(My first SG)For newbies

We are pretty far ahead in techs so 50-60% isn't bad for the lux slider with a minimum runs at any future techs. We are still out researching them even at a minimum run. Considering the game will probably be over before we get another useful tech.
Here is how I see it. If we are planning a reload in a few turns. A PT with one and staying in Republic might be the way to go.
If we are going to stay in war the rest of the way.
Monarchy with the cash Rush Ability is better for the Domination win.
Commie if we are looking for a conquest Victory.
Just make sure your willing to deal with those turns of late anarchy. Which I considering is just like running a Republic with 50-60% lux.
Plus just picking up extra Luxes along the way goes along way towards reducing WW. (i.e. have we got those Furs hook up yet??)

Just my thoughts loosing cites is the Worst for WW. So I have always played if I can’t hold the city I would raze instead of trying to hold it. Usually with lots of Sci Farms it is very easy to rush a few settlers when needed to replace it.

I'll raze them anyway from now on (flip risk). Besides, after I signed peace with England, WW returned to reasonable levels. :) If I have to sign peace again, it will be with Russia since we are gaining nothing from war with them (except the disconnection of their iron :lol:).

This is totally offtopic, but I just finished a Warlord level game as the Germans, and I want to start a new solo game. Problem is, I'm coming up empty on inspiration for which civ to play. I want to step up from Warlord to Regent, and I was thinking of doing a 5-city challenge. What do you guys think?

You should be able to handle Regent or Monarch no problems and still have some fun. I have very limited exp. with 5CC games but I would Suggest India or Greece.
Both are Commercial civs that should help you out in 5CC.
India in Nice because of the no resource War Elephant. (also I think it fits your handle well.)
Greece is nice because you get a Strong Defender that doesnt get out dated for an age and a half and the free techs.
You should Read this SG Thread for more Inspiration on 5CC
Goz11-5CC Deity

Well, I'm done. Sorry it took so long, but war is time consuming!! I have reached Modern Times, so maybe making it 5 turns per set instead of 10 would be a good idea? As for the 5CC thing, Elephantium, go for it. Well, anyway, here's the set:

In that case, I have taken a screenshot for you:
Other_Continent.JPG

Nice set, BTW. Also BTW: Why are all of our leaders going into Armies when they could go into rushing things like the HE, the Pentagon, or Battlefield Medicine (which I'm not sure we actually can build right now)? Also, I checked Mapstat and no cities are in danger of rioting this IBT.

Well, I switched Washington from a Battleship Earlier to Build HE.
Can't Build the Pentagon until Three armies which we only have two with the third being completed shortly.
Let me say I not a fan of the Sheild cost needed for B. Medicine. (ie. we don't have five Hosptials). I only build Hosp. when there are tiles to be worked and the city can build it in a reasonable time frame. Which I can say is about 1 maybe two cities at the moment that can use them and they all ready have them.
It is also I feel not that great of a sm. wonder. Meaning It easy for me to retreat back to a barracks and heal fully. One Hp a Turn is way too slow..

You have a point there on the Battlefield Medicine, and HE will get done soon from what you've told me. But Pentagon would be good, and if we get our next leader when we have our third army- or it's within a couple of turns of completion- use it to rush Pentagon.
And Speaking of wonders, we might want to start pre-builds for the UN and the Manhattan Project in the next 10-15 turns.

JJJSpider said:
HE is done and complete in Washington.

I don't see that mentioned in your set, but okay.

I'm up to Turn 5, planning to finish the rest tomorrow night.

Cisco: Tank->Tank
Avaris: Settler->Settler
Tzintzuntzen: Settler->Settler

Turn 10 (1786 AD):

We win with a Domination victory!

Great Job! Elephantium!

I knew we we getting close on my last set.
The reasoning behind the scattering of the transports was that Most everything could be air lifted to Front to Germo Invasion. On those small island in the north that was not an option So I move transport in the area in case the AI got Cute and tried to land an invasion force on one of those island where reinforcement might be needed. PLus it made for moving Settler from those island to the front possible.

Otherwise well played.

Heh, I realized about airlifting a couple of turns into the set. It's really cool to send over tanks via plane.

I just wish arty could be airlifted, too.

Edit: Here's the save.

Yeah!! We won!!! :dance:
BTW, if you can find it, load the 1784 autosave and play to the end of the turn again, then upload a save so that we cna look at the replay! ;)

Why is the save gone? :confused:
