Over the past two days I sat in front of the fireplace thinking about life, religion, politics, America. I’ve not sleep, I’ve eaten nothing, drank nothing, living off only the energy that is life. I try to eliminate the boundary between myself, the fireplace and the environment so I can be one with the elements. Then about an hour ago I had a vision, the walls spoke to me and suddenly everything makes sense. With the wisdom of the bricks, I began to understand the things that trouble me the most. I began to understand President Bush’s policies; they were crystal clear. I’ll try my best to recreate in writing the word spoken to me by the wall

Human and plants live in interdependence. Human breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide, while plants do the reverse. Carbon dioxide therefore is an essence for the survival of plants. By eliminating parts of the forest we decrease the rate of use of carbon dioxide while keeping the production at the same rate. The result, more CO2, more life-sustaining element for plants, which means more plants in the future. You may synthesize this knowledge to mean that in our future there will be more freedom, more liberty, more money in our national budget, and more Babylonians.

Our economy shall only progress if our citizens are working. No matter how high the educations of our citizens are, if they are not working our economy will stand still. That is why by cutting funds to schools and universities nationwide, many students will realize they can only support their education if they find a job. This is exactly what America need, more people in the work force. But soon many students will find it difficult to remain in school and maintain a job at the same time, so they must choose. Those who believe their education will bring them prosperity in the future will choose to continue with their education, while those who feel they can achieve more in the work force will choose against higher education. When this is accomplished and balance is achieved, America will have invested the wisest in education and the hardest working in the work force.

Even though victory has been achieved, situations in Iraq are not yet stable. People there are living off less than one dollar a day (while Americans are spending over $100 a day), and the amount of soldier based there are not enough to stop terrorist attacks. But the situation is not hopeless; a new plan will encourage more soldiers to go to Iraq and reduce our national deficit at the same time. By cutting pay to our soldiers by up to 20% many will feel the pressure of the economy. But our soldiers are wise; they know about Iraq, the cost of living in America for one day would allow them to live in Iraq for a hundred. They are able to both serve their patriotic duty and satisfy their self-interest (capitalism) at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone.

Immortal speaks wise words

why is there so much talk about "saving the planet". besides blowing it up, there really isn't much we can do to kill the planet, but only ourselves or our way of life. what does the planet care what kind of life lives on it's surface?

Whoa....I don't even know where to begin.

For one, people usually cannot go very far these days without education. Not just that, but if we cut that out, we'll lose our technological advantage. We might as well go back to being all farmers. Forget computers or high-tech jet planes or missile defense. Nobody will know how to do any of those things.

Cut pay to the soldiers? Are you crazy? Do you realize how many soldiers are supporting families? They're still back in America and they won't be paying Iraq prices to live. That and who the heck would volunteer if we cut 20% off a salary of maybe $30,000 for a regular soldier?

You sure you remembered to put the cap back on the rubber glue?

@Yankee
Perhaps you'll see my point if you stop eating, drinking and sleeping for two days. It also helps if you breathe in deeply as the ash fills the air. Once you have the wisdom of a brick, you'll realize that President Bush is very wise. None of what I wrote was my proposal, they are merely actions already approved by President Bush.

Perhaps the intention of my first post would be made clearer if I throw in a couple of these.:crazyeye: :crazyeye: :rolleyes: :lol: :eek:

Try posting at 3:30 AM just trying to get some sleep and you'll take sarcasm as literal interpretation! :p

That said, I've seen people say those kinds of things and actually be serious....I'm on the lookout!

Situation is messed up...I'm hoping my cousin does not join the fray.

The last time I stopped eating and drinking for two days was when I ran out of money after the ski resort I worked at closed for the summer. I remained awake for those two days thinking/stressing about getting a job so I could go back to eating and drinking on a regular basis. The only deep revalation I came to was "I need a job!".

Let's cut down trees so there will be more plants in the future? There's some backwards logic. Ecosystems rely on a balance of all its components, not merely a glut of CO2.

It's good that you have had this eye-opening experience. Hopefully it has inspired you to research and discover more about what is going on in the world. Be open minded, but think critically, and your knowledge and understanding will grow. Then you will be truly enlightened and I will be envious of you. Right now, however, I think you are relying on some potentially dangerous generalizations.

Exactly what are you burning in your fireplace? Panama Red? :lol:
