Modern Warfare with Revolutions

That is not right and you have probably have custom assets running that interfere. Maybe another version of BUG?

Well, what i have is civ4 with BTS 3.19 patch then downloaded the newest version of modern warfare mod with revolutions. what do u mean by a different version of BUG?
and where and how can i do that?

Have u got any custom assests installed? They are located here
C:\Users\BobeBrown\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CustomAssets
Delete custom assets to check!

Can you post a screenshot of the errors? And what interface errors does it lead to? Post a python log too if u want, To do that go to
C:\Users\Nathan\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword
Open CivilizationIV.ini and turn on the logging by changing the 0 to 1.
then when you go in game and see the errors, tab out and post the Python error logs contained in
C:\Users\BobeBrown\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Logs


If its just a spam of errors showing and has no effect on gameplay, then I dont think you have a problem. But I really cant understand how this happens, this mod works perfect. Did u unzip it ?
 
Where does the installer put the UserSettings folder?

.. Oh wait, you just have a zip? If jmmbutte is on win6.x, that would explain the write errors when BUG tries to save the option to its ini files.

the erroring doesnt effect gameplay at all but it just spams my screen and is annoying.
the error is as follows. BugOptions - failed writing 'C:\program files (x86)\firaxis games\sid meier's civilization 4\beyond the sword\mods\modern warfare\user settings\ (whatever i change in the options) .ini
so its just saying its failing to write to the .ini file.

i also checked in my custom assets. there just empty folders
 
On windows Vista and Windows7, you'd need to run Civ4 as administrator to write to the program files folder or any of its subfolders.
Alternatively you can move the UserSettings folder to My Games\Beyond the Sword\Modern Warfare\ - at least that should work if the third line in the sid meier's civilization 4\beyond the sword\mods\modern warfare\assets\python\contrib\CvModName.py file says modName = "Modern Warfare".

Maybe you are logged in as a user with administrator rights? Or you are on XP? Or you didn't install Civ to the program files folder?
Well my knowledge of windows6 and higher is limited and so is the experience of how BUG behaves there, so maybe there are even more possible reasons why you don't get those error messages. You'd have to ask EmperorFool or someone equally qualified for that though.
 
Im going to release an update either today or tommorrow. It will have RevDCM 2.722 and will be a little different this time around. Technology tree has been reworked so there is more technologies, units, buildings and wonders. Some units have been added to reflect what the militarys in present time are preparing for production, So they are high end of the modern era touching future era.

It will also include Next War mod in modular form, so it can be deleted if you do not like playing the future era from Next War.

i saw that you only added events in the event xml files - no extra python, is that true?

very good mod.

I didnt actually make them so i cant speak for the two that did, but im sure they were created for everyone to use. They are events from AntiLogic (about 45) and events from Voltage (about 7) and they all use XML, no python. There was a couple terrorist ones in there somewhere. Voltage made an event that caused the World Wonder Trade Towers to disappear and was a terrorist event, but i thought be a bit tasteless to put it in.

After downloading your mod, I must say... impressive work. Definitely a quality mod. I haven't got to try it much, but from what I see, it looks good. I just have a few questions? Perhaps it's just my computer though...

Blue Marble: It works when I'm not using your mod, but once I load the mod, alas, no Blue Marble. Am I doing something wrong?

In the Civilopedia/Sevopedia, the olives just shows as a red mound. Also, many of the new wonders don't have histories, or are rather replaced by phrases such as... TEXT_KEY_BUILDING_(something goes here, lol).

Finally, when choosing a custom game, and choosing a leader, one would expect the names to be in alphabetical order, but Mao Zedong and Lech Walesa are out of place.

It does work with this mod. You just have change two things to allow it,

1. Open the Modern Warfare folder
2. Open Modern Warfare.ini (Configuration settings) with notepad or a text editor
3. Change 'Custom Art from the user folder is not loaded' from the 1 to 0.
4. Change 'Custom XML and Python from user folder are not loaded' from 1 to 0
5. Save, Done.

Yes that is a graphical bug in the civlopedia. But do not worry, its all fine in game just a civlopedia entry.

@ Histories

Takes a great deal of entering all the Histories. I am in the process of adding them slowly but it is very time consuming. They dont have any effect on gameplay or add any new information its just a final touch that is a work in progress.

@ Mao and Lech

They are in the correct place, Its arranged by their first name, M and L.

Hehe, Maybe your computer is illiterate :crazyeye: The music is not done but it is on the short list to make everything polished. I never play with sound so never notice :lol:

EDIT - Yes I accidently included a water.dds file inside art folder. That is loaded instead of Blue marble water.dds. I've removed it now and PAK'ed the art file again. Im uploading it with that fix, should take about an hour and be ready.
