MOO2Civ

Python error upon initialization and the program exits. No other details are given. (I've had to reinstall BtS before, but this is new; and I'm running Vista, BTW.)

Eh... no, BtS itself won't start (that's when the python fail occurs). ori gave me a tip on starting BtS, which I'm gonna try now.

EDIT: Still getting the python init fail...

Also clear the civ4 cache. That was the problem for me once when a problem survived removing and reinstalling the game. I can't remember how to do that though.

Anyone have issues starting a new custom game with this? I spend about 10 minutes at the green loading bar screen immediately after launching a custom game before I get a crash to desktop.

I'm using this in conjunction with Vista 32, BTS 3.19 and Steam, if that matters.

Patch L installs to Civilization 4 instead of Sid Meier's Civilization 4 by default. It creates a new directory path there. Patch K picks the right installation directory by default.

I just move the files :-)

Can't wait to try the mod :-)

Can't get Patch L to run.
I deinstalled both K and L, then reinstalled patch L, this time modifying the path already in the installer so that the path matches my BTS mods. The mod appears to load correctly. Starting it, it freezes immediately when it displays the progress bar with "Initializing..." This means I never got as far to a map or anything.

Were trying to start up v. 4k or another version?

I believe I was on 4L (installed 4k, installed 4L over that). Not sure if that's the right way to do it, the download page was a bit confusing to me.

My problem too. After about 10-15 minutes it would finally progress beyond that and then crash to desktop.

My suggestion would be to stick with the version that actually works, as I've got currently no clue what the problem is with patch 4l, other than a faulty install path. (I'll reload a version of 4l with correct intall path later today.)

Looks like a really good mod, though at custom games it crash at the loading screen as soon it hits where it loads the graphics. :-/

That is for both 4l and 4k :o

OK, I've added links to previous Full Install versions to the patch 4l download page for now, in order to provide everyone with at least one working version of the mod. (Link is 2 posts down.)

I am having a problem trying to play the moo2 mod. I installed the mod by using the auto installer and placed the mod into the appropriate directory however when I went into the game to load the mod, the mod was no where to be found however in the mod selection screen there were new things to select like assets,ect... I loaded each of the new selections and none of them seemed to be the mod at all. what do I need to do to get the mod to work?

Sounds like no MOO2Civ mod folder was created in \BtS\Mods. If you add a mod folder named "MOO2Civ" and cut and paste the files therein - the ones that are in the \BtS\Mods directory, but aren't in any of the mods - you should be fine. (Alternatively, delete those file from the \BtS\Mods folder and reinstall, but make sure when the auto-installer asks to create a mod folder to click "Yes".)

Ill be adding some notes on install problems to the patch 4k and 4l download pages (and maybe add an Install Problems thread to the subforum) later.

Help, I'm lost. Well, sort of. Installed patch k, got it in the wrong folder so could not run the game (defaulted to desktop). Created the MOO2CIV folder you mentioned to civ4newbie. Everything worked until it came time to start the game, then I got a Final Frontier start game screen (???) and after a moment the game crashed to the desktop. Obviously doing something wrong but I have no idea what.
Any help/suggestions appreciated.
PS: Final Frontier and Planetfall installed and work fine, it's just MOO I'm having problems with.
