My wife, her brother and I love using PitBoss for multiplayer since I'm running Civ IV on a P-III and it runs much faster. We all were running 1.52 with the beta version of PB and it worked fine....
...until we upgraded to 1.61 *and* we upgraded the PB to the official version. Now, whenever I try to start it I get an exception:
AppName: pitboss.exe AppVer: 1.6.1.1841 ModName: cvgamecoredll.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0031fa79
Exception Information
Code: 0xc0000096 Flags: 0c00000000
Record0x0000000000000000 Address 0x0000000001cdfa79
I thought that downgrading to 1.52 (and, by extension, uninstalling Civ IV and reinstalling Civ IV 1.09 and re-upgrading to 1.52) and reverting to the beta PB would fix everything, but *now* the PB tells me that I need to upgrade to the latest version. When PB attempts to do so... it connects for a while... and then hangs.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a bug in the official version of PB?
Please help!
