Multiplayer Limits

Apparently there is a 5 player Multiplayer limit for the Ancient and Exploration era and 8 players for modern on PC. This is asinine.

I guess that does it for my friend group. Pretty sure this kills our interest since we can’t all play together. Firaxis, this is awful.

Let’s not jump to conclusions. Civ 6 “officially” had a limit of 8 but supported 12. You could do even more with mods.

If there is a Nintendo Switch involved, it‘s just 4 and 6 players (depending on era), as the switch doesn‘t allow for standard and above map sizes. This means small map size is 4&6, with 5&8 being standard. I‘m sure there will be bigger maps, officially, as mods, or paid content.

I wonder how the „map gets bigger and new players come in“ will work in MP. Or is it really thinkable that MP is restricted to one age only?

No i think you can do all three eras but that just makes the decision to allow a greater limit at the final portion even weirder if so

Bad player? Tired of being eliminated early on in each round? You can now join again later on with a new civ and get revenge in Sid Meier‘s Civilization VII.

Yeah true, but also not fair to the people who want to play all the rounds if there are more than five imo
