I took a stroll today. It was wet. It was grey and green and I felt summer finally. I found myself in my most precious pair of jeans and my best sneakers. I only realised outside. I was golden, better than golden. I was hung over and depressed. My steps took me to the Irish pub and I had an east India pale ale of the tap. There was about 20 or so people in the bar and I tried my best to just blend in but I failed. I felt like they were watching me and judging me. I chugged the beer and walked out of there. The rain outside was refreshing and very subtle, more like a breeze than a rain. I walked behind a woman, well a girl really, maybe 20 years old. Her fragrance was fantastic, flowery and alluring. She was not beautiful, not even cute but very appealing. I was alone but not alone. I wanted closeness but I had none. I had freedom and fresh air. I found another pub and had another beer. I met a man named Shakira or something like that. We talked about politics. He was from Sudan, north Sudan. We were both socialists and got along in a knacky language hindered kind of way. He could have used a dental plan. I have an appointment with my dentist tomorrow. I hope my beer-breath is gone by then.

People walk in America?

Yes. I walk my dog daily, but that might end soon because of triple-digit temperatures and powerful humidity in the summertime jungles of Missouri.

And in Devon:)

Spoiler :
The OP does not live in USA

I was actually going to ask whether he was a Brit on account of the pint he had.
On the other hand an Irish themed pub thats a rarity over here, you find them but they aren't popular.

He is not in the UK.

Anyway I will have to go out for another stroll myself this week.
Will have to post the out come here.

My last stroll

Went out for a walk last Tuesday.

Next up, try writing on the wall above the urinal at Harry's Bar & Grill.

That would be quite a leap upwards.

Please do, we can be the wierd ones discussing strolls.

Does a run around Cambridge count as a stroll?

It was a pretty dreary--we just had a bunch of rain and cooler temperatures than usual.

I just got done walking home from my lady's. It was a good walk. Barefoot, because I've had a bit too much wine (not Barefoot) and had to show her a poem that I'd written.

It's nice having a woman that I can wake up at 2 am to go read a poem to. Somewhere, OP, there's a person like that who is waiting for you. Go wake them up, or get woken up.

Walking barefoot feels good, especially on grass. But I have not done it, apart from short distances for a while.

They're pretty common up here, if only because any pub frequented by Celtic fans will follow the money.

There is an Irish pub next to the Holiday Inn in Skopje. The wife wanted to go in it so I relented once, only once. It wasn't Irish, it wasn't Macedonian, it wasn't good.

There is an Irish pub beside the harbour here but it is no different to any other "children’s" bar.

I haven't been to Ireland for ten years but then the pubs there were similar to pubs in the UK in the 70s. More friendly and family orientated.

Welcome to CFC

I stroll every morning with my dog (StreetWolf) and daughter (SlingApe). It's hard to get out of the warm cozy bed, but I'm almost always smiling once I get to the street.

It's usually very quiet - this morning, being a holiday here, it was especially quiet. The crossing guards for the school weren't setting out their warning cones, the delis weren't rattling up their lock curtains, there weren't streams of taxis trying to out-run each other by the next red light.

The air was very clean, the sun was low, but bright. How could it not put a smile on your face?

Daughter slept heavily against my chest, the dog wasn't darting this way and that - it was the sort of pace that a morning stroll should be. I got some coffee and drank most of it on the stoop. The dog (GuardWolf) barked at a couple of pedestrians who wandered just a little too close to the gate for her comfort, they smiled back at her.

I went upstairs and woke up my wife so that she could get herself together while I was still minding the baby. 20 minutes later I was on my bike heading over an empty bridge to Midtown Manhattan.

You must have a lot of trouble drinking water, considering it boils at 100°C and above. Or are you talking Kelvin? In that case, it must be hard too, considering it freezes at anything below 273° (under normal cirumcstances)
