[mod] TOTAL REALISM 2.0

Are 2.02 saves compatible with TR 2.1? In other words, do we have to start a new game? I think you should add this info (whatever the answer) to the front page too. :)

Great job! :goodjob:
thank for note, i will ask houman to update first page
and now answer: due to huge change in game engine, old saved games are not compatible (this is reason, why it is new release, not only patch)

EDIT: wow, 15 minutes after my post, and 10 successfull downloads logged in SF :)
now i can go to bed (2AM here) , i will sleep all next day :)

1.32 here watching family guy now about to play this allnight!

2.1 set up right?? shd i uninstall other versions first?

can i change german flag as i play as them, like custom flag

DL GOING SLOW!

Three chears for the TR team!
Excellent work guys, i am so happy with the new units added, especially for egypt. That egyptian longbowmen means business. And the Tercios are superb. Gradually checking out the new features. :goodjob:

But, i dont like the weakening of the conquistadors. With the loss of immunity to first strikes and less of a bonus to melee they seem weaker than knights. What really doesnt make sense is their increase in cost. Why? If they are worse troops and not as skilled or well trained why should they be more experienced? Hope you can understand my frustration, its just that the conquistadors fought and triumphed over a great many aztec archers (with their first strikes) and aztec melee units. I worry now that they have been lowered because people complained, yet knight remains the same. I would like them to be the same as knights, or a little better since they are a UU, not worse.

Sorry to make a complaint so early on, but it seems very wrong to me. Cheers guys.

Aurgh, version 2.1 is insane. Oh the barbarians! I counted once in my capitals radius i had 10 barbarians. Im keeping 6 warriors in my city, just got archery. Like the look of the barbarian huntsman

Just downloaded from work to my USB drive. Will try it at home tonight.... :)

Houman, just so you know and only to inform and not insult or to be an ingrate towards you and your teams amazing effort, strike that product (it sure feels that way)... I believe I encountered a problem. When I play as Egypt, I mean the very first turn I'm in contact with Mansa Musa, without even knowing where his Civ is located, this can't be right...
Anyway great mod, hopefully when the WL version is TR'd I can finally see what the game beyond the Classical age is like....

hey there I just played the newest vesion (2.1) of your mod and I just have to tell you that barbarians are a bit too much, they spawn like crazy and build high tech units
I was playing with moctezuma on warlord difficulty on the realism map, after a few years of an occassional barbarian raid with those huntsmen (they look awesome btw) they started building hyspapists all over the place and easily overwhelmed my cities and caused great havoc on my developed lands, I just couldn't stop them! I mean I sent my warriors (yeah they're wimps) and my native archers, had a really tough time killing 1 or 2 and then near the border there were already 6 more!!
maybe I just suck at strategy (I think I don't, but anyway), but the mod seems pretty hard barbarian-wise, I believe they gain technologies way too fast

keep up the great work :goodjob:

never release a release before bedtime... :D

Well two little misconfiguration btw:
1) That is true Egyptions have contact with mali from game start.
2) If you play the WorldMap the Barbarians are not outrageous, BUT the AI is less happy-hippo-friends than in 2.0.2.
I have forgetton to make those changes in the general options, so if you are not playing the worldmap, then the Barbarians remain outrageous and AI is more peaceful. Only tip: Do not fight wars with them and go into defensive AND do not play on any difficulty level less than Noble, because AI is weaker vs Barbarians and gets wiped out in easier difficulty levels.

Will be fixed in next version minor patch. (Yes there will be a last one)

I had to go to bed before you released it last night. And now I'm at college. I've got another 2 hrs of classes left before I can go home and play.

One question. Is hotseat multiplayer enabled?

Warkirby

@Warkirby

We were aware of that and if we had released it before you went to bed, you weren't now in college. :D

Regarding Multiplayer, I haven't checked it. I suppose Mexico enabled it. :)

P.S. Warkirby, your correction will be considered in the next minipatch for Vanilla (no major thing anymore) and in the upcoming Warlords conversion.

Which one? I have made hundreds of suggestions and ideas regarding TR:confused:

Also do you have a rough release date for warlords conversion. Just so I know when to order it. Sales of warlord will probably shoot up when you release that patch:lol:

WarKirby

PS: Did you get time to check ou that link I sent you? What did you think?

@Warkirby,

yeah I liked that link and would take it. thanks. :)

The correction I meant was the Civilopedia correctrion you had sent me before I went to Italy.

Rough date for Warlords, at least 3 weeks from now. It would have been 2 weeks, if I was not going to a Wedding this weekend in France. :D

Houman

Houman,

Yeap it's wonderfull. A very good job.
But for information, when will you release the warlords compatible one ?

Furthemore, about warlords list, do you need more ? if yes, which countries ?

The Frog.

hey Frog,

yeah as i said in 3 weeks from now (just one post above yours lol).

I would need Japanese, Chinese and Mongolian. have we covered the Russians? Could you also make a list of Aztec and Incan Kings as heros?

Thanks
Houman

Like an idiot I bought Warlords when it first came out and I have yet to install it because I am still enjoying TR and TAM; with neither being Warlords compatible right now. So I ask myself why did I buy it so soon? Yet another victim of buying before you actually need it.:crazyeye:

It would have been nice if Firaxis could give us modders a bit more support. Imagine we don't finish the Warlord conversion and just focus on vanilla modding. Who would buy the Warlord expansion at all? :D

When I used to help out on the TAM mod for Civ3; the only reason why I with my minor contributions and others stayed so involved was that the vanilla game was sooooo bland and uninteresting. The only two types of Civ3 games I would play were TAM and Teturkhan's scenario. This was because there was such attention to detail put into these two products that it made for a rewarding experience. That is why I usually am underwhelmed by what Firaxis puts out with each Civ franchise, because I know it will be at least two months post release before I can play a stable mod that will retain my interest. Another game that keeps my interest longterm is Rome Total War because of the vigorous modding community. Thanks for the good work. :goodjob:
