[mod] TOTAL REALISM 2.0

Well, I've been playing the new 2.2 version for quite a few turns now... I think I'm almost in the classical age. I am on Prince difficulty playing Persia. The only thing I've noticed so far is that you have some oddities in the Unit Promotion list. You have like 6 or 7 "ignore" promotions (ignore is in the name, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about) and 2 promotions that give +10% in both city attack and defence (and maybe more for the second tier). The problem is that these 2 promotions, which my warriors have the opportunity of taking, don't have a real name. They are just a string of long words. It's not game breaking, but just immersion breaking. I have seen no other problems!

Hi Houman, Mexico 'n the whole TR2 team, I have a question that probably has already been answered before but I didn't find where: did you implement all the 4 feature of Dale's Combat Mod? In the description of the improvement of the recent 2.1 release, besides "missile mod", "MAD nuke mod" and "ranged bombardment", I can't see the "Combined Arms Stack Attack" component. Do I miss something or you preferred not to use that feature (which IMHO is the most important one)?

Hi there,

first of all let me say thank you to the modding team for all the work they put into 2.1. Like everyone else I was eager to put some time into TR as well, however, when I installed 2.1 it didn't work. The game started alright, but I don't have any names of leaders in the start screen, when the game starts there are no unit names, no technology names, nothing. I never experienced this with 2.02, even though I installed Warlords. What went wrong?
 
Thumbs up Guys! If it wasn't for TR mod- I wouldnt even be playing civ 4!
played last night for 4 hours and every thing looks good so far- made the mistake of expanding too fast with no religion and couldnt keep my empire afloat- lol.
I played on random map- large/agg AI/no tech trading/realistic time for turns and had no problems.
 
Hi all,

HELP !!!!

I doesn't work !!! I got problems. I re-install Civ4 and patch 1.61. Then TR 2.1 (58.4 MB if i have the good one, right ?). Then, big problems.... Error message if i try to load the mod from civ4, if i take the path from my desk TR had video problems (can't read the text,...)
So, what... Is there something that i miss ? or made wrong ?

I WANT TO PLAY !!!!

i am sorry, but this is impossible - Dale never release his source code for combined stack, so we can't implement this - and we can't use his pre-compiled DLL, because of our own modifications to SDK part

uh, never meet with this bug - sometimes this happend, when you have another mods in CustomAssets folder, which are incompatible with TR

I install TR 2.1 then i delete the files or i delete and then install TR 2.1. I install after or before restarting computer...

Not every body is english, so some "technical" sentences are sometimes not easy to understand....

So HOW I DO ?

And my problem is the same as bluepescadero....in fact. Warlords creating problem ???

maybe stupid question: how you start a game? starting vanilla civ and load a mod or starting via created icons?
which mods/updates you have installed in CustomAssets folder?

(i can't reproduce this bug, so i can only guess...)
 
just started a game on a custom map and everything seems to be running fine.

because of the barbarian glitch, i just turned them off so I could get through a game and see all the new features, but I was wondering if there is any quickfix to implement the new barbarian updates to custom games instead of just the earth map?

or is this something that will have to wait for the next patch to be resolved?


when you said the barbarian fixes work in the earth map, it made me think that there might be a setting or something not too complicated that would activate that code for random maps as well?

otherwise, very cool, I can't wait to get into a modern-era war so I can play with all the new toys! (isn't that the real reason all the real-life generals push us into wars too? :crazyeye: )


thanks for all the hard work, this mod is this best thing Civ IV has going!

Give us few days to collect all these little thingies and bring out a real quick patch. We won;t implement anything new for vanilla patch anymore but only patching existing stuff. We have to focus on Warlords...

I can post the fix tonight, then you can try it for yourself.

I have Warlords installed, so its not a problem with Warlords...
 
The game crushes somewhere near the divine right/nationalism, simply goes down to desktop...
Russian leader is called Greek.
Russia cannot build mi-24 and ka-50(dont now exactly, but this units are not marked in the tech tree while playing for Russia, only Gunship is marked)
 
excellent work guys!!! you know your sh%t! just bought a memory upgrade 1500mb to play the game properly!!!

hy mexico and the team,

are you sure of this - the stack sdk's becuse in dales combat mod,
its possible to "turn on" what ever mod you like -if you want only the stack you can just set it to true in the cvdefines.h,

or perhaps you know this and i didnt understood what you ment in the answer.


one more thing,

why is that , that the total realism team, wont release the sdk changes you made??

you did some immpressive work with the ai aggressiveness,

perhaps you may give me any tips what and which to change? - for the better of the community :)

I start the game with the TR button.
 
Ive been playing it for a good few turns now, HOWEVER THE TOMAHAWK MISSILES DONT WORK !! you cant load them on to submarines and you cant move them at all, the only thing you can do is attack within range from the city you made it from. Also that same bug from the previous version is still there where other countries got highly advanced units not correct to their technology, they always come with wierd exotic names. HOUMAN PLEASE COME OUT WITH A MINI PATCH TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS.

More problems to add to the list, I'm afraid.:sad:

1. Multiplayer is enabled in the menu, but when I try to play a hotseat game, there is no hud.:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: This makes the game all but impossible to play. Can you fix it?

2. Upon building the Adur Burzhen Mihr (zoroastrian shrine) a bright pink solid block is displayed instead of the picture.

3. You fixed this before and now seem to have broken it again. When I get a great person, the quote and pic is always for Blaise Pascal, regardless of who I get.:confused:

4. Almost every sound effect in the game plays twice. Minor, but still annoying.

5. The music frequently skips and distorts when loading is happening. That never happened before.


I'm only in the classical era so far. More bug reports if more bugs appear.

On the plus side, it is a lot faster.:D
 
Still unable to have a good install.... it begins to be very very boring to don't understand how to install this fu--- mod. Many texts are missing when i load, as pescadero explain. So what to do ?

what do you mean how?

I just ran the installer and it picked the right directory and everything automatically. All I had to do was wait a few mins for installation.

Did it not work like that for you?
