As I played through Rise of Mankind, I realized that it lacked one very important science. Meteorology, the study of weather patterns. Throughout history, the accurate prediction of weather has lead to success in battle, or disaster. Yet, Rise of Mankind offers only a few meteorology techs in the modern and future eras. This is historically inaccurate, as Aristotle was the founder of Meteorology, and it had been researched for many centuries. So, I present to everyone, the Meteorology Addon.

Included in this Addon:

Techs:

  • [*]Cloud Patterns
    [*]Weather Lore
    [*]Weather Forecasting
    [*]Meteorology
    [*]Long-Range Forecasting
    [*]Climate Modeling

They all give bonuses, from extra ship movement to extra production from improvements.

Meteorology unlocks the National Wonder, the "National Weather Service" which provides 2 free scientists and a free Weather Station in each city.

Long-Range Forecasting unlocks the "Weather Station", which gives +5% science output, costs 25% more city maintenance, but gives all units the free promotion "Weather Forecasts"

"Weather Forecasts" is a promotion only given by the "Weather Station" that adds +1 movement, +10 defense, +2 range for aircraft.

I translated only tech name,nothing else(for myself but i want to devide to all), because it dont work in polish. But nice that you include this to your version.

Meteorology has been one of the things I've always wanted to have in RoM but never implemented it in any way. Couple years ago I had looked up timeline of meteorology, researched bit World Meteorological Organization etc... now all that info is gathering dust on my hard disk (like many other things that haven't been implemented to RoM)... But, it's good that you've made this addon so I can try it out :)

I have plans to add a national wonder, the National Weather Service, or some such place, and weather radar stations, but I've been busy with other mods...

I dont see this buildings and promotion in servopedia. I dont know why!

HERE you have a file transalated to polish to your new version but i have problem with your buildings and promotion.

Post a screenshot of the contents of the meteorology folder in your modules folder. I'll take a look at it. I updated the Meteorology gametexts and uploaded it, now version 1.11. I haven't updated Afforess's Pack yet though, it's too small of an update. I'll include it in the next one though.

Problems only exist in polish version. The same is on your modpack. In english is ok, in polish i dont have any leaderheads, buidings or units names.Hmm.

Strange. Leaderheads? I never changed the text files on those.

The Polish language is using the french tags, is that why?

If the game misses even a single tag for the currently activated language, it screws up *all* text. A rather strange quirk of the game.

So if your Polish translation uses the French tags, but his translation has new tags (which you can do, as long as you modify all text files and add it to the list of languages), then his game doesn't find the additional Polish tags (only the French tags) in your text files and goes bonkers.

Yes Polish using French tag so if anyone want to play modmods in Polish language needs to make sure that texts files of modmods have <French> tags below <English> tags.
 
But i translated all text in tags <French>something</French>. Problems i have with only custom leaderhead, unit and buldings. Even i adds your mods Jooyo (polish empire) i didnt have names of polish empire and polish units and buildings. Only names in custom folders. Strange.

The same problem exist when i add arranda custom civics.
