Photographer Shane Thomas was documenting the ghost cities of China, partially constructed uninhabited cities, when he came across what appear to be Mongolian yurts in the urban wasteland.

They are pretty.

Yurts are indeed beautiful. Very affordable housing.

It would be fun to take over an abandoned city. Shoot, I'd considered moving to Detroit before my kid was born.

I love yurts. But those are really fancy and clearly don't belong to pastoralist nomads--mopeds aren't that useful on the steppes.

Still pretty cool.

Quit horsing around. I Khanate take these horrible puns anymore, they're steppeing on my sanity. It's like yurt guys want to shoot an arrow through my heart.

I apologize for saddling this thread with more puns, but I can't help but want to spur you onto insaneighty.

I mane seriously. Nomadic how much I try I just cannot husbandry the thought anymore.

Aral drink to that.

What is the most likely scenario for this city in the future? It seems a bit big too simply tear down and begin anew. Ah well, #RetakeInnerMongoia
