Multipolarity III - Game Thread

Ailedhoo, not even addressing the factual inaccuracy of your post, I said drop it, please.

OOC: factual inacccuracy? You give no evidence but a mear statement without back up.

Anyrate: in game stuff should give RP, not off site stuff.

OOC: His Holiness suggests you drop it.

Bowser [Costa Rica]:

BA. HA. HA.

Costa Rica is indifferent to this war. We do, however, encourage both powers to make use of latrines for all waste disposal needs. Plumbing is the work of the Devil.

Shadow [Sinai]:

We lack interest in the War at this time. We will only consider involvement if it becomes apparent the international balance is threatened...

Negan [Aden]:

Hey, survival of the fittest. Declaring neutrality.

Save some for Lucille though, huh?

Enerjak [Granada]:

Indifference to the matter. I have to focus on my tulip garden.

Lucifer [Mozambique]:

Bowser, I take offense.

The following is set to the world in the official Imperial Webblog of Gilmore; legal to view in the Imperium of Man.

I, Emperor Gilmore Flanagon, have plans to improve industry that I declare to you all!

First I set two policies to improve both the industries of Man and the industries of Romney:

The Setting of Geothermal Power Stations and Research Facilities in Iceland: the Imperium desire to set project with Romney to develop a geothermal complex to exploit the energy source and to study it further to allow maximum power efficiency. Let it be declared that there we purpose private Manx geothermal power stations within Iceland, by side of the national power stations of Romney’s power and of course the complex we offer in suggestion. This complex will be known as Fury Domhain, the Irish for earth fury (OOC: according to Google translation). As well developing ways of generating energy for both the Imperium of Man and Romney’s Republic, we may also consider the study of chaos energy by using geothermal energy to power a special containment unit that will contain chaos energy, allowing us to study further energy power. This will be set part of Fury Domhain. Overall we will also consider if possible to set power link between Iceland and the Isle of Man. This will be difficult but could also the Imperium access to the energy. Baring that we should consider develop special ships to carry the energy raw on board to be processed in Manx power stations. All in all the policy is to set power for both our nations.

The allowance of Romney’s Republic to use workers from our labour camps in Australia: in thanks to allowing us access to geothermal energy we will offer Romney forced workers from the labour camps in Australia. These dissidents mixed up with criminals are redeeming themselves via hard labour. We permit Romney to access this labour to help with construction work. Take heed of this gift.

In relative news I decree that mining rights have been set to allow mining of iron on Newfoundland. This aid to our steel industry will be set by the developing of steel forges on Newfoundland and in the English settlement of Liverpool.

In links to mining we will begin scanning in Australia for uranium to mine for any possible atomic industries. We have noted an old map on Australian uranium mining and will use it for our search of the material.

austmap.gif

If successful we may see nuclear power stations developed in England to power the Isle of Man plus other parts of the British Isles, even though those not part of the Imperium if they so desire. Yeelime will especially serve Imperium mining policies, its uranium to be bared to our industry. We cannot trust our labour camps to set such important material so I am issuing an auction to all Manx mining companies in earn the right of constructing the first official marked uranium mine in the world to earn the title of the Gilmore Seal of Atomic Mining Standards. The mine will be placed at Yeelime. Let the G.S.A.S prove its worth to all who earn!

Glory to the Imperium and God! These policies will lead us to victory! Mann for victory!

War? Which war?

The Malay War of Aggression against Singapore. :p

This sounds so interesting. What happened?

Manx Radio Quick Break News

Presenting: Thomas Davies

Good noon my fellow citizens of the Imperium! After a long auction the Yeelime mine to be has been sold to a corporation for extraction. Surprisingly the buyer was not Gilmore’s father in law Jack O’Neil of O’Neil Industries nor the grand mining tycoon Siwan Argall of the Draig Mwynfa Cwmni (Dragon Mining Company) but Gwen Pugh of Meainagh y Vleaystey (Spring a Mine). Gwen Pugh will be given her mining rights to Yeelime by the Emperor himself outside the main mine entrance to be in the form of the G.S.A.S. Mining will be set as soon as possible. Uranium will be a material for a new dawn in Manx power. All hail Gilmore!

A quick note in response to the idea that other nations are physically as close as me and Singapore: they aren't. Prior to the invasion, we shared, I think, 4 different land borders that were not connected at all. In SE Asia, of all places, where the majority of borders tend to fall in water instead. If my nation had united provinces, and bordered the united Singapore, I wouldn't have a problem. And, I would have claimed differently had I known at the time Singapore was there. All that said, I would be willing to propose a peace under border re-distribution terms, seeing as how numerous nations seem to not like me expanding...which I thought was the point of an IOT. Go figure.

From: Greater Malay
To: Singapore

Upon the most recent events, and further consideration, we would accept your previous terms if they came with a border re-distribution. I.E. we keep the same number of provinces, yet change the borders to better prevent this very war. Which, in our view, was what caused this. The extremely spread-out nature of our nations posed a threat to my nation's continued survival. The northern Indochinese provinces from both nations would go to Malay, and the southern Indonesian provinces would go to Singapore. So that we have an equal number, thus maintaining a balance in the area.

