Monarch succession game (PTW)

Im gonna start a monarch succession game. It will be pretty standard sets:

Continents
%70 water
Standard Size Map
Not sure what civ to use yet, which one do you want?

Make sure you are using the latest patch. Also, please make sure you are good enough to at least win consistently on regent. Who wants to join?

I would play if I had PTW...just have vanilla Civ3. Not too many vanilla Civ3 sg's out there any more..........

I am definitely interested. I am very new to PTW, so I would not mind playing one of the new Civs.

I am consistently winning on Monarch and am about to win my first Emperor level solo game.

i would like to join. i have played one game on regent and steamrolled everyone. on my first game in monarch i quit because i had everyone by the balls. i will be getting my civ 3 back up and running after a depressing and sometimes suicidal two weeks without it. have you ever noticed how repetitive real-time strategy can get. especially in CCG with those overlords.

Great! I will leave it open for another 24 hours for people to join and then we start. What civ do you guys want to use. Oh and one more thing. I am now easily winning another monarch game, And it sounds like you guys are winning easily on monarch too. So do you want to try something a little more challenging and do an emperor game? What do you think?

i would accept an emporer game, and if you start soon, put me in the bottom of the lineup. also persia all the way. if we get a crappy land grab, then we can just whip out my favorite beating sticke that is commonly called the "immortal". I also think that we should go from most experienced players to least inexperienced players on the lineup IMHO

I think it's probably better to spread the veteran players out across the lineup, rather than have them in descending order. This way, veteran players can correct mistakes that the less experienced players make by going immediatley after them.

alright, but i still think that we need the most experienced for the starting turns.

I think that the first twenty turns are important, so it's good for a veteran to do them. The turns after that aren't as important since they are more-or-less following on from what was started and don't usually require hard decisions.

So yes, you definitely want to start with a strong player, but it's ok if you have a weaker player after that. Sorry for the thread-jack btw

I am up for emperor using PTW or vanilla Civ. Persia is one of my favorite Civ's and I have often used immortals for pointy stick research and expansion.

i vote for patched ptw if thats ok. i currently dont have civ 3 and it is uninstalled, but il be borrowing a copy tommorrow so i dont know how long a can "borrow" it. i could get a no cd crack, but i dont know if that is legal.

Okay, we are starting the game on emperor with a patched version of ptw. bewareofgnomes, it is legal to use a cd crack if you own the cd and have it in your posssesion. If you are going to be playing on a cracked game you dont own, then I cant let you play. Im sorry, nothing personal, but thats the way it is.

Here ae the settings:

middle age (5 billion yrs or something, the standard thing)
Standard size
8 civs
Civ: Persia
Difficulty: Emperor

Bewareofgnomes: If you have the CD in possesion then I guess you can play. But if you have a cracked cd that you dont own then you cant. As I said sorry, nothing personal.

We will leave it open to people until we have 4 players. Btw, do you want to play sirp? You would be welcome.

We will go in 20 turn increments. once it is posted you have 24 hours tosay you have it and 24 hours after that to post it. After the first 24 hrs, if you havent got it yet then you will be skipped. Once your turn comes up again if you dont get it that time then you will be dropped. Good luck everyone!

well, i own it, its just that mine is scratched. so can i play if i just install my friend's and use the crack? this wontt be a problem with ptw

@ bewareofgnomes: Well if you own the cd, then you can play. Even if you are using a crack. Because that is legal.

I am going to make a change in the lineup. Stormrider, could you play the first 20 turns? We should probably have more experienced people go first and you seem to be the most experienced, socould you go first? Thanks!

It is a sorry state of affairs when I am the most experienced player - as of last night I won my first emperor level game!!!

That being said, I do not mind going first, but as of now, I only have 1.14f patch. Do I really need the latest and greatest? I have a dial up connection at home and it kind of takes a while to download these patches (not that I mind if that is what needs to be done). In fact, I am in another SG with Sirp right now using 1.14

Let me know which patch and give me the game file and I will get started.

Just wanted to let you know that CivGeneral is up in Sirp's game now. I am going to play a shadow and if he doesn't post a got it by tonight, my shadow will be the official turn and you would be up.
Just don't want to see you get skipped again.
