EDIT: i tested your saved game about 5 times on 2 different computer and no CTD - maybe you have something installed under CustomAssets directory, which is incompatible with this mod ?

can be more specific about CTD? when it appear? at load mod (Init XML) or in game?
do you send your saved game? if yes, please be patient, in last weeks i don't have too much time.

My CustomAssets is clear, I tried to delet many times I guess :cry:

PS.: I had the installed Warlords, but he was removed, can have some problem in relation to this?

no, there is no reletion to warlords instalation...and because i can't re-create bug from your saved game, i am unable to help you. i am sorry for this
try start game with same conditions (from initial saved game) if this occured again
and maybe also with different civilization
if you again get CTD, send this games - only if i will be successfull to re-create CTD on my comp, i will be able to try to find a problem

Great generals are also working in my first gameplay: i received Hasdrubal Barca as a Carthaginian general (after bloody fights against barbs) :goodjob: . Great idea to add the barb for Great Generals creation.:goodjob:
BUT one problem had to be QUICKLY resolved: attack promo is too strong. Barbs had destroyed Egyptian, Persian, Ottoman, Russian, American and Aztec civs in less than 100 turns !!!! :eek: :eek: :eek:
I know that you are working hard to improve this mod but a small patch would be very very welcome. It's impossible to test some civs (all those too close to barb cities) on TR world map.

I sent saved game. CTD appears in the game. Probably it has something in common with bombardment. It appeared when started a war using large numbers of artillery, aircraft, ground troops and fleet against the same big numbers of opponent.
Can You imagine that I never finished TR mod? :cry:
Always CTD. After latest patch, I hoped that would be different, but not a chance :(
I want to see moder era! Bombers, Nukes etc. :mad:
 
I've been getting ctd from time to time. Not sure why. When I load the last auto-save before the ctd the game runs ok - until the next ctd. Anyways, when's the next patch coming-or is warlords the next one? Once again (I know, I'm a pain...) add Brazil!!!:goodjob:

This will do a bit help in replying and testing. Say in what TR you have crashes/toubles. Vanilla Civ IV or Warlords.
 
Amazingly enough, I'm still getting CTD errors. Most are the type that just take a restart and then you can play through them, but now I've got a persistent one pretty late into a very interesting game and it's a pisser to have to abandon a civ that I've invested 15 hours or more into.

A couple of questions:

-- Are there going to be any further attempts to analyze and subsequently patch these types of errors in Vanilla TR, or are all resources being devoted to the Warlords TR release at this point?

--I've seen a couple of people mention using the worldbuilder to fix CTD errors and I was wondering if there is any hope of doing that with my crash. Is it the kind of thing where you have to pretty much know what the error is, or can it become more apparent once in the worldbuilder interface? I've only even opened the worldbuilder once, and I haven't tried to make any changes with it yet.

Thanks for any help. I'm really looking forward to the next generation of this mod. Keep up the good work.
 
Unfortunatelly all resources are put into the coming Warlords TR. but we haven't abondoned this project. I think another patch before christmas with new improved Dale code can be expected.
 
OK. Well, I guess I'll have to wait for Warlords TR. I hope there won't be any CTD errors in that. Minor errors are to be expected, whether it be a game out of the box or from a mod, but CTD can really make an otherwise beautiful mod virtually unplayable. Especially considering that it takes about 10 minutes to load a saved game, even if it's the kind of CTD that resolves itself upon reboot it's disproportionately annoying.

Honestly, I have difficulty understanding how everyone isn't as pissed off about this as I am. ;) I just can't take something like this in stride, considering the limited time I have available to play at all, CTD errors are too much of a waste of that time.

But like you said, the Warlords platform is more stable to begin with, so hopefully that will be the key to this not showing up anymore in the future. :please:

You are right. i can understand this. Therefore we have not implemented the Dale's code into the Warlords TR for now. Once we have nailed all the bugs 100% then we would consider it. And yes you are right about the warlord engine that is much more stable than the vanilla and we take care to put in only features that do not cause any CTD.

In order to reach this goal we have chosen a new way of developing. As might see from this thread, it seems quite quiet here around. But in reality we have released already two Beta version of Warlords TR and are working in a more or less closed beta test with our dedicated players to solve the bugs. After Beta 3 and last bug fixings we would go gold and release it for everyone. This time becaus eof the extended testing no CTD or no other bug will be in the final Warlords TR release. ;)

I'm think the same. I stoped to play civilization and TR as well. TR is to good to play vanilla but not good enough to not be pissed off.
It has no sense to play and cannot finish because of any different ctd all the time.

Be patient and wait for Warlord TR then, it comes without Dales Ranged Bombardment therefore no CTD.

Great.

Funny that the ranged bombard mod would be the culprit. So, is it because some other civ was bombarding during the turn that the CTD would occur?

Since I'm no expert on all the components that went into TR, what did Dale's ranged bombard mod do? What will be different in the Warlords TR in relation to bombardment?

Dont worry. Just before Warlords Total Realism Gold will be released, Fraxis come up whith a patch, and TR team will have to do convertation :D

But to make your morale grow, ill tell you that CTD bug in WTR beta 2 is "gone", and so far i havent encountered another (exept out of virtual memery witch is set to 5 gigs... gone wild on World builder on 160x100 map... 32x20 is huge...)

I think ranged bombardment is important (not in the whole life I mean: only in CivIV). But I can understand that if it causes problems you have to solve them (even if playng with DCM I have non CTDs). Btw do you intend to implement something similar made by yourself or the bombardment is gone forever? :cry:

:D That is great news,that was the only thing I was having problems with.Every-time I clicked on Cyrus in the trade center,the game CDT.My question is Anaztazioch is beta 3 out yet,or a patch to fix the problem out?I know Mexico has been sick(hope he is feeling better :) )And Houman has been busy with his new job.I thought I would ask you if you knew.

Hi man,

Houman and Mexico are still working on Beta3. Lots of boring stuff to do before a new release. But be sure it would be great, some of the changes will be... interesting, beautiful and more realistic.
Be patient.
