Native America Mod

EDIT: Hey...R8XFT you didn't upload the entire mod... :(
What's happening? You seriously don't expect me or the people who decide to download the mod to skim through the pages and download every single leaderhead?

I did upload the lot - they're all there except for those that are already in the full game. The biq file was only uploaded in an earlier post as Mobilize wanted that file in isolation. If you go to your very first post in this thread, click on "download first" and instead of downloading your version, it will download my 42meg version with all the files included. You'll need to edit out the other links on that post.

Could you give me a link of the download (42 megs?)

BTW, were you losing bad in that game (screenshot?) :p

Thunderfall used exactly the same link that you used when you uploaded the original file. He deleted that file and replaced it with the new one. Where once you clicked to download your 15meg file, you now click to download my 42meg file.

I wasn't even playing the game. I cheated with the biq file so that I could build late units/improvements straight away  .

So the "DOWNLOAD FIRST" link will net your update RF?

1. Ok, I noticed a few things from C3C we should put in the mod

In the "Mesoamerica" and "Age of Discovery" scenerios, a number of Meso and South American wonders can be built:

1. Temple of the Moon
2. Temple of the Sun
3. K Temple(not sure how its spelled)
4. Temple of the Masks

We should diffenitely use those in the mod, rather than the normal Civ3 wonders...

2. Flavor units

Instead of simply having UUs, I thought, why not have all three civ culture groups(North American, Mesoamerican, and South American) have their own flavor units?

For instance:

North American Units:

NA Archer
Brave(For Navajo, Tomahawk)
NA Spearman(For Cherokee, RedSkin)
Native Shooter(For Iroquios, Native Cavalry)
Mounted Warrior(For Sioux, Savages)

Mesoamerican Units:

Mesoamerican Spearman
Mesoamerican Archer(For Mayans, Javelin Thrower)
Mesoamerican Warrior(For Azteks, Jaguar Warrior)
Eagle Warrior(Upgrades from Meso Spearman, acts as cavalry for Mesoamerican civs Azteks and Mayans)
Priest(Replaces Shamans)
Mesoamerican Shooter(For Azteks, Jaguar Shooter)

South American Units:

Llama Cavalry
SA Spearman
SA Archer(For Tupis, Poison Darter)
SA Warrior(For Incans, Inti Warrior)

I believe RF has already done some of this actually.

Yes! You'll notice it's 42meg instead of the 15meg it was before. It does include all the artwork etc.

There, I fixed the first post. No after the Commerical Advisor, I suggest Sword_of_Geddon ask Thunderfall to front page this mod. :D

All in favor?
I

I!

Also Unexisted, you may want to update those screenshots on the first page with the new ones RF made, that way, people looking at the mod for the first time(who are thinking of downloading it) will have a more complete idea of what the Mod contains.

You don't have to, its just an idea.

Ok, now that I have the mod downloaded, I shall start working on it immediately.

Things I will be implimenting:

1.UU for each Civ
2. Flavor units for each cultural group
3. An update on the Civilipedia for all the new units I will add, plus Civilipedia updates for anything else RF forgot to handle, I shall fix

Question for our resident Native American expert, Mobilize:

I NEED UNIQUE UNIT NAMES FOR EVERY CIV IN THE MOD!!!!!

PLEASE HELP!! Please?

@Sword_of_Geddon, magnificent! Good luck

@R8XFT, thank you greatly and remove those screenshots from the middle of the thread outta here. :)

Unexisted, I'll edit my posts tomorrow. You'll need to edit your first page as well. Why? Less than 24 hours after bringing you the updated files for this mod, I've brought out the first expansion pack :) .

This expansion pack puts the Inuit in the game, is only a 1.2meg download. It includes the Inuit leaderhead stuff with updated biq file; city graphics for the Inuit  , a new unit (I've changed it so that the canoe becomes Kayak and is for the Inuit only and a new raft unit has come in for the other civs). Finally, there's Lookout Point, a World Wonder. This allows safe sea travel.

There are also a couple of minor corrections I had to make to the original biq file and pedia icons file :( . Sorry they slipped through the net the first time.

In order to install the Inuit expansion pack, you need to have downloaded the 42meg file first. Then, download this pack and add the files to the appropriate folders, taking your lead from the folders they come in for the download.

The link is below:

New civ : Inuit

For this leaderhead, I simply took Aaron Burr's leaderhead for the female Inuit leader as a base and made it a made leaderhead.

I hope in the update you did we use the world map?
Seems nice. But, maybe Sword_of_Geddon should download this and include this one in his update. Ultimatley, we want just one download.

@R8XFT????

What's up? I asked you? Didn't you use the World Map?
Wait, did you download it yet Mobilize?

Sword_of_Geddon, not all civs need UUs! The minor ones which aren't coast to coast or super traders don't need one. Just let them have a Warrior, Archer and Settlers/Workers. Thats it. The rest of the units can be for the tribes that did something or heavily resisted against the Spanish/French/English and the others.

I have a suggestion on the civizations stuck in the jungles or arctic have better survival traits. Like modify their special slighty so they can expand better in the climates. And I am liking the process that coming along now. Do agree with better settlers and worker designs, as they don't appear native american.

PS : I ask this last time, but was not answer : What native american tribes inhabited Indiana?

Iroquois, Blackfoot and maybe some Mohican? It depends where they (or you) build the cities. As for a precise starting location; I can't honestly answer. I'm waiting for R8XFT to say why he changed the map...

I did say I was doing this as a random map venture. As for the map, when I get home, I've still got your original download including your map on my pc, so I'll save it to the new biq and upload it.

Good leaderhead RF!

But about my shift with the mod:

Too late! I already have updated the Mod considerably since I downloaded it yesterday

The new Inuit civ will have to wait until my shift is done.

Ok, now that that is over and done:

Progress Report

As of this posting I have added quite a few units and reorganized/renamed others. Every old unit and all new units I have added have complete Civilapedia entries, plus, in addition, I have made sure every unit has a decent Civilipedia icon.

Lastly, Ive also created a unit upgrade path for all units

All Civs: Guard, Wouri Guard, Silent Hunter, Warrior, Brave, Seasoned Brave, Boomstickman, Native Shooter, Canoe, Pahrump, Tomahawk
N.American: Mounted Warrior
MesoAmerican: Eagle Warrior
South American: Llama Rider(he doesn't really ride the Llama, but still), C.Scout

UU:

Azteks: Jaguar Warrior, Jaguar Infantry, Tlecuahuitl
Tupi: Tamoio, Blowpipe
Incans: Inti Warrior, Inti Champion, Xopilli
Mayans: Slinger, Atl-Atl, Javelin Thrower
Sioux: Savage, Savage Shooter
Iroquios: Marksman
Cherokee: RedSkin, Windrider

I have quite a few more planned, in addition to several more generic units. However some Civs won't get UU's(like the Powhatten for instance)
