lurker's comment: I know it's kind of late to be asking this, but ... can I join the game? I picked up Civ 3 Complete about a month ago, and I've been playing a ton. I'm up to Warlord difficulty so far, and I think I'll be able to move up to Regent soon.

-Egypt has math! I'm glad I never traded them Writing, because I now trade it to them for Math and 1 gold :lol: (what? every gold piece counts :lol:)
-I then trade them MM for 41 gold and their WM. Ouch, they're on a small island! They only have room for 9 or 10 cities (and they have 9)! research switched to CoL, which comes in 15 turns.
- I now trade the Aztecs Math for their WM and 57 gold. Unfotunately, I didn't get much from the map!

lurker's comment: I'm guessing your Science production was almost exactly what you needed to get MM in 3 turns instead of 4, and then Philly's riot plus maybe the barbarian's pillaging robbed you of the commerce that made the difference.

Couple Things I would like to Point out.

1st: I would not have just traded MM to Egypt just for some Cash. The Reason behind this now is they MM and as you pointed out the are stuck on there little island. Now they can get off and with all of that Coast line of our island just one movement from them. We will see an influx of Egyptian settlers on our island now. Specially with Luxes down there to be had.
If we had held off it could have been much later and we might have had those lands filled in. Now we have some competion to them again.

2nd: Atlanta won't grow for 4 turns and the settlers is one turn from completion so there is a little waste going on there.

As for War no need right now
Monty is in a poor enviroment and it will take a lot of troop comentment just to cross that jungle. We also aren't in a position to go and take monty land yet.
Cleo may be an option but we need a navy. However when she does cross onto our island it might be worth it to do some capturing of towns and sue for a tech later. But there is no reason to start a War just yet. No resource to gain, No Tech, No Lux, or Land. We still have a lot of land around use and to settle first. Including a Resource and Two Luxes.

I just wanted her WM without having to trade her ours. I guess that was a bad idea, then.

I guess Elephantium is in, since we haven't seen anything on the subject from goodsmell or cody, and it's been almost a week.
Regarding cody's posts: Yeah, weird. Also weird: goodsmell was up in dimalio's SG, but didn't post a got it and was skipped. But when I checked his Profile a minute ago, it said he'd been on CFC today. Maybe we can PM them for answers?

@gmaharriet: Well, that explains cody, but not goodsmell. I'll check back on the out of pocket thread when he's up for his return post, but until then, leave him out of the roster.

@JJJ: How did you play so fast? The post time says that the time between your got it and your set post was a little less than 2 hrs! :eek: Oh and, regarding city location: Make Sure to block off Monty and Cleo, and keep them seperated as long as possible!
 
Time wise was Easy. It just hit me on the time I normally would play. No Problem.

As For the Contact with Monty and Cleo. They can reach each other by Galley. And they both have MM. So it is just a matter of time. My guess is that they will meet each other in the next 20 turns or so. So if you see either Galley heading either way it might be time to sell that contact.

Hmm! I must have missed that message from Cody. But I see it now.

Also the Galley that I had on West Coast I was planning on sending thur Cleo Land to do a Suicide Run off her West Coast.
 
I have the file, and I plan to play through my turnset later today.

It seems like people tend to forget about this thread after a while. One thing that might help prevent that is using the Thread Tools to subscribe to the thread - it will let you get email updates when the thread is updated.

It seems like a thread subscription doesn't come automatically when you post here, so I've just been adding subs manually.

Expect the next update later today!
 
Yeah, but if you just check your User CP often enough, you should know when updates happen (I have time to this). I guess goodsmell doesn't have time, though.
