[MOD][WARLORDS] ViSa Modpack

Playing visa ver 2.0, love the mod. Two things I've noticed so far:
1) Great Statesman & Doctor screen shows up in pink, not critical, I'm sure you'll fix that at some laster point.
2) Techs do seem to come very fast, I'm playing normal speed, large map, 16 Civs. At 1700 I'm building Broadway, have railroads since 1660, & since 1685 my destroyers have been patroling my coastlines. None of the AI civs have units much more advanced then maceman, knights and cats. I haven't upgraded my ground forces yet since in about 5 to 8 turns I should be able to upgrade them all to inf or cav. I don't mind having a bit of a tech lead but this is somewhat overpowering. :)

Well there are certain slingshots that can be made but if all the AI's are behind you across the board, then what difficulty are you playing?

And hopefully when we put the Genetic Era in it will also be the right time for Blake's BetterAI so the AI will be much improved then.

Playing the latest patch 2.1. Deleted Visa mod folder and reloaded as suggested. Can not change Civics. I tried just clicking on various civics without any luck.

Hmmm, that is a new one....

I just started a new game so no Civics are available, but loading up a save game has it working just fine....

I also went into WB to give myself techs and then it allowed Civic changes too...how odd you have this problem...what civic options do you have enabled that it won't let you choose?

The game may be playing correctly just a little confusing. When I discovered writing I was asked to change to heritage. Same with pottery and herbalism. When I went back and looked at the civics again these do not exist even though they are discribed in the tech tree as available with that technology. I guess this is just a hold over from earlier versions and that they are not suppose to exists. Thanks for all the great work

after you dl and extract the patch how will you know if it is installed right. will it say version 2.10 on title page

Something is seriously wrong with your game and I can't reproduce any Civic problem.

We haven't touched the Civics for 2-3 weeks :)

Of course...and in the ViSapedia too.

The MSI Installer has some weird errors on updating so we had to go back to the basic release this time.

I can suggest a reasion for the difference btween musket factory and TNT factory - Muskets are used for killing , there's really no other use for them. TNT was ans is still used in many fields - construction, demolition , engineering etc - also stuff like dyes etc were develped out of the nitroglycerine industry as were some of the side products like nitrous fertilisers ( +10% food).

Thanks Axil I appreciate it. But I still don't gettit.

Musket factory reduces war weariness by 30%

TNT factory increases war weariness by 10%

I think I might just shut up rather than rile the boss. Lots to enjoy in this wonderful mod.

Will the source SDK be released for 2.10?

Didn't I answer this already?

We are not bound by any agreement to release any source code...we will when we can as many team members are very busy in RL. And we want to make sure there are no problems that require a quick fix patch before releasing the source code.

All feedback is welcome...but be aware of the :spank:

Sorry, I didn't mean to be impatient. I thought that you responded to my question a/b ver 2.0 sdk by saying that you were going to release it with ver 2.1. I know you're really busy; thanks for all the hard work.

I'm playing at warlords level, normally I play at monarch but for testing I lowered the level so I can try different things. Thanks for the quick reply TAFirehawk :)

Sounds like it is in the wrong directory....check to see what folders are in VISA to start.

I did both a patch over existing VISA and a clean install....both worked. Although I forgot to 'uninstall v2.00' so my registry settings are still there I suppose.

Well that handicaps the AI so they learn tech slower....

Something I've been wondering for awhile now and keep forgetting to ask, and I had looked and couldn't find an answer...

What does the name "ViSa" come from? :)
