[mod] TOTAL REALISM 2.0

As for religions check out the many religions found in TAM...disagree with your opinion on Egyptian Pantheon. The Phoenecian and Babylonian Pantheons have a lot of deriative elements from the Egyptian Pantheon. And even if it were just limited to Kush (Nubia), Khemet (Egypt) and their vassal states in the near east. Also its not as if Egypt were some backwater; it is one of the cradles of civilization. Again check the TAM site to get some ideas for increased religions.

Ankenaton,

Be cool, friend of old Egypt :) . I don't want to be aggressive... I know about TAM, i had tested it. One of the best mod. Some good ideas such as the use of differents kind of metal as promo bonus or the Timber ressource for boat building. Even if you are nearly right about these old religions, it would be easier to add a more standard old pantheistic religion. I let you imagine if a guy that loved Celts ask for the celt religion, and an other for Scandinavian one, and an other for the American Natives one,.... It would be impossible. For my own, i would loved to add old religion, to saw them dying to be replace by new ones and so on....

The Frog.

I think it would be cool if each civ had its own pagan religion that is automatically founded when you create your first city; it wouldnt spread as fast as 'full' religions and would would only spread extremley slowly outside your territory and would not have any means of providing money (and wouldn't affect diplomacy i dont think). You could also play with the religious civics to affect how the religions affect each other (paganism is wiped out by theology and organised religion; it could possibly re-emerge with free religion).

e.g.
Germans: germannic pantheon? (Wotan, Donar, etc)
Carthaginians: '' '' Pantheon (ba'al, tanit)
And so on and so forth...

Hi Psycadelic_Magi,

It's a good sum-up of what i want. Pagan or old poletheistic religion which gives only a small bonus of happiness and culture, no diplomatic malus, no money and that diseapper when "true" religions are built.

The Frog

And i dont like the idea of having a single 'pantheism' religion... since obviously it would be founded by one civ and spread from there... Not realistic... Unless... Pantheism does not have a holy city and each civ starts with it present in their cities; for flavour purposes, each civ gets its own 'unique temple' buildable when it is present, so for the greeks, a temple to Zeus, Vikings: Odin, Carthage: ba'al...
I think this would still work from a flavour and not-ignoring-the-fact-that-religion-has-always-existed point of view and is a bit more easily implementable...

Thoughts, anyone?

Edit: It would be even cooler if when choosing to build the temple, it was just called 'pagan temple' or something but upon completion it is renamed to a temple of a randomly selected god from that civs culture- for a bit more variety.

I just sent in two sav files. One from approximately move 350 then an autosav at move 356. The game crashed one or two move later. I de-installed and reinstalled everything (6.1, 2.1.0 & 2.1.1 patch) and still had the same problems when loading the file.

I assume CTD means some sort of crash?:(

Going through the lengthy email trail it looks as if some others are having the same type of problem.

How bug free is TAM?
Both time playing as Arabia has crashed around the 128 turn mark

Is there a one proven empire I can play that never crashes ever?
Does the mod work multiplayer direct IP?

@ Hian

Must disagree. Pogan religion fought the mesves as "organized ones". Like Abncitent upper and lower egypt fought them selves to determine witch gods are true ones (like fighting in hotest day, under sun adn win means the god of Sun relly exists and grants its powers).

But to be true, some egyptians(priests actually) knew astronomy well. The priests, gathered man in middle of the night, and told them to pray to his god if they want to see the sun again. After the some prayers the priest says, that his god has listen to their prayes and granted them whith a new day (and this was the moment the sun started shining on the horizon).
So calling egyptian gods and religion "true" is false. Religion is thinking what unknow is like, not knowing it.

@ Psycadelic_Magi

Yes, a good idea, but Frog posted it firsts. Yet to spread your pogan religions to foreign civs ? Like they dont have their own pogan religion at build of city... + I cant recall any other civs exept Rome and Greece that shared same religion (ofcourse they changed names of some gods and their minions, maybe some rituals as well, but we cant be sure of it regarless what books tell). And Rome had same "religion", becouse Greeks had their big colony, "small greece", and its influances spread into tribes that founded Rome. So Rome actally was founded whith Greeks religion.

