WOW!!! I didn't expect to generate this discussion like it has. My original problem was that I knew for a fact that I had posted a question about getting the sound off 100%. It had been answered by someone at Firaxis as to how to edit the civilization3.ini file and insert "NoSound=1" (or something to that effect.) I just couldn't find it, even though I knew it was there, and the frustration of the moment got to me. I needed to find the answer because I had reloaded my computer and Civ3.

I sincerely, honestly, truly appreciate all the hard work that you as moderators and administrators do on my behalf so that I can enjoy your forum. Thank You.

I never considered the load on the server that performing a search would require. My 'throat cutting' comment was meant to be a figure of speech for something that was counter-productive (in my limited understanding). I apologize if I offended anyone.

Again, I do thank all of you for the work that you are performing so that I might enjoy the fruits of your labor. Thanks.

Odd

and its opposite, even.

13, obviously is an odd number. Lefty, with 5 letters is odd. So is Padma. Chieftess has 9, also odd. Thunderfall however with 10 is even. So, some, perhaps most moderators are odd, but Thunderfall isn't.

Search probably will remain off until the forum is upgraded to vB 3.0. I tried turning it on just 30 minutes ago and it caused "too many connections" and server busy error shortly after.

I am also contacting Telefragged to see what they can do about the problem.

It was rough there for that little while it was on. I was attempting to send PMs and it was just so frustrating.

All of your forums are set to a default display of 1000 days. If you changed OT to 30 days, it would probably cut your server querries in half.
