Multipolarity III - Game Thread

ooc: presuming Canada, Japan, Russia, The Spammers, The Blood Empire and any other involved parties agree of course.

ooc: fear not! The Spammers are likely to want peace especilly as they have the Crusaders to think about, the Blood Empire has a war with Bowser to focus on, Japan left the war earlier I think, Russia is too locked with Poland to continue the Holy Atlantic War and Canada... Canada will have to follow the international set example of peace in our time. In the end I feel the others will agree to a peace settlement.

Our goals are merely the opening of international waters to everybody. Of course it is accepted. It's not like we did anything this turn around anyway.

ooc: well good then. Oh and Ailedhoo, I presume you include the papal suggestions on top of your original peace proposal. Mutual NAP's and a resumption of free trade all around is generally a good thing for peace methinks.

ooc: I will need to chat with PF for more on the matter but I think he accepted it.

Cathisis: ...

Firstly, we would like to declare the Romnesian Disaster (as is will be referred to in Spammer's historical documents) over and declare peace with all nations we may have been at war with. Now, for a rant.

Romney, I think you just beat France's position as most likely to surrender. Gah! Next time you want to surrender so quickly tell us before we waste any troops! Our soldiers thought they died for freedom. Turns out they died for nothing. We demand reparations from Romney for the ships we lost. We also demand a letter of apology to be written to every family of every soldier who lost their life in your war that you couldn't even be bothered to fight. Until then, you can enjoy an embargo.

We also would like to embargo Manx and Nambia if we have not done so already for their direct part in a bloodbath. We also embargo the Papal States to allow a bloodbath to be committed in the name of their god. We might lift these embargoes later, right now we are to angry about the loss of our soldiers to a pointless cause!

Also, who's blocking Gibraltar from me? Because we would like you to stop.

The Holy See would remind the Spammers Crusade that it has no control over the sovereign nation of the Imperium of Mann (the one nation which claims the war was one done to smite heresy), whom we note has had... doctrinal, issues, with the Catholic Church. Ergo we have no responsibility whatsoever for the independent actions of a sovereign state, which occured without our mandate, quite contrary to the Holy Sees position on the war.

As such, Embargoing us would merely be an act of hostility against an innocent party, an act which incidentally could, depending on interpretation, break the Non-Agression Pact that exists between the Spammers Crusade and the Holy See, and would be met with appropriate repercussions suiting a totally unjustified and hostile act on your nations part. Which we note would almost certainly result in more hardship for your people and many more lives lost. Especially considering certain neighbours of yours, presuming of course you persist in unjustified and completely baseless hostility towards the Holy See might see reason to join us in opposing such hostility to further their own interests...

Cathisis: We have apologised and we will lift the embargo immediately. Our annoyance with certain...other Catholic nations were passed on to you unfairly. As such, we will send 1 Kg of our finest spam as an apology present.

We lift the embargo against the Papal States.

The actions of the Kosta Rica Dictator are horrible to comprehend. Butchering a whole country just because it no longer recognised him as a prime ally. Is this all the lesser nations can expect? To be treated as property to be owned? Slaves to be whipped back into line if they choose differently from their master?

Koopa Rica

Amazonia lives off the riches that we gave them, that they invested and turned into an economic backbone for their nation. We are merely reclaiming what is rightfully ours. Had they paid reparations, this likely could have been avoided… alas, they did not. Our nations, in essence, inked a contract that they would receive funds, and we would receive a portion of the fruits of said funds; this contract was broken. Generalissimo Bowser is quick to forgive, but just as quick to punish.

As for the assault on the Blood Empire’s fleet… well that’s self-explanatory, now isn’t it?

Our respect of our allies' sovereignty is easily established; Colombia and Texas are consulted as equals, not as serfs. We did not demand the Texans cease expansion completely; we requested it and they agreed to leave some land for Tropico's needs. Likewise, the Colombians were not coerced to lend their forces against Amazonia, but offered a reward if they assisted in exacting justice.

The Holy See, in light of improved relations, has decided to (excluding those already with Free trade agreements with the Holy See ofc) offer free trade deals to Sinai, Tropico, Koopa Rica, Granada and Solitude.

Tropico accepts the offer. Let the sugar flow!