Well this all is just a simple version of what really is known.

Yet if were in religions its really stupid that we dont have a civ that founded Judaism !!!
We got India whith hinduism, Arabia whith Islam, Rome whith Cristianity (yes Jezus Christ was born in Betleyem, but faith was funded in Jeruzalem, but Holy City was moved to Rome), Persia whith Zoroastrialism, Chaina whith Buddizm and Taoism, and who is whith udaism? Barbarian city of Assyria ? lol

but coding and implating this "religions" suggestions in TR will take longer than posting suggestions here.

Stay safe and nuke some French for me - just decleared early war against my Spain, and i lost it on emperor x_x 2700bc .l (love this one eyed face :))

After a few hours of testing, I've narrowed down the cause of the CTD in my game to a particular stack of units in a rival city. If I delete the units, the game plays on normaly, but if they are around at the end of the turn, CTD.

That's as much as I could narrow it down with world builder, so I e-mailed the save to the bug reporting e-mail.

Best of luck nailing this pest.

(I'd attach the save game here as well, but it's too large)

When I reinstalled the game I opted for the white flag option. Of course now all my flags are white (LOL). I didn't even notice until my first encounter with another civ. Just curious, why would anyone want this option?

I am having regular problem loading this mod. I clear the logs, the cache and the customassets folder, start vanilla civ then load the mod. 50% of the time, the mod won't load and civ ctd. However, once the mod loads, I can usually play bug free.

Until this last game; I have a game that always CTD at the end of the turn. Can somebody try my saved game and see if the same happens to them? Feedback is appreciated.

Playing the 2.1.1 version.

Any other thread I should submit this?

Maybe this is it. I was thinking that crash hapens when AI attack with stack of units when in the stack is some kind of siege unit. Siege unit cant attack normaly like other land units and maybe then hapens continuos loop and CTD.

I wish you a best luck to find CTD bug very soon:goodjob:

Maybe you should release version with repaired ranged attack (bombard undefended land tile, bombard land tile in yours teritorry...) and then we all start a new game and try to play game without CTD. Maybe these saved games have unpassable CTD no mather what you change in the XML or python.

In my game CTD probably ain't caused by Spanish because they are destroyed :) . CTD occurs in 708ad and I always get it. And I get another CTD almost every time when I try loading game through TR shorcut. Loading through vanilla works better. Any idea what causes these?

- English Redcoat is now type of Musketman. Combat 11, 25% Mounted, 90 cost + (bonuses as Musketman)
sorry but redcoats are rifle men for a couple of reasons, true english musketmen are the "new modle army" from the english civil war, they was using redcoats during the 1800s not 1400s.they was using redcoats to create an empire(1700/1800)

From the modern perspective the retention of a highly conspicuous colour such as red for active service appears inexplicable, regardless of how striking it may have looked on the parade ground. It should be noted however that in the days of the musket (a weapon of limited range and accuracy) and black powder, battle field visibility was quickly obscured. Bright colours enhanced morale and provided a means of distinguishing friend from foe without significantly adding risk. High visibility did not become a matter of primary concern until the general adoption of rifles in the 1850s followed by smokeless powder after 1880. The value of drab clothing was quickly recognised by the British Army, who introduced khaki drill for Indian and colonial warfare from the mid-nineteenth century on. As part of a series of reforms following the Boer War (which had been fought in this inconspicuous clothing of Indian origin) a darker khaki serge was adopted in 1902 for service dress in Britain itself. -wikipedia.com

before the 1850's(the "rifle" was created near 1850's) they used muskets, I like the idea of redcoats graphics being for rifleman and musketmen though.

Have I missed something? What is TAM ?

So many were talking about it before, I have no idea what it means.

Warlords has unique buildings, so maybe in the warlord patch it would be possible to have unique pantheistic temples for each civ.
