Most Scary movie

I tried to scary myself by watching The Ring last night, and it turned out laughable, although not as silly and laughable as the Exorcist. (Nothing is funnier than seeing 2 grown men sprinkling water onto to a screaming girl and yelling "the power of Christ compells you" :D ) The girl is possessed by some demon, so what? What is so scary about that?
So, what in your opinion is the most scary movie? For me, the Shinning is probably somewhat scary. Since I have never been scared by a movie, this is probably the msot scary for me.

What's so scary about The Exorcist? It makes you scared of getting possesed; that's what's scary about it.

I was quite young when I saw Jurassic Park at the cinema (on their largest screen) and was terrified. Kept hiding behind the seat in front of me, and popped up once only to see the T-Rex bearing down on the camera.

Sadly, nothing has ever really scared me since, though I would love to be terrified once again. The PC game Alien vs Predator was pretty creepy though, especially when playing as a lowly marine in the middle of the night.

What about Silence of the Lambs?
I was terrified when I saw that for the first time. I couldn't sleep for 3 days because I thought Buffalo Bill was looking at me through the night-vision goggles.

I hate it when people laugh during horror movies.

It's just inappropriate. There's nothing funny going on- it's obviously just a coping mechanism for people who are genuinely frightened.

What's wrong with laughing at stereotypes of movies?

For me, the Silence of the Lambs was more thrilling than scary, and Lecter's face - pull was the scariest part for me. Also, the doorbell scene.

Or it means they are amused when someone is scared,I had this maniacal grinning laugh when I was out with ma friends watching some scary movie.

What really however jumps me is them japanese movies, brrrrrrrl. They can make some really morbid things.

Mars Attacks! scared me so much that I taped over it so that it was gone forever... that was about 8 years ago, though.

Sounds cool.
Another movie named after a misfits song:D :king:

If you saw the fog, you'd understand why people like me laugh their asses off at horror movies..THAT MOVIE WAS A WASTE OF 2 HOURS AND 10 BUCK!!! GAAAAAA!

Care Bears: The Next Generation

I'd have to say that "Salem's Lot" starring David Soul, freaked me out when I saw it as a kid. That kid vampire floating at the bedroom window. Scratching at the window.

Saw Hostel tonight...

Besides the first 30 minutes being a porno, it was pretty good.

It wasn't scary so much as frighteningly disturbing. A couple parts just happened so quickly you didn't have time to get ready to be scared and it was a pretty good gore flick I think.

It seems that there are two ways people have interpreted this word, 'scary".

So here is what I would say be scariest/most frightening movie.
I would say Archnaphobia, considering that I do not like spiders.

And here is my scariest/why bother movie
I would say some of the later Police academy movies. After the first three, why should they have bothered in with this series. It is even scarier that they made a TV series about this. Now that is scary.

Nah! I can get scared by thinking movies, but I find the poor plots of most hack-and-slash movies to be genuinly funny.

The original "Halloween" was very scary. The "Exorcist" routinely gets voted scariest film of all time. The very first "Friday the 13th" was scary as well.

Todays movies are just not as scary. Simple because the standard has been set and you know what to expect. The movies I mentioned were truly innovative for their time and helped set the standard for scary.

My mom has that on DVD... as well as Psycho and One Flew Over the ****o's nest...

I'm scared now...

When I was a kid, it was the Omen II. It messed me up for months! Everytime I walked to school I thought a raven was going to peck my eyes out. Now the movie is very laughable.

As an adult, I'd have to say that Jaws has had the most lasting impression and I still don't like the ocean to this day. Alien is still very creepy, as well as The Ring. I think that The Shining is the best film at capturing many aspects of a perfect horror movie.
