Is there a cap on how many resources you can add, a soft cap that messes up the font?

I added a resource, without any special art (ala movies/hit music etc) but then in-game my happy faces were messed up as if I screwed up the GameFont_75.tga (which I checked it and it was fine with the alpha channel), took the resource out and everything went back to fine.

If there is a cap, soft or otherwise, any way around it?

I'm nearly 100% sure there is a cap and you found it. Not positive on the exact number though. How many do you need?

Well just to let you know that the normal cap was removed in the World of Civilization. The new private non released one we are working I know has 368 available spots for resources.

Here is a preview of the new GameFont.

Thanks Woodelf, as always further in your debt! :)

And Johnny, I looked at the world of civ. and it looks great, just I'm way to stupid to get it to work I think...my first question is if I set it up, will I still be able to play "nromal" mods/games? (I looked all through the threads and coudlnt' find that answer) which if so, will give me the freedom to keep poking at it til it works....and yes 378 would be really sweet for a empire builder (rather than war monger) such as myself.

Yes you can play normal mods. All it is for is to have a better modular system.

If you want to, but not recommended. You can change the files in it like you would normally. The only thing is you need to look at the examples already there to see if anything was added extra to the xml. All of the folders under modules can be moved out of it but you need to leave the two MLF xml's that see at the top in the modules folder.

I would recommend though to look at the folders in the modules folder. The purpose of them is to have an example of what you need to do. We tried to make as many as we could, but there could always be new ones of course.

There is a folder called resources in the modules folder. That is where the modular resources are at. If you look at the examples in their I think you will understand it more. The art is inside of the modules folder now as well to be made easier to remove and add them.

So you need to make a folder with the name of your resource and then copy the xml examples form another resource folder and put them in your new folder. Next just change the xml and change out the art in the folder. Not hard at all.

It is may look difficult at first, but after just copying an example and altering it I think you will see it is just that simple. That is why it is confusing.

If you need more help feel free to ask anytime and we have a chatroom as well if you would like to chat about it.

thanks johnny, I apprciate the help...I've futzed with WOC for a day now and got everything loaded <I think> but when I right click on the assets folder to do the svn checkout I get an error saying

Error: PROPFIND of '/Assets': Could not resolve hostname `worldofciv.svn.sourceforge.ne...dofciv': The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for. (http://worldofciv.svn.sourceforge.ne...dofciv)

I get a similar error when I try to do the library, I do understand i'm just being stupid and not putting in the right address, but I'm going directly from the link...so I dunno what I'm doing wrong or where to fix it.

Otherwise really looking forward to playing/using it!

Sounds like you were not connecting correctly. Don't know what exactly the problem is for sure. But that sounds like the server was down. It does that sometimes. If you can not get it after waiting a little while and trying again please let me know.
