figure out wath causes CTD in my game...

Purger.
From what Ive read the problem is caused from Dales combat mod- where an AI unit will be using a land based unit to bombard either a land tile square or a city with a naval ship inside it- from what I understand this causes a loop in the turn where the ai cannot continue or end its turn so you get the ctd.

Are you at a period in time where a civ has access to catapults or trebuchets?

I believe this is being worked on for correction.

Thanks for your help. In my game some civilizations had catapults.
Anyway I have started my second game and there is no CTD yet. If I will have CTD I'll infom you. I am in the period of game when in 10-20 turns some civs will have catapults so I ma very interested what will hapen...

is it just me or is the "slavery revolution" thing a little over the top? IMO the chance for a revolution NEEDS to be turned down. I didnt even have one slave worker yet, and every turn 2 of my cities are having revolts. If you look at history, actual slave revolts are EXTREMELY rare, but now I am fighting more slave-spawned barbarians than there are normal barbs. No wonder the AI's that are using it aren't getting anywhere. I am just turning it off, as I said, the amount of revolt is just silly.

I am in the era where most civs have some kind of siege weapon. But nobody in my game is at war with each other, so I'm not expecting anyone to attack a city with a boat in it. However, I just ran into a CTD in my saved game. I press enter to progress the game, and just after the screen says "Waiting for other Civilizations..." my game CTDs. I have logging enabled, but have no idea what to look for. I can't attach my save game to this post because it is 860k... too big.

@TR team: Who should I send my save game file too so that you can take a look?

Thanks!

Some exceptional units have been made by civmansam. Basic ancient and classical units for India. The indian swordsman impresses me the most. Hope the team thinks they are worthy. :goodjob: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=181810
Nice looking units. Maybe we will get to the point in Civ when we can have full ethnic representation across all of your units dependent upon the civ you choose right out of the box. Similar to Rise of Nations. :crazyeye: :crazyeye:

I thought the comments were meant as a poke in the ribs jibe amongst friends. But I can be wrong.:mischief: I mean come on Froggie how many times have you poked fun at me because I am an American. :mischief: :mischief: You are definitely right in judging people as individuals and not as groups. Now about them French women......;) ;) ;)

In my new game I am in the midieval age and many nations have siege weapons.I had one CTD but I was able to continue my game by loading an autosave.

I have one question about catapults (and other siege weapons).
I was able to bombard the city defence and units inside (colateral damage) but I was unable to bombard units outside the city in my teritory. Is this a bug??? I didnt try bombard units outside the city in enemy teritory.

I think that siege/artillery weapons must have ability to bombard units and not just cities.

French woman - 86 year old woman born in france is still french woman so... well its ur choise ;)

And i hate france - i was in France for a less than a week. Most pple i met there was arrogant, fanatic(i have right and no1 else). Fcource i met a few nice ones, but the sound of your language is like sliding fork on a plate.

Back to TR:
Its about AI. Rome is 1 city civ till writing and opened borders to buildup on ice far north from Persia... Spain is close, but Spanish usually build Barcelona.
I hate this as Rome not only is not improved(by wokers), but it has 1 city. And when i have 500 points, Rome is 70...

Can you update this so that Ai will start building cities close to another?

and some idea. Can Archers attack galleys?
Like an archer attack galley that floats in its neighbour title, so archer might win and destroy it, but not move to the target title, or atleast leave that galley whith 0.1 strength ? and tham mext unit (not only archer) can capture that ship (exept other ships for they will sink that 01 one)

Big mess but i have faith in Houman to understand it :P

I havent had a chance to play long enough to be sure because of the ctd's- but I think they changed the ability of seige weapons to actually fight like normal melee' instead they allow them to bombard units and bombard land tiles./along with their ability to knock down a cities defense.

archers shouldn't be able to attack galley, not because of a feature implication but because realistically each square represents a huge portion of land and there is no way an archer with the range of a few feet should even be able to come close to hitting a galley...

But I was able to bombard just city tile not any land tile or unit...
Of course as I was said I have tried bombard enemy units on my teritory. Is this true that we cant bombard on our territory but only on enemy territory then this is defenitly a bug.