Actually... NM.

I don't think I actually have time for this game. I haven't even got a good handle of the rules, and exams are coming up really soon.

Sorry, but just NPC me.

Orders: Build armies and send them into the rest of the unowned Canadian territories.

Who owns that land in Western Canada? The Republic of Canada would like to reunite all Canadian land under its domain, we are willing to negotiate.

In other news, the House and Senate elections have occurred.

The Conservative Party took the lead in the House of Representatives, obtaining 35% of the seats, with the Social Democrats a close second, with 31%. The Christian Democrats did fairly well, but were a distant third at 10%. The Libertarians were in fourth, with 9%, and the nationalists were in fifth, with 5%. The Red Party got 3%, with very small percentages going to the other parties. The 50-man senate is also controlled by conservatives, who have 26 of the 50 senators. The social democrats have 23, and the Christian Democrats managed to get one senator elected, from Quebec.

The Conservatives, Christian Democrats, and Libertarians had enough combined power to form a coalition, and have chosen the moderate David Baker to become the first President of Canada. With a fairly moderate political compass score of +3, +3, the Social Democrats have agreed to accept his nomination for the good of the country on condition that conservative senators agree to vote for social democratic senate minority leader Joseph Strider for Vice President. The Conservatives have agreed to these conditions.

Political Compass scores of the President and Vice President respectively showed here:

http://politicalcompass.org/crowdch...3.0&newname=Joseph+Strider&newec=-2&newsoc=+1

The House and Senate are in dispute over foreign policy. While the Libertarians have coalitioned with David Baker's Conservative Party and the Christian Democrats, the Conservatives perhaps agree more with the CNP on foreign policy than the parties they are actually coalitioned with. The Christian Democrats are strong social conservatives but generally side with anti-war advocates, considering violence to be against Jesus' teachings. The Libertarians are even more radical, claiming that any wars of aggression whatsoever, even against Canadian territory under foreign occupation, to be incompatable with the non-aggression principle. David Baker takes a much more interventionist stance, wanting a Canada which takes an active goal on the international affairs, and does not discount war as a possible solution to reunite Canada. There is also some debate in the Social Democratic party as to how much support for military intervention is justifiable. Unlike some of the minor parties, like the Libertarians, Reds, Anarchists, and Christian Democrats, the Social Democrats side strongly with David Baker on reunification of Canada, but there is dispute over whether it is worth a violent reunification if that is the only option on the table.

David Baker asks our neighbors under what conditions they would be willing to return to the old United States and allow the Republic of Canada to rule Canada. We would rather this be done diplomatically or financially than via war.

:c5culture::c5trade: Trade and Non-Aggression Treaty Proposal for Canada

Solitude is still waiting a statement from Canada about this proposal.

David Baker asks our neighbors under what conditions they would be willing to return to the old United States and allow the Republic of Canada to rule Canada. We would rather this be done diplomatically or financially than via war.
So long as Canada keeps their expansion on their end and leaves Solitude be. We've already have one other foreign power setting up a colony south of us in Eastern Virginia. I'd hope to seek other foreign powers keep their colonizations to a minimum in North America and take into consideration of other powers that are expanding.

The SCP questions the wisdom of this demand. You are near equal in strength, and are both major powers. Solitude has a stronger, if only by a margin, economy due to trade. casacadia is as well. So this means you have no big stick Casacadia is a state under a Enlightened Dictatorship, so I doubt their Dictator will just relinquish sovergionity without a fight. A bloody fight. also. Solitude also doesn't own any part of Canada. And Namibia is expanding into Virginia...and they already have proven that they are willing to try and bully other major powers around to get what they want. You have to be prepared for this fact.

OOC:Also...I have this sinking feeling that something is going to happen involving Hawai'i and Namibia...and it isn't going to be kawaii in its nature...have the wounds between Lighthearter and Christos healed? I hope so. Multipolarity 1 and all :nuke: related events aside...

Declaration of the Third Polish Union
In regards to the Malaysian aggression, we emplace an embargo, and withdraw our ambassador from Malaysia.
In regards to the Veldin rebels, we would like to have a mediated talk and reach an agreement between the two sides, to reunify the Germans without shedding blood. If no agreement is reached, the Third Polish Union promises that it WILL intervene.
-Signed, Krzyś Ostrowski, President of the Third Polish Union

OOC: Tani, can I get some sort of response?

OOC: Tani, can I get some sort of response?
the SCP believes that Veldin isnt going to peaceful reunify the nation. Our reason for believing this is that fact you did coup their government. They have a reason to not respond to your demands.

OOC: The president of Poland doesn't care what you think, to be honest.

Ratchet [Veldin Germany]:

Which is unfortunate, because the SCP is correct. Chairman Drek is a crook who only cares about plundering the nation for his personal benefit. If his budget isn't consumed by military spending, it will be consumed by his dozen new super yachts.

There can be no compromise between democracy and tyranny.

Chairman Drek [Drek Germany]:

I take offense to this!

You imply I already do not have a dozen super yachts. You underestimate my embezzlement skills, Lombax!

Ratchet:

To Drek:

...you're an idiot.