Granada accepts.

Koopa Rica accepts.

OOC: BTW what should the name of the war that is just ending be? I suggest the Holy Atlantic War.

Guinea War.

World War I isn’t very apt since the battlefield has entirely been Guinea.

Also, who's blocking Gibraltar from me? Because we would like you to stop.

That would be me.

This was at the request of His Holiness so as to contain your involvement in Romnesia. Should your peace accord be accepted, we shall re-open the straits.

Namibia offers trade to all communist/socialist nations in the world and the following nations: Koopa Rica, Tibet, Amazonia.

Russia wishes it to be noted that

a.) There are three sovereign lands below Russia, and a nation in Korea. There are no borders southwards that we can expand to, and if you look at the map, it is completely claimed by civilized parties.

b.) Russia is not the one declaring its intentions for war. If violent conflict breaks out, Russia will be the defender.

The Solitude Republic accepts the proposal.

I have warned you to not expand too close, and yet you have. How am I being the aggressor here? It seems to me that you are the one trying to instigate hate and war.

That's really silly, you know.

I tried limiting expansion, and look how that turned out.

We're done here.

The Holy See asked Sinai and Granada to close the straits/channel to warships of all those involved in the Romnesian War in order to generally contain the conflict and as a tokenistic action against the war itself. Trade of course being unnaffected.

The agreement on this was made prior to the Spammer Crusade actually making known its involvement, and as such it was not directly targetted against you, since you were at the time of the deal not involved at all.

We are both shocked and horrified that you did this. You allowed one side to freely send warships while another side was stifled. Our only ally in the Mediterranean were the Spammers, and no nation that was against Romnesia was contained.

In essence, you cut off one of our allies, and you should have known that your actions would do more harm than good, seeing as no enemies of Romnesia are in the Mediterranean sea.

To prevent another nasty embargo, I propose that the Holy See acquires 20 income and pays it to the Spammer's Crusade, for loss of life on both sides of the Romnesian war. Many lives could have been saved had the Spammers provided ships that would prevent Namibian forces from landing on the beaches and slaughtering thousands. This payment would atone for your mistake of closing the straight, which indirectly caused thousands of lives to be lost.

The Holy See would like to correct Romnesia's misinterpretation, which seems to imply that the closing of the straits only applied to Romnesia and its allies, and affirm that the closing of the straits applied to the warships of ALL parties involved in the Romnesian War. Furthermore we again note that the closing of the straits occured BEFORE the spammers became involved, and it only affected them post fact, due to their decision to become involved sometime after the agreement between the Papal States, Sinai and Granada was in effect, and without the knowledge of the three states involved.

As such, and considering the outcome that the Spammers Crusade would lose some naval quality (we note they were not blocked off from the war, due to their ports in the persian gulf and indeed participated in the Naval combat in the Gulf of Guinea) was completely unforseen, and thus no biased intent can be assumed inasmuch that the Crusades intervention was after the fact. Considering this fact, paying the Crusade moneys would be completely absurd, and be the equivalent of taking the costs of problems that were caused solely due to their own actions, especially considering no lives would of been lost at all if the Spammers crusade had remained uninvolved.

That's right. If they want to play it heroes, they will have to accept the cost of their wars and pay them themselves.

If they did not wanted their soldiers to be killed, then they would have not tried to help Romney.

Now, they will have to pay themselves for making stupid decisions. They were the ones who decided what they would do, and after all, it is their nation. The leaders of a Nation should not ask others to pay them because they were stupid enough to join a (lost) war.

To your Holiness

We need military access to our isle of Rhodes. Hence we do not wish for any atttempts to block the straits to Manx war vessels. We need full trade access through the straits.

In any consideration we will ask our ally of Greneda to heed not your request when it comes to Manx vessels, as well as the Crusaders. The Spammers have proven not keen to trade with us but we still have Egypt to trade for example.

In relation we remind you that you do not control th straits, the people they controlling them are free powers. We will supply Greneda with special shipments of uraniums as a note of our freindship with them. It is all in consideration.

Please be in aware of your political power's limits just as I must be aware of my political power's limits.

Emperor Magnus Flanagon of Man.

We went to war to help our friends. We didn't know that they were cowards who wouldn't put up a proper fight.
