Multipolarity II - Game Thread

Also, I'd like to see if we have any winners.

I think (even if brazil dropped out of the DC), the Diamond Coalition wins for being the only solid collection of states that were motivated and worked together.

We were tech trading, troop sharing, planning, etc. It was glorious.

I had like 14 clients, Phil, and the best culture. Not sure how many clients thor has, but as far as soft power goes, we were close.

I had the largest army and best army tech.

Most pop.

Not best industry, but I was gonna fork 500 a turn towards that.

Idk.. I think I did the best out of anyone else in the game, as far as pure power goes. I had the most rev too.

So essentially.. do I win? :P

I was about to call almost the entire world to arms against you, if they would have answered you might not have.

I was going to, in essence, create global NATO. In other words, turn the whole world against the DC.
Yep, you suuuure won.
EDIT: Lol at the above being my plans :p

These games always die at their most climatic point, so much so a clear victor isn't detectable given the circumstances. :P

Oh right. The intrigue file.

Didn't keep much. Fairly straightforward game.

Turn 1

Mandatum targeted Formatting Crew; League of Justice targeted Oz - These were both ordered by Katterland, their harborer.

Katterland convinced Oz to invade FC.

Turn 2

Katterland signed a treaty with Oz to preserve peace that ceded land; Katterland also signed an agreement with the FC to invade Oz.

Turn 4

Mandatum was working for both the USSR and London. It agreed to betray the USSR and auto-fail two missions against London to appear in good faith the USSR.

===

I think it's pretty blatant that the entire world was about to commence Operation: Roflstomp on the USSR after such a huge client grab. :p

All you guys have to answer against my imminent victory are threats that "I was about to get people to attack you".

Moscow Informant Snippet

>15 billion nations go to war with USSR
>TaniciusFox: The USSR is boned.
>Partitionania: The USSR is boned LOL U SHOULDNT HAVE INVADED
>Everyone else: HA HA HA WE'RE GONNA KILL YOU. The Soviet peoples will be destroyed!
>Sonereal: WMD AT USSR TROLOLO
>Everyone: USSR has no friends, its 12v1, USSR LOSES

5 turns later

*crickets chirping*

I have yet to see any action against me, besides Angola.

I had plans to send about 40 troops to my north provinces, and 40 to the southern province. With my clients help, even if 14 of them sent 3 troops each.. that's 42 extra troops.

I had imminent victory.

Moreso, I hadn't used WMDs at all. The most that could be done would be more embargoes, and the triple embargo wave did a total of like, 20 income damage against me.

Finally, the whole world was against the USSR from the moment I stepped foot into Partitionanian lands. I proudly say that I was gaining 30+ provinces per turn, and doubling my income each turn, despite the war/embargoes/hatemail.

Who else would be the winner, then?

Actually, if me and Mosher focused on one side we could win against your troops.

Edit: Plus all the people I was about to Call to Arms.

The game ended at a most climatic point. This is akin to the Allies landing in Normandy, then all the sudden God comes out and says "sorry I don't wanna do this anymore." and now world is awaiting an epilogue written by Jesus. A winner can't be decided based on the circumstances. Not in my opinion at least.

The Soviets winning at Stalingrad would be a better example I think. Still, what tyo is saying is correct.

I agree with Tyo, but whatever it's over now.

My apologies! There was just too many things going on in mechanics, tensions, and personal disputes to feel the urge to continue!

Let us hope the new games avoid such! :)

I dunno. 40 troops to each front would have been too many for mosher to handle, at least. I was going to send 5 navies to finish Partitionania's navy off, the rest to kill mosher's navy (I had java, so they could have loaned me 5-10 navies). 40 troops attacking mosher's 4 occupied territories.

I think I was poised to end the war, especially with my clients. If not, I would have gotten damn close.

The fact that I also was far ahead throughout the war (keeping up my army, industry, tech, provinces, etc), and I kept it up for 4 turns, is merit enough.

People babbling about how "the Soviets are unstoppable", (like you, tyo!). If I was unstoppable, or generally seen that way, I think I deserve to get the title of victor of MP2. (even though the game didn't go on forever, it still lasted for quite a while. Long enough I believe).

Except both me and Mosher could just push one side and have the advantage in troops, I didn't have to hold the Baltic anymore.

Annnnnd the intervention of the 501st, UoC, Katterland, Catalonia, Rome, and probably even Swahili. And all their clients.

I think it's safe to say we would've had one hell of a war. :p

I am not declaring any victors. :p

I never said unstoppable, just that the USSR would likely become the game-killer that's by now become a theme of Tani's game. Which it basically did, just not as the clear-cut steamrolling winner.

Also, I'm just going to say this now: Me, Jeho, and probably Thor were gonna jump in. Plus possibly Kinich.

edit: totally ninja'd by tani.

Let's crunch the numbers, shall we?

Partitionania: 32 troops
Angola: 19 troops
USSR: 86 troops

Total client troops: 122 (whopping 35 from Siberia. Thanks thorvald!)
Total ally troops: 77

Assuming clients and allies give a measly 1/4 army count..

50 extra armies. Assuming they only give 1/4.

You lose.

As for UoC, Katterland, Rome jumping in.

1) China wanted to pounce thor, I would have supported them with tech/aid.

2) Victoria wanted to pounce Katterland

3) Rome wouldn't have significantly helped.

4) All the alliances against me fizzed into oblivion. Why should this last one be different? >.>

Annnnnd the intervention of the 501st, UoC, Katterland, Catalonia, Rome, and probably even Swahili. And all their clients.
Not to mention the rest of the Third World. :mischief:

Actually Tani, if you feel like PM-ing me your formulae, I'll crunch the numbers and see just how a united front would pan out.

So this game ended because of P_F?
