Oh and disagree with pagan temple...we don't have religion yet (right? Even if we do investing 60-120 hammers is a waste to only pick up a 0/4/1 tile) and priest slots is very much a mid-game usefulness, not something to go for now.

Monuments are also a BIG waste now - pop with a thane instead.

Unless you are building a work boat instead, I don't see how it's better?

Optics is easily teched, we only need it at the last second before taking the town.

Just opened the save, we switched to God King as well or was I not paying attention? We can switch to Aristocracy before the golden age ends.

Aylesbury can work one of the forests (or copper if you are bold) instead of the grasslands to hurry along production. Paradera can also finish the monument in record time. General MM is needed.

Agree that popping culture with a Thane in Aylesbury is a good thing to hopefully get that last cove location, it still needs a monument to hold the square.

New thoughts on the Elohim war - don't bother. Even though taking the town is really easy with the world spell, we still need to dedicate about 10ish troops...which we don't have. Maybe we can still get optics to splash the goblin fort?

It looks like the barbarians have settled a town near the eastern silk/cow region.

Pagan temples are great, we should absolutely learn Philosophy soon. Other needs in no particular order: Knowledge of the Ether for water adepts, Construction to chain irrigation, Warfare for the Titan, Arete for the mines/Bambur, Writing for libraries.

Looks like we get another Engineer in 4 turns! So many things to do with him...since we don't have to save him (we get LOTS more later) I would get the great lighthouse or maybe even the Black Wind. We DO have need of a good exploring ship...

Yeah I've had a chance to open it, but not much firther.
I will get to it tomorrow (barring emergencies), but I had a bunch of things pop up yesterday, and hand in a assignment today.
Cove placement has a few micro errors in it, but I'll reconfig those.

I will start my turn shortly.

I had the same problem at first, Akatosh, it could be the download, or a bad install. Either way, try this link for the download and then go here for the Nox patch.

Sorry for the derail, but a quick question... Kiech, I have tried downloading and reinstalling 3 times with the Nox patch, and I still have no interface and no music as well. Are there particular instructions for the install? Like which directory it needs to go in? I read the entire EitB v9 thread and there's no discussion of my issue.

I re-installed both EitB and FFH2 and it was fine...I don't know enough about the installer to tell you what the problem is. :(

Sorry for short update.
I'm leaving home for a week tommorow, so things are stressed.
I won't have civ then, so if it gets back to me I'll be unable to play.

Important happenings:
Cleared the gobbo fort early (swordsmen FTW), activated Guardians by mistake, watch out for them.
One more city, couldn't quite push out another for the cove but eh well.
Settler to settle where its sent, mob the statue if it attacks.
Send thane there too.
I've been going aristo on grassland, and as we'll mostly have that think we shouldw stick wtih it.
Rushed tGLH
Research builds was to clean up AH, remember my micro is wacked by having to finish everything off, so be ready to change builds.

We rolled auric!!
We seem to bet the best combos :)
Head to philosophy, build the ritual, rush the palace.
Then KOTE, push out as many Ice1/arcane adepts as possible.
Stasis gives GA as well in mod so I'd do it right away to speed up the next engineer.
I reoffered the trades so we aren't unhappy, and covered the settler.
Ethne hates us now, expect war by end of set.
Scouts are to make contacts/find civs.

It looks like the pristine pass event is also being reset each game as it was already tripped.

All of our units now have winterborn, nice! I hope they keep it when we switch again.
I highly suggest against building any temples of the hand.
We missed out on one cove, but otherwise, it all looks pretty good!
I guess we get to keep our religion, and can build thanes - but Arete is just out of the picture for now. Oh yea, and we are evil.

Philosophy first for sure followed by Knowledge of the Ether, then either low cost techs: Warfare/Military Strategy and Horseback Riding with Archery thrown in for lumber mills; or Smelting/Iron working so we get Wilborman.

Not sure why we chopped down our forests? I would have rather lost cottages than the production if we need farms.

To try and win back the tile in time to build another cove.
Didn't work unfortunately :(
What cove did we miss?
Like I said, I changed the configuration so we could fit one in the new city to the east.

Remember scutarii: we don't need to work the coves to get them to grow (relevant now that there 1f tiles).

Is it just me or are the pagan temples only giving 1 happy rather then two?

We could have squeezed in one more in the west, I should have noticed it earlier, but we could have also coved 1 south of my most western mark.

The incense will activate when we learn philosophy.

Ah okay.
Damn me for not looking at that area :(

Scutarii hasn't posted in the forums in over 11 days. Not sure whats going on here, but it seems like we are down to 3 players??

My idea is at "here" mark... speaking of settling

Spoiler :

"here" is where I'd settle too. Incredible cottage/mine hybrid with the three food sources.

I think it would also be a good candidate for a new capital if we had it up and running long enough before building the palace

I have been eyeing that spot too. Its right next to a goblin fort, lizard lair and a spider however...best bring a large defense team when you settle.
