Naming Thread

I think Tuscan Talon is very suitable for the city name. It references the Elephant's Ivory (Tusk), and the Eagle's Talon. By combining the two words "Tusk" and "and" into Tuscan, we're are also referring to our Roman heritage. The coast and the hills even look like the Tuscany Region.

I was Professor Kokintz in a high school production of this. Fortunately, that was back in the days 8-tracks and cassettes, so no video record exists!
Hey CB, you'll never guess what's on these Kodak Super 8s we just dug up....

I also like Tuscan Talon. It's a good way of incorporating the ivory in the name without giving much away. Aquila can go next.

EDIT:Nice job on the double-headed Eagle.:goodjob:

Does anyone have a suggested name for the river that originates in the mountains in the SE and runs NW to the coast?

It is shaped like a question mark, so we could call it 'The River ?'

It is also shaped like a shepard's staff, so we could it 'The River Staff' or 'The River Stave'.

'First River' is always an option, as is 'River Primus'. But I think we can do better than that.

'The Saber River'?

'Megan Fox River'? (As we crosssed over the Megan Fox and entered Tuscan Talon..., hmm, well, maybe.)

:dunno:

How about Thorondor River or River Thorondor?

Thorondor reminds me of something huge or something great. We should also keep this in mind for a leader or Army.

There is so much going on here (so many threads) I can't keep up but you guys are the masters an I'll just follow along :) But could someone please point me to pics of our area, I think I'm good at deciphering a map layout I'm just complacent to manage it. :)

Edit; Ooops never mind I found them

River Name
I can live with Big Branch River. I like it better than anything I had suggested.

City #3
Initial, off the top of my head, lets-get-the-ball-rolling, city name suggestions:
  • Floodsville
  • Yellow (Dot) Fever
  • Big Branch Bonanza
  • Bald Eagle Bivouac
  • The Hatchery

Floodsville is hardly imaginative, but workable.
Yellow (Dot) Fever is another disposable name.
Big Branch Bonanza was just a way to work in the river name, since this city will be adjacent to the river.
I did not know that Bald Eagles were wetlands creatures until I Googled for 'wetlands eagles'.
We'll be producing a lot of little Eagles in this place; little Eagles come from eggs; eggs have to be hatched...thus The Hatchery.

How about Chick Magnet? Workers are like small settlers (only 1 pop), chicks are small Eagles. Magnet because the city will hopefully be a Worker Pump and there will be a lot of the little "chicks" around there... thus, Chick Magnet.

I like the hatchery. For workers, I suggest worker 1, worker 2, worker 3 and so on.

I'd like to propose the name Leone for our Worker pump. Leone is the name of the Philadelphia Eagles Worker who was fired for his Facebook posting.

I agree with numbering Workers and Big Branch River will be good.

I really agree with naming units, I do this most of the time to keep track of possible promotions. Not so much workers unless I take them into battle.
